How to: Vintage Jeep 4x4 Dualmatic Locking Hubs Warn CJ5 CJ2A Land Rover

Hey did a little video on how to actually use a 4x4 on my lift in my shop. Originally did it for this vehicle which is a 1964 Jeep CJ5 done in a M38A1 Military theme. You usually see someone out driving around and maybe showing you how it works, but we put it on the lift, show the shifters and give you a look at how the it actually functions showing the 2wd vs 4wd, wheels moving, drivelines etc etc. Anyways I hope you find it helpful, if not that is okay. These are Dualmatic Locking Hubs, the Warn hubs are a little different you turn a dial, but overall they work the same, and you can see how to switch into 4wd, vs 2wd. As a bonus you get to see how the use a PTO, this has a Ramsey PTO off of the Jeep Transmission, for a Winch.

One thing with locking hub's on closed knuckle front end your trunon bearings never gets oil, from the knuckles oil

Is there a way to solve that? Any upgrades or anything?

@@blueovalranch don't run hub's, or lock them in once in awhile

I've always considered locking hubs a gimmick, but I could see leaving them on for historical reasons on a vintage vehicle. I never saw that style before, it does look interesting. I wonder how much of a problem it is if someone only locked one lever.

I wish you had actually had the hubs in the shot when you were changing back and forth. It may be obvious to you exactly what you did, but it's hard for us to tell.
