Thank you for all of the effort it's taken for properly writing the lyrics & translations in your videos. I've been studying old norse for about 2 years and these have been the most helpful in learning. Well done 👍
I'm just going through your skald videos. At first I thought it was just a random Google, second I thought it was a coincidence, but this is like the fifth video with a skyrim background. I knew it, you're a nerd (dont worry I am too, also have you noticed how many things skyrim that are just norse myth stuff they just change slightly and put in there? I find it hilarious)
Of course I am ú.ú I go a lot with Skyrim backgrounds because yes, the game is loosely inspired by Norse mythology and viking age, and though it's not an accurate representation, many environments fit very well the period
Old Norse writings with lyrics and singing, found after watching Norse by Norsewest soundtrack. This is really rewarding. Greetings from Belgrade, Serbia!
Complimenti è bello che ci sia qualcuno che cerchi di tradurre in Italiano i pezzi degli SKALD, e poi il paesaggio autunnale di Skyrim non potrebbe essere più azzeccato
@@skjaldmr5388 I knew about Bragi. I’m not certain but I think we get the word “Brag” from him. That would be very funny because his job is to sit in Valhalla and sing songs about the brave deeds of the einherjar as they arrive there. If that actually is where the word came from, saying someone is “bragging” would imply they are singing epic ballads about their own accomplishments as if they’re a hero.

I absolutely love this song! Thank you for including translations for the spoken part about Glitnir. Hail Forseti!
A great song to end 2020 with. Happy new year!

Who is Forseti?
He is the god of justice and reconciliation in Norse mythology. Bragi is the name of the god of poetry.

@@thepip3599 Indeed, haha. I hope that is really where the word comes from.
