    Some of the points in this video feel normal as an Indian. Siesta is a thing is small towns here and yeah we eat dinner a bit late. Also, most people shop meat and vegetables from local stores instead of supermarkets.

      Thanks for the comment. Being that the currency topic was a small part of this video 1 out of 16 shocks, I really wasn’t able to spend the time diving deeply into each topic. “The video would be much much longer.” As you know, one could talk for awhile about that particular topic. I was also in AR from about Nov. 2022 to Jan 2024 so before prices started spiking and before Millei adjusted the rates so things have changed as of late. All the best!

      @@DontWonderExplore dog poop for sure is a way of vendetta here hahah. Around my area you'd barely see it but sometimes you notice a specific house/building that has more poop than the rest. Fiy for any fellow vegans/vegetarians; I'm from Argentina, Buenos Aires. And despite the huge meat culture we have, there is an equal balance of movements against animal exploitation. I'm 26 and have been vegan for 13+ in Buenos Aires and it has never been an issue. Also you'll find a bunch of people that think similarly to you, no matter what your opinion is lol Argentina is a country of "opinólogos" aka opinologists, so we all have an opinion on sth and will for sure talk about it, we love debating

    A couple things for me. First lunch over here. It's a complete dinner meal haha. I'm used to eat only one hot meal for dinner and during the day not to eat that much. So you really need to watch out not get overweighted in Argentina. Second thing for me is the lack of structure and organize. In the country i'm from we over do it, but in Argentina everything takes way too long than it should take haha. Everything is way more basic and there is a lack of modern computer systems / structures to speed things up and simplify them. Also a big different is that people live way more from day to day or week to week and dont really think 2-3 steps ahead very often. They live more in the moment. I could name a couple more things but def the traffic in the big cities which is very chaotic ( again lack of structure and people just do whatever) combine this with bad roads.

    As an old retired person - power outages might be a real bad experience I'm not use to here in the US ! -- Not hearing English is not easy with all the illegals speaking Spanish everywhere I go in the US now !!! -- Uncomfortable not understanding a damn word ? -- Those others could be handled I think - even though unique and different. -- Cost of living on my fixed SS income is a bit of concern with the exchange rate so 'unpredictable' in the future ?

    • @DontWonderExplore
      @DontWonderExplore 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello, there usually aren’t power outages in all of the areas, but it is something that I experienced more than a few times while there. If you aren’t interested in learning Spanish it could be a challenge for you, especially if that is how you already feel in the USA. Yes, there are Argentines that speak good English , like the ones who have commented here in English, but I did not experience it being widespread in my time there. Cost of living is variable at the moment. Well, there are 196 something countries out there so if staying in the USA isn’t your first choice you can look elsewhere!! Argentina is a great place to visit and live for some, depending on one’s interests and language skills, but it really all depends on what one is looking for!! All the best

    Our Spanish has a direct influence of Andalucian culture, since most Spaniards that came to these parts of the world were mostly from Andalucía. And the lunfardo comes mostly from Liguria, Calabria and Sicilia. Hence, that's why some people call us Spanish speaking Italians (It was a Fr*nch journalist, tho). I plan on visiting argentina for about 180 days (6 months). Plan to extend it at the 90 day mark like you mention here. My question relates to entering the country at first. Do they check if you have a return flight? Where you are staying for the duration? I am not sure if I book a return flight for 6 months later if it will be an issue, or if they let you in ez pz regardless. Did you have any return flights booked when entering?

    • @DontWonderExplore
      @DontWonderExplore 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey man! Yes, I’ve traveled a lot and this was one of the few times I got asked for onward travel plans! Actually, it’s usually the airline that will ask because they are responsible for returning you to your point of departure if you get refused by immigration. So you’ll probably be asked at your departure airport gate, if you are asked. See my YT short on the channel about more on this!! **they do ask at immigration where you are staying and simply having the address of your hotel, Abnb, hostel suffices! Onward ticket: BOOK a cheap onward ticket fully refundable to Chile, Brasil, or Uruguay and then if you decide not to use that ticket then cancel it after you arrive to your destination. (My advice) Just make sure you see the t & c’s of the “fully-refundable” part so you don’t lose your money, if in fact you aren’t taking that onward flight! Enjoy Argentina!

    I've stayed in Mendoza and Buenos Aires, but never noticed the dog poop problem, even in the park. Maybe the neighborhood? There were lots of cats! I did notice that Argentinos don't stop the party just because the sun's coming up! I thought that the people were the best part of the trip. The hugging part I kinda got used to in Chile, but a friend had to prepare me for the kissing bit, which was very nice once you got over the shock. It was NOT an air kiss! What really shocked me was that all the stores were closed on Saturday in Mendoza, because the store owners were enjoying the weekend.

      Could be. I did travel around many of the barrios and yes some had more poop on the street than others and some had none, but for me the surprise was that I never saw people actually pick up their dogs poop! Yes long parties! 😂 The people are kind!! The kissing part sure is different! Yes the business hours sure are different than bigger cities in the USA for example.

    For you to stay there for one entire year did you need a special visa or is it like Brasil where they have no control over who is there?

    Bienvenidos a tu segundo hogar!! Argentina es un país poblado lleno de inmigrantes como EEUU. Soy salteño, desayuno a las 9 a 10 am, almuerzo de 13 a 14 pm, luego la siesta de 15 a 16 merienda a las 18 a 19 pm, cena 22 a 23 pm.. queda tiempo antes de ir a dormir a las 1 am jajaja, tampoco nos gusta ir con el estómago lleno a la cama. Acá se vive a ritmo pausado y logras conectar con la naturaleza, la ciudad de Salta es de mediana población en comparación con BA pero suficiente para vivir en armonía, agradezco a mis bisabuelos a ver elegido esta hermosa ciudad, llena de costumbres, tradiciones gauchas, tomo mate , vino blanco torrontes, también Malbec 🍷 de Cafayate al sur de la provincia. Argentina es un país pacífico de muy diversos de paisajes y climas. Saludos !

    We have merienda because we sleep from 12 am to 6 am, we need to recharge those lost hours of sleep, so we have this middle-day nap called "siesta" (literal translation of "nap") from 2 pm to 5 pm, but the times depends on the type of person, some people nap much less than that, and some people nap much more (and some people just don't nap at all). When we wake up from a siesta we're kinda hungry, so that's when we have the beautiful merienda at 5-6 pm, and then dinner at 9-10 pm. Edit: And our job schedules are usually divided in two. First half is from 8 am to 1 pm, and second half is from 5 pm to 9 pm. In the middle of the work shifts, during the "siesta" time, all of the stores are closed.

    Siesta? Where in Argentina have you stayed? I live in Buenos Aires, and nobody here takes a nap in the middle of the day, because we all work from 9 to 18. There's one hour in the middle of the day, but it's for having lunch.

    Hola. No sé ingles por lo que espero que entienda mi español… Estaba mirando su video, traductor automático mediante, y me pareció entender que cada 90 días, aproximadamente, sale de Argentina y regresa para poder renovar la residencia ¿es correcto lo que interprete? Suponiendo que sí, me parece que se esta equivocando en ello.. Después de los 90 días puede solicitar una“residencia transitoria” adicional de hasta un año, sin necesidad de salir del país. E, incluso, si cumple los requisitos, puede solicitar la “residencia temporaria” por hasta tres años, la cual tiene el beneficio adicional de proporcionarle el “DNI extranjeros”. Cualquiera sea la modalidad, después de tres años queda habilitado para la “residencia permanente”, la cual es de por vida. El tema, la cuenta regresa a cero cada vez que sale del país, así que su práctica de salir cada 90 días sería contraría a su interés. Saludos desde Neuquén, Argentina.

      Interesante, es el primer extranjero que escucho que hace eso. Ok, espero que reconsidere el trámite y no se sienta obligado a salir tan seguido, porque se supone que no es necesario. Y si piensa vivir por mucho tiempo, evalúe adoptar “residencia temporaria” de hasta tres años y, luego de ello, “residencia permanente” de por vida. Contrario a lo que hace, se supone que tiene que evitar salir del país durante ese periodo de residencia transitoria y temporaria para poder aspirar a la residencia permanente Pero me parece, no estoy seguro, que puede hacer trámites para salir por vacaciones o visitar familiares sin que ello afecte el requisito para obtener los tres años viviendo para obtener la residencia permanente. Se supone que el consultado de su país también puede asesorarlo en ello. Saludos.

      Generalmente 8,5 horas diarias, o 45 horas semanales (sábados sólo la mitad de horas que le resto de los días, y hay quienes hacen sólo de lunes a viernes) son 180 horas mensuales. 8 horas de día en el trabajo, 8 horas durmiendo y descansando y el resto se invierte viajando, compartiendo con familia, o amigos... parece una buena distribución del Tiempo en nuestra Vida cotidiana. Se diría que al día lo dividimos en 3 tercios, ¡como en cualquier otro sitio! Todo dependerá mayormente de la cercanía (o no) al trabajo, la educación formal/ a distancia, los entretenimientos a disposición en el lugar, los medios de transporte (privado/público) etc. La Vida es buena, a veces sabremos disfrutarla, otras... la sobrellevaremos. Y creo que "viviendo se va la Vida" sin importar dónde te encuentres. Cada año le daremos una vuelta al Sol, y nada será eterno. Éxitos.
