    i know this vid is 2 years old but i just got the 2021 690 smcr and i found it interesting that they dont require you to fill the oil filter housing up with oil like they do on my 09 530exc , on that bike manual tells you to lean it over on the side and fill it up i guess the whole point is so that the oil gets sucked up faster and less time the engine is running with no oil flowing and i do notice that the 690 after the oil change when you first fire it up for a good 3 seconds or so the oil light stays on and you can hear a notable difference in the engine noise until oil starts flowing i guess it would be kinda a pain to fill the oil filter housing since there are 2 of them on opposite sides lmao

    I see a Michelin Pilot road 4 at the rear, nice tire 👍 wet and dry grip is really good, and on the road you get a nice even wear, probably not the best for trackdays...

      I've found it great so far. The bike feels even more nimble with it. I've got a trackday in a couple weeks so I'll see how I get on with it!!

      JALAL AMICO service interval is 6,000 miles. I done mine just before 5,000. No harm in doing it early and only cost £60!!

    oil level is at the top of the red ring before or after warmed up?

    • @Twedymoto
      @Twedymoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Done it a few more times since this video! What I do now is fill it so that it's between the top and bottom of the red ring then run it for a few mins, let it settle then top it up to the top of the red ring 👍

      @@Twedymoto alot of people say to run the engine for 2 mins then let it sit for 1 min then check the level which should be around the half way mark

      As long as the level is between the bottom and top of the red line, all is good. 👍 I let as much drain down as possible so I don't over fill it. Not that much more is going to come down from the head anyway.

    Where did you get the filters kit?

    • @Twedymoto
      @Twedymoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Got them from my dealer mate. They do a filter kit that has both filters and screens.

      @@Twedymoto Do you need to change screens every time or can they be cleaned and reused? Also is it normal to have metal in oil? Thanks, for the great video!

    • @Twedymoto
      @Twedymoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jimmytheshark86 You can get away with cleaning them and reusing. Clean them in petrol or something and make sure they're free of any debris, especially on the inside of the screen! I just replace them as i'm lazy and they come with the kit anyway. It's completely normal to get some metal shavings in the screens and on the magnetic sump but if there's lumps you may have issues lol.

    Using Philips screwdriver on torx screws... How to strip my shit 101! :-D

    • @Twedymoto
      @Twedymoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where? I've never used a Philips on a torx head. Only screw driver in this video is the one I used to pop the filter covers off.
