I only have volume 3,4,&5 of the Colossal Editions. When I started reading Attack on Titan I was buying the singles which I have volumes 1 through 10. I found volume three at my local used bookstore for $20 and didn't think twice about grabbing it. I love these volumes, I love the size and think it's cheeper to buy. I don't have any negative sayings about the manga, the size it is great, the pictures are very clear and easy to read. I can't wait for the newer volumes to come out so I can get those too.
Definitely agree with you! The size, look of the pages, and price of these are why I love the Colossal Editions as well. It's awesome that you were able to pick one up at your local used bookstore. Always a good feeling to find something you were in search of. And I can't wait either! Excited to continue reading the series again in the larger format.

Hi, My attack on titan colossal edition 6 is coming in the mail this week. This is my first colossal edition buy as I planned to get the most out of my allowance. I was just wondering if you have any thoughts on the colossal edition 6. Would really love to hear it as I'm getting a lot of adrenaline, hype and nervousness as the days gone by.
Absolutely love it! Mine just recently arrived. The print quality is incredible in all of the editions, but some of my favorite panels are in 6 and they look absolutely beautiful with the larger format. Awesome that yours is coming in soon!!

I have read and watched AOT before, I don’t need the best reading experience. Big books are nice looking in my shelf and the colossal editions look the best.
I wish they had been made like the French version with each edition being a 3-in-1. 5 Volumes in 1 book is just to much. Not to mention that I loved the cover pages for the French ones and the fact that there were 10 in total
Yeah, I agree with you there! The Colossal Editions are similarly made as the Tokyo Ghoul Monster Editions, but those only collect 3 volumes with the final volume only having 2. Those don't have as many issues as these do, were just the right amount of thickness, and were also easier to read than these were. I really wish they would have done that as well since I love experiencing AOT in this large format!
I'll wait for a more durable hardcover edition. Black and white will do for me, but I would want to be able to lay it flat and enjoy the artwork without worrying about the spines.
Ah yeah I feel you! The artwork looks absolutely incredible but these would have been much better if they were a sewn-binding, hardcover release. Hopefully they come out with a hardcover release now that the manga is completed. Would love to see something similar to the Akira hardcover box set that Kodansha released!

Hey! So in terms of quality, the Berserk Deluxe Editions are much higher quality than the AOT Colossal Editions. Since the Colossal Editions are paperback, they are prone to dents and creases during shipment. That being said, the larger format makes Hajime Isayama's art look that much more incredible, so I really enjoy reading them. Berserk is my favorite manga of all-time, but AOT is on my top list as well so you really can't go wrong with either story-wise. But if you are comparing the editions, I prefer the Deluxe Editions over the Colossal Editions. Hope that helps!

I love the idea but the thin pages scares me from buying it. I've got The 1st omnibus so I may get omnibus 2 then collosall edition 2 and see if I like it

Ah yeah, that's definitely one of the downsides I mentioned. The spines and covers are somewhat prone to dents and creases if you aren't careful when handling them or putting them back on the shelf. They are prone to arriving with damage too, so I've had to return a few orders in the past and get replacements. Something I had to consider before buying them, but decided to get then anyways because the art looks incredible in these with their larger format!
What a great review. I have all of the colossal edition and I agree with all of your pros and cons on it. I decided to collect this edition because I hate the spines of the singles. The AOT cover arts are great the color of the spines are so ugly and it doesn’t match with my room aesthetic 😂 Not that the colossal edition are that pretty either, wish it was as cool as the German’s version. Anyway, I also wished they had release it as a hardback as well but I still think the colossal editions are worth it. This series deserves to be read in its full glory!
What's the name of the series on the shelf right above the shelf with the Soul Eater and Dorohedoro volumes? (The one with the big statue/figurine on it.) Those books look really cool.

Honestly, the individual volumes are easier to read since they are more flexible. The colossal editions needed to be a bit smaller, because they are too thick and some of the dialogue disappears into the center particularly at the beginning on the editions. I personally overlooked it and dealt with it because of the larger format, the way the art looks in these, plus the full color panels, but if the readability issues in the beginning of the editions are something you can't overlook, I would definitely go with the box sets.

Hey! Yeah, the second one only has a special full-color story called Attack on Avengers added at the end, but I didn't notice a drop in the page quality with mine.
Hey! It may be because they have full color panels within them that weren't included in the other volumes. Edition 2 has the Avengers x AoT side story at the end, but no full color panels and the rest are fully in black and white, so this could be why.

I love AOT and want to buy the manga eventually, but the fact that these are not hardcover is a bit of a turn-off for me. Paperback books are doomed to degrade over time, which I hate. I could also just wait for a hardcover release, but who knows how long that'll take.

I found out about them late too! Stumbled upon them in Barnes and Noble one day and was surprised to find them. I hope they re-release Vol. 1 in the future (Looks to be out of print but never know if they'll do another run) since the other volumes are in stock and it's impossible to collect the full set with the first volume being so expensive. I hope you get the chance to pick them up some day!
Anime Collective yeah hoping volume 1 is reprinted at some point. The only think I don’t like is it’s exclusive to Barnes and Noble which I don’t like. I got the colossal editions on Amazon.

Germany got a neat hardcover editions of AoT. They collect 3 volumes each and also feature colour pages.

Anime Collective hoping for that! Also I didn’t even know there was a monster edition for Tokyo Ghoul until I saw your video. I was about the buy all 5 of the editions until there’s no volume 1 but very pricey
I found out about them late too! Stumbled upon them in Barnes and Noble one day and was surprised to find them. I hope they re-release Vol. 1 in the future (Looks to be out of print but never know if they'll do another run) since the other volumes are in stock and it's impossible to collect the full set with the first volume being so expensive. I hope you get the chance to pick them up some day!
Anime Collective yeah hoping volume 1 is reprinted at some point. The only think I don’t like is it’s exclusive to Barnes and Noble which I don’t like. I got the colossal editions on Amazon.
Yes it would've been better if it's in hardcover.
