I feel the og had this problem too, but really only with the full sword combo where the last hit in the charge combo would usually never hit the enemy. It doesn’t really seem to be a problem in this game cause it looks like every other style is just better than the sword style, especially with the brawler style having an absolute monstrous amount of speed now

I’m relatively new to Yakuza/Like A Dragon: have beat 1 through 5. But I also have Fist of the North Star. Now I’m on Ishin, in Ch.4, so the card system hasn’t been introduced yet and have been wondering what they are exactly. Though now seeing some in action, they seem to be similar to Fist of the North Star’s Destiny Talisman system. I don’t use them much, though I really should be if I’m being honest. Which given now that I’m seen what the cards are capable of ahead of time, I think I’ll be far more inclined to use them as well as the Talismans in Fist of the North Star as well.
My man's here cooking everyone properly, as Nagoshi always intended. Coombos worth the subscroob. Combat seems a bit wonky and from what I saw from the comments here, some of my fears surfaced but nothing a minor patch can't fix, at least the overly sticky auto-lock at least. Now to see if they kept the original songs in the remake.
Sword is way better for single targets rather than groups, also use its counters since they’re the best part of the style, too bad they aren’t available in the demo though
Like he said all the good sword abilities aren’t in the demo for some reason. With the right upgrades it’s a defensive counter focused style that’s good at knocking down enemies and lowering their defense
Hey, I played through the entire game cuz I got early access and my primary issue with the game was actually the combat. I felt like the combat styles were pretty cool and interesting on their own but then it became really mind numbing over time because the different combat styles don't really synergize or flow together even with upgrades. I felt like switching between styles on the fly felt kinda clunky and the game's mechanics were kind of messy. Like sticky movement, inconsistent hitboxes and annoying hyper armor on the bosses. I feel like the game would've really benefited from the instant style switching from Yakuza Kiwami or some of the abilities or polish you'd find in Lost Judgment. I'd like to have your opinion since you seem to have a good grasp on the combat in this game and other RGG titles.
I haven’t actually played through the Kiwami ver of the game yet, I have played through the original though, from a Birds Eye view of it I think it looks worse than the original, the boss design in the original allowed you to actually hit them.
@@DillionT Yeah the magic on the bosses is just goofy. At least they're easy to avoid by just blocking from my experience. For 2:22 that’s the standard rush combo for gun, just press triangle 3 times after you press Square, for the bound combo at 3:30 you mainly just get enemies into a bound state(when he was about to fall down) then get behind him and just press Square x amount of times before you dodge cancel with X and then press Square again x amount of times
