      I've used this product before. Used it fixed my wallet recently. The patch has been on for well over 6 months and it's still holding on.
      I have also made other repairs in the past with this stuff it just works.

      Instead of stencilling on the patch side... why don't you mark the backing? Then you don't need to worry about inside outside the line/leaving marker on the patch.

      I have had good luck with the pre-cut self-adhesive patches. You may want to try them and link to them if they work out for you.

    Thanks for the video. Yes circles are the best way or at least rounded corners for those patches that are longer. They stay on better and blend in. Straight lines rarely blend in well. Another tip: dry cleaners will refill your down items. So if you do lose too many feathers check to see if your local dry cleaner will refill it.

    I've been trying to fix my (down?) Jacket that has a hole in it from my dog jumping on me excitedly and tearing it. I've been really nervous to repair my jacket because I wasn't sure how to. @@ethanelectric1024 those old Army tents were made of cotton duck material. VERY sturdy and "waterproof". I was told that when you rub on the inside of them when wet, the material collapses on itself and allows water to pass thru. Mr. Wranglerstar,
    I recently discovered your channel. I find it to be very interesting, informative, and inspiring. Perhaps you could do a video about the importance of community when it comes to homesteading, the differences between being totally remote vs closer to other homesteaders/off-gridders, and what to look for when looking for a place to start a homestead with regards to the people/community you want to surround yourself with

  • @Aspie_Geek_UK
    @Aspie_Geek_UK 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    We wear those style of jackets in the UK as well, so that tip is useful this side of the "pond" as well. Listening to the stories are great and I love watching the Homestead videos, you're a very interesting guy Cody. One thing I do have to say though is that I'm missing the Amazon style reviews, you bring a huge amount of humour to these and in fact it was one of these that first got me onto your channel! I love it when you test something to destruction and then take the mickey out of it, its something you are very good at. Please consider putting more of them back into your channel, even if its only 1 every month or couple of months.

    Those down jackets with the thin material were originally supposed to be used as a liner with a hard shell jacket over top, since the material is so vulnerable to damage. Somewhere along the line, it became a fad to wear them as the outer jacket.

    If you put the tape inside the hole you won't see the patch at all. That way you can also use any color tape since it's under the repair. Takes more precision to close the rip exactly right but looks much better unless you can get tape that exactly matches your jacket.
