Зачем это все рассказывать? Уголок заповедный остается таким лишь до того как в него не приходит толпа с запада. В столице и в Питере неруси уже больше чем русских живет.
Thank you, Igor! I will become a member soon. I want to go to Russia again (I visited the Soviet Union in the 80s), but now I'm in a wheelchair and need to know which places will be wheelchair accessible, including hotels (I stayed at the Astoria in the 80s) busses, metro, and boat rides. I will have my husband with me, who can walk. I can speak Russian, but he can't. Thanks!
That's awesome you stayed at the Astoria in the 80s! It’s such an iconic hotel with all kinds of fascinating stories tied to it. Some local folklore I heard among Astoria & Angleterre staff is that during the Siege of Leningrad, German forces supposedly spared the building from Luftwaffe targeting because it was meant to be their HQ once the city fell. True or not, it’s definitely part of the hotel’s legendary lore. After Rocco Forte took over and renovated it in 1997, it’s kept its reputation as one of the best spots in St. Petersburg.
@@pctufi4834 Yes, I did hear that Hitler was planning to be there. I also checked out the photos of the interior online. Much better looking rooms, and those beautiful crystal chandeliers are still in the big dining room! But prices are quite high there of course!
@@Igorinrussia I'm very happy to know they have wheelchair accessibility at St. Isaac's, I could go up to the top for a great view! But not at the Clock Tower on Nevsky, unfortunately.
Do you know if it’s possible to get to Russia through Belarus as an EU citizen? It would be interesting to take the train from Brest to Moscow and stop in Minsk on the way there… but I‘m afraid that’s not possible at the moment for non-Russian or non-Belarusian citizens.
Its not possible unfortunately (i woulve done many times otherwise)...its because the border is considred among russia and belarussia as internal border.. you have to enter the countries from a 3rd party countries
Thanks for sharing your insights about traveling to Russia in 2025! It’s clear you’re passionate about helping others navigate the complexities of travel in these times. However, I think the video could benefit from tightening the focus a bit. For instance, deciding whether it’s a 'what not to do' guide or a practical 'how to enter Russia' guide would make it easier to follow. You’ve touched on a lot of crucial points, like border closures, e-visas, and the challenges with Euros and drones. But diving deeper into specific actionable tips would make the video even more valuable. For example, when discussing currency, it would be helpful to explain why bringing pristine USD is better than Euros and how to avoid hefty exchange fees when converting dollars in Russia. You could also touch on the process of opening a Russian bank account to get a MIR card, including potential bureaucratic hurdles, especially for Americans. Additionally, a segment on managing finances under sanctions-like cryptocurrency or alternative banking options-would be incredibly useful for viewers facing these challenges. You've already mentioned some of these topics in past videos, so incorporating and expanding on that info here could create a more cohesive guide. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see more detailed and structured content in your future videos. You're doing great-just a bit of fine-tuning, and these could be top-notch travel resources!
@@pctufi4834 thanks for lenghy and good feed back. Most of the things you mention, ive actually covered in a separate video, russian bank account, guide for best exchange of currency etc
Well, What would want to see, i travel to saint petersburg for 7 years, explore it, and find new stuff daily.. but what places you want to visit? I can make an estimation/suggstion

Hello dear, what are the settlement chances for Data Scientist and Machine learning developer in Russia? How should I apply? Can I setup IT company in Russia?
Your chances are greater if you can speak Russian. But even if you cannot, if you are seasoned professional, my advice would be to go online and contact all the companies in Russia that fit your profile. If one or two, say, are interested, they may help you get here. Getting and being here is key. Many opportunities will open up - but you must be here. Yes, you can set up an IT company in Russia, but my advice would be to live here at least a couple of years to understand how Russia works before taking this step. Good luck and take care.

Best word is 'inexspensive'! Don't use the word CHEAP. Why? It has a double-meaning in English = low price quality. Ok? It's somethin' that is a 'negative'. Like maybe a woman, if You know what I mean. Best Word is *inexpensive'! Regards Igor ;)
