is it possible to connect chatgpt to a chat app created via AppSheet so users can interact with it? Additionally, allow users to use slash commands as well?
Hey! At 8:43 you selected Messages_Response, I followed everything step by step, click by click, and for me, Messages_Response is not listed, any idea why? My Messages_Response has the same formula as yours, Type=LongText, Editable check-marked, Displayname = "Response" and Searchable check-marked.
19 May 2023, tried to follow by copying the app > adding script to google drive (insert openai api) > change app script project to the new created > authorize > change function name > delete welcome function parameter > save and regenerate app > create new thread > write prompt > no response and no token
The first try is because there is error message "parameter is missing in appscript project" INDEX(Welcome[OpenAi_ApiKey], 1). Second try, appscript without api key but paste in welcome > Still no response and no token
Okay.... you caught me. (^_^) The primary video for all 4 of the videos of this series are actually taken from a live stream I did on the 20th where I did all of this in one shot. But some of the elements were.... out of order for the delivery here. And instead of re-recording an insert (#LazyOnMyPart lol) I chose to rearrange the clips so that they showed the "order of operations"... but the 'specifics' were a bit off. Sorry for the confusion. 💪
That's actually something I'm working towards. This first set of videos covers getting the foundation setup and running; the second evolution (which I streamed last Friday (2/10/23)) shows how to add in dynamic instructions (to help with prompt engineering); the next evolution will show how to add in your own data into the mix.

It might be possible to make the API call using Appsheet Webhook, rather than using Apps Script.
Bdw, love your energy and passion. Thanks a ton!
This guy is great.
Cheers mate!

I created (copied yours) my own script, created the api, etc. but I still can't get a response. I've tried everything I can think of...
The 8:15 it shows that your working with array and then out of the blue it seems that youre working with string

PS: You want to work with an array
can you update this for chat-gpt 3.5 turbo please? Chat GPT does not seem to know about this model.
Yes! The next video in the series will show how to change things up so you can use either the old style or the new chat format.
- Coming soon! (^_^)
Does this require a paid Chatgpt API account? I tried with a free account and it returned nothing from the answer. 🧐
You do not need the "ChatGPT Pro" account for this, you need a regular OpenAi account - where you can get API keys.
How can you apply ChatGPT to your own data?

That will be awesome. Can't wait to see that
