GoW1 had the best gnasher and headshot sound effects, as well as the best gore. I loved how bodies would get completely destroyed by gnasher shots.
The fact that people have never played this game even before is prime just baffles me. This is history right here, the best gears of war game, hands-down this is where it all started glitches inconsistencies and all this game is fucking amazing.
Its almost worth playing just for the luck element. Getting a gib or headshot is like playing a slot machine in this game when you're not host 😂
Crab walk, kung flu flip, skydiving. Those glitches were so fun to do. Used to play this like crazy back in middle school w my buddies

I don't care what anyone says, Gears 1 will always be my hands down favorite gears for online. Its dark, gritty, and the shotgun and sniper are so satisfying to use.

SO nostalgic to watch GOW online play. Easily my favorite online game of all time. I was never that good at it, but, I loved getting online with the boys and playing for hours. I'm 32 now, and it's beyond crazy to think it was half my life ago when the game came out. If i could go back in time to experience anything in my life, playing prime gears online would be high on the list haha. Love the content man!

Man the nostalgia. I remember the common way to kill an enemy from behind that you flanked, was to 2 piece them, best way to secure a kill from a proper flank. Also, I remember playing a ranked match back in the day and a teammate telling me the secret to double melee somebody down with the shotty, since at the time, it was common belief that you couldn't double melee with the shotgun.

Long video for sure, but my question is , what difficulty and are you gonna co-op? You're hilarious as is and when you play with friends it brings even more out of you. Not saying that you don't try in your solo videos because those are definitely awesome.

I know a lot of people are recommending one long video but I think multiple videos will actually better for both you and the audience. I think it'll be better for viewers since youtube is shit at keeping track of how much of a video someone watches. Its not realistic for someone to watch the whole session in one sitting and some people may get distracted and forget to finish. Where if you made smaller videos, it would be easier to consume in chunks while also helping you keep track of what parts you have watched. I would imagine you would get more cumulative views/clicks with incremental videos as well. You can always make a playlist people can make if they want to easily watch them all in succession if thats what they like. Just my thoughts but love your videos either way icy

Worth it, I had to play Gears 3 for a few months until they fixed the OG but now its paying off.
what do you think of a modern gears game w center screen shots rather than shots coming out of the barrel ? I think it would fix a lot of problems that are going on w cover n what not
TC would either bring it as is, which brings back backpacking, or they do what they did in UE, which is what made players feel more spongy then they were, since the bullets came out the barrel and out to the center screen.
They're probably better off sticking to barrel based shooting.

I was expecting Icy to do a bunch of videos on the campaign. Maybe 1 chapter at a time, spreading it every 1 or 2 days. Easy Opportunities for talking points, more focused. 1 long video could be cool. I’ll be watching regardless.

Host is so cheap, yes. You are virtually unstoppable as host, so ridiculous but it is what it is. This is what it was at the time.fps boost helps this game a lot if you have a Series X. Custom game is how you find games.
that's where the term "4 pointed" came from if anyone didn't know. you could clown people so hard with melee's in this game. I think this is the most balanced gears of war game imo except active scope. They should bring back center-screen aiming for the over the cover battles which are lacking in the newer games. And if they bring the medal system back from gears 3 it should include backpacks
Either each act per video, or simply seperate the acts into TH-cam chapters.

Gears 5 players haven't experienced the original gears series especially 1 it was never talked bout recently besides gears 2 or 3 now everyone is going back to it now smh i knew the ganes worth when i first played it even times I'd do split screen since i had no connection to internet. I appreciated amazing games like this while others forgot...

@@michaelhansen8959I'm just guessing here, but it might be aspects from the campaign carrying over to the host. The host might be balanced around it since the Locust can tank more shots and deal more damage.
@@michaelhansen8959there's latency when your not host, shots hit later, some pellets and shots don't register, etc. When your host what you see is what you get. You shoot someone all shots hit instantly. So you do more damage more consistently than anyone else in the lobby
Host or not, that's some 'tism movement meta. You would crush just about anyone on the game.
3 rounders count towards the leaderboards. They are glitched, 5 rounders and up don’t count towards leaderboards and stats will not count.
Trying to play gears 2, but it crashes as soon as it boots up! Any recommendations?
Your profile is glitched, that glitch is as old as the game and never got fixed, you have 2 options.
Create a new account just for gears2
Or look for a solution in internet (there's a glitch to reset your progress which also solves the problem) but I'm not sure if you can pull off that glitch in newer generation consoles, loading times are so fast

Everything is preference but if you're good at it alternate is the way to go!
