Hi Jeff you are doing a fantastic job on the restoration. Look forward to the start up. Jenny looking super smart after her trip to the groomers ! Love to you both xx
Hi Sue and thank you. Managed to get the last panel painted after work today. After the last video I noticed it has a rear puncture again. It was my fault buying Halfords one's over Christmas. I have just received two proper moped tubes today and will try and do it in the morning. Love from me and Jenny xx
Thanks very much Alan. Managed to get the last panel painted after work today. UnfortunatelyI have another rear puncture. I bought a replacement from Halfords over Christmas, but it was much to thin. I have had a couple of proper moped ones arrive today, so will try and do that before work tomorrow. Then hopefully film the start up on Wednesday. Take care, Jeff
Lol Martin. I find it better to use a bit of lube, failing that a bit of heat. I have now got another rear puncture, I could only get Halfords ones over Christmas, but have ordered two more proper moped ones. It shouldn't affect the attempted start up next week. Take care, Jeff
Hi Jeff, it's coming a long well, the powder chrome does look good but like you said with a lacquer it will look the part. Depends how bad the chrome pitting is you can get a way with tin foil and water, I seen this trick done by Henry Cole and Sam Lovegrove on Shed and Buried. Stay safe, catch you soon Take care
Hi Shaun, I hope hope you are well. I've been a bit unlucky with some of the chrome I've had, normally to far gone to polish. I think the Velosolex wheels maybe worth a go. I have just got some 0000 wire wool, I tried a bit today, but wasn't as good as hoped. I will check out that channel and see what tips I can find. Take care, Jeff
Jeff Jenny is looking very smartt The handlebars are quite nice Inn that crome powder p ain't did you lacquer it you are making a very nice job on this bike 😂 Phil in stoke
Hi Phil and thank you. Obviously I would prefer real chrome, but the powder coat comes a close second. It's now got a rear puncture. My fault as I used a Halfords one over Christmas time. I've ordered two tougher moped ones now. It shouldn't affect the final episode next week. Take care, Jeff
Hey Jeff.....I am very surprised by the chrome finish. I am very impressed ....its way better than expected......I must give it a go.....who were the manufacturers/suppliers? Its looking so good......always impressed by the level of finish given your sometimes lack of equipment and space. Well done mate!!!
Hi Adam, I as I said in the video it's not quite like proper chrome, but very presentable. The paint is high chrome from ElectrostaticMagic. There is a powder that goes over the top of it, but Martin Butler ( Retrorestore) though he got a more gloss finish using clear coat. Thanks for watching. Take care, Jeff
Hey Jeff the restoration is coming on nicely the bike is looking great Jeff IM interested in the polishing of metals etc IF you can add this into your content I would really appreciate many thanks
Hi Paul and thank you. Generally the metals are too far gone for polishing, but I was surprised how the brake lever came up with the polisher. I will certainly add that in if you are interested. Take care, Jeff
@@DiecastPowderCoating I like the turn out of the lever I have always been interested in all aspects of the restorations tools materials how why just a good general idea on what’s happening, it’s great for my data banks haha god bless you Jeff
@paulstir Thanks Paul, sometimes I have found the polisher makes things worse, that's why I was surprised with the results on the levers. Take care, Jeff
@@DiecastPowderCoating ahh I see , well I purchased the kit for my dewalt drill ( polishing kit ) I have the compounds and buffer wheels etc but I can’t see any difference so I was looking at buying the bench wheel as I hear the rpm is not high enough on the dewalt god bless 🙏
Thanks Ted, no I spray painted the frame. It was difficult to get the exact match from the original, but seems close. I hope I can get it to start next and final episode, unfortunately it has now got a rear puncture, probably my fault as I got the tube from Halfords, but it was over Christmas and wouldn't have been able to carry on. I have just ordered two more proper moped tubes. At least it won't stop me trying to start it. Take care, Jeff
@tedvegas5586 Thank you so much Ted. It's now got a rear puncture. Unfortunately I could only get a Halfords one over Christmas, but have now ordered another two tougher moped ones. Thanks again, Jeff

Jenny is looking well Jeff, those handle bars came up nice she's looking great mind you don't get your finger stuck in the hole😂😂.

@paulstir I can't remember what mine is, I think it's a Sealey. I've had no problems with the power on it.
Take care
Really nice job. Jeff .
Did you powdercoat the frame ? I love that shade of cream
