    Hi! Thank you for the info packed video. Did you stay at a hotel or B&B when you were in Cortina d’Ampezzo? Do you happen have a list of hotels you stayed in along your route?

    • @DontWonderExplore

      Hello! Yes, we do have a list of hotels that we stayed at on our journey in the description below the video! Hotel Minardi was the spot in Cortina and we enjoyed our stay! Have a great trip, and any other questions just let me know! Cheers!

    Short but packed with important info. At any time during this travel in Italy, were you forced to use offline maps, especially in the Dolomites? Which GPS track maps app. did you use when you had internet connections? Thanks.

    • @DontWonderExplore

      Thanks!! We had a car rental with GPS so we were all set with driving GPS. We did purchase airalo package to have data on - the - go , if needed! (Link in description if you think you’ll need it!)
      The trails were marked well, and the trailheads easy to locate so I believe you’ll be fine without off-line maps. If you want to back up information to get to the trailhead, I would just use off-line Google maps.
      Specifically, I had a pro subscription to AllTrails to track our progress and I also have a Garmin mini just in case. The all-trails pro version allows you to download the offline map ahead of your hike so you’re all good!
      Hope that helps!!

    Would you recommend going in May? We'd like to avoid the summer crowds but also want to make sure when we get there, restaurants and attractions aren't still closed for the season.

      Hello! It’s hard to say as I was there in the first week of September, which I feel “technically” was still high time but really wasn’t that busy in the Dolomites or lake chomp. Venice was still pretty busy but not horrible at that time! I haven’t been in May before!
      Note: If I was you, I might search for some TH-cam vids or blogs where people said they went in May…”like traveling to the Dolomites in May” phrase OR select some of the hotels you want to stay at and ring them to ask their advice! Best of luck!

    While staying in Ortisei - at 3:47 of the video, what is the exact name of this trail/hike. That is #1 on our bucket list and we'll be there in late August 2025.

    • @DontWonderExplore
      @DontWonderExplore  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Darrell! Yes that hike is simply the hike at the top of the Gondola for Seceda! We just put in the GPS for Seceda, it brought us to a parking lot, you pay for your tickets for the gondola and then once you exit the gondola building at the top you will see this viewpoint and trail directly to your left! Enjoy & happy hiking!!

    Hey, how come the car rental proce is so high? I can book a car for a week for $100. Was fuel really that much?

    • @DontWonderExplore
      @DontWonderExplore  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t recall the fuel being crazy “we only had the US as a reference point” but that was also during the time that in general fuel had gone higher in Europe. Note: This pricing was in September 2022 when the dollar was “almost” on par with the euro! We chose Hertz, we also chose a Jeep to have more space for our luggage versus the smaller cars which were cheaper! The only other thing I can say is we did pick the “upsell” last minute with the GPS and other coverage and we ended up having a brand new vehicle. I think if you don’t go with those options you could possibly drive the price down further! Best of luck!

    What would you recommend to make it a 6-day trip?

    • @DontWonderExplore
      @DontWonderExplore  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It all depends on what areas you really want to see! We had one extra day in the Dolomites where we relaxed so you could cut one day there! OR skip time in Venice or Lake Cuomo if youre more into the hiking experience!

    Hi, would you recommend going in October?

    • @DontWonderExplore
      @DontWonderExplore  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We were there first weeks of September, as you probably saw mentioned, and weather was great but still a little busy with the crowds! I think Fall hiking can be great in October if just might be a little bit colder!

    Hi, we are planning on renting a car, did your cost breakdown include the gas?

    • @DontWonderExplore
      @DontWonderExplore  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I believe I tried to include that in the numbers. **If it was me, that was in Fall 2022 and gas prices are variable so I might check some Reddit forums, look for the equivalent of gas buddy in Italy, and also see if anyone else has posted something more recent! Best of luck!
