I've been thinking and talking about this a lot for a while, and whenever I bring it up I feel like the person I'm talking to straight up does not get it. This is very refreshing to hear!
i feel you. i often think of that quote, 'a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet.' these days everyone feels so connected. it might sound naive but i believe that with the right timing and circumstances, we could all get along and care for each other :) xx
There's a great quote on “On True and False Friendship” by Seneca that your comment reminded me of: "Ponder for a long time whether you shall admit a given person to your friendship; but when you have decided to admit him, welcome him with all your heart and soul. Speak as boldly with him as with yourself… Regard him as loyal and you will make him loyal." While I would not befriend anyone, we should at least look at people with unbiased eyes and extend our hand to them. Who knows the great people we'd be able to meet and trust should we actively try to judge them for who they actually are and not what other people tell of them.
Stumbled across this video at such a perfect time in my life. Currently struggling with my identity and my desires after kind of "waking up" from being mentally checked out for years. I've had to do A LOT of reflecting (and still do) but something I have been realizing is that everything will be okay, even if I don't see how. I'm learning to let go of a lot of anxiety that's plagued me, and just take in life as it comes. Which has also made me very interested in people and their story and their struggle and their happiness, so this video was very refreshing to see that I'm not alone in my observations :)
interesting how you are able to feel connected with people, that has always been something I have had problems with. I meet lots of people and feel so isolated, maybe im just in the wrong crowds
We are not separate from the universe we are the universe. And so we are just as much for example a tree or a book as we are the body, or everyone else as much as the immediate body. So everyone’s achievements are just as much your achievements: you painted the Mona Lisa, you designed the Sagrada Família, you ran 100m in 9.58 seconds etc. There is no other or external it is all you/ the universe. The universe or existence could also be referred to as God, all there is is God. In the universe being us, or in us being the universe, that could also be said as we are doing this. We are being or doing our entire experience, and furthermore everything that has ever happened or will happen. It is us which identifies anything being in particular to give it individuality but when we are not doing that and furthermore regardless if we do that there is already everything free from the need for anything in particular to be identified and so everything as a whole or wholeness, absolute freedom (non-duality). Wow count yourself blessed for figuring this out at such a young age. It took me years to realize this. I think you would love ‘The Power of Now’ by Eckhart Tolle. It’s the most enlightening book you will ever read. I hope it brings love to you. Enjoy
