Very nice! Great design! Seems every live edge bowl needs a touch of the Craftsman's blood to be complete. I get nicked nearly every time I turn a live edge because I rarely wear gloves. The outside edges are often like sawblades... LOL.
Thanks. I had to watch through my video that where I hurt myself and I found the point where the evidence appears..😁 "tekevälle sattuu" this saying here in Finland that suits this.
Thank you for providing the video. I liked it very much. A delicate bowl turned out. Great job! (Kiitos videon toimittamisesta. Pidin siitä erittäin paljon. Siitä tuli herkkä kulho. Mahtavaa työtä!)

I Like it! Such a lovely shape! I was also interested to see your hollowing tool. Is it a ring, a hook, or similar? It's obviously very effective! Thank you for sharing this with us. It has been very interesting!
That tool is robert sorbys ring tool. I just learned to use it somekind of and i am very excited how it works! Now i have practiced off the camera how to use it better but some video are coming soon with ring tool hollowing!
Stunning! Got myself that termite tool. Wow what a great job it does hollowing. Love your creativity! Have you tried OB Shine Juice? Makes a beautiful finish.
I watched a video on “how to apply it” and it helped me. 3 coats, 1st is very liberal/generous and once applied you run the lathe pretty fast…1200+ for 5-6 minutes. Then with a clean towel do the same thing to remove excess for just one minute. Repeat two more times with less juice applied each time. The friction heat seems to really intensify the shine!
This tree was felled down about 3 years before turning. Log was badly cracked ends of log i tried saw them of but some crack was hiding in it but finished piece hard to see. Little bit of moisture was center of log but mostly pretty dry. I think it doesn't crack anymore.
Great project I enjoyed you sharing your talent with end grain
That is always great enjoy to get good shavings.👍
Hollowing with a ring tool, works great in endgrain - as the video clearly shows.
That tool is still on my wishlist (I'm gonna make one myself.) 😎
I am still learning to use ring tool but so excited how it works.i have to practice more😃 maybe next have to try hook tool.

Is there a technique for sharpening the hollowing tool?
well done young man
Thanks Mark👍
Did the bowl crack after turning, or is it too soon to know? (I assume it was turned green.)
