I truthfully liked the fact that the album included a low variety of artists. Made it feel more in sync and cohesive unlike DJ Khaled’s albums where he just takes every artist he can find and slaps them on songs with no rhyme or reason.

To your point about Metro not taking a risk with new/unique artists to expand his sound: he himself said in an interview with Ebro last week that he wanted the album to feel like a movie, with recurring main characters. He even acknowledges that he could flex and get anyone he wants on it, but he wanted it to sound cohesive. I think he achieved that.

Raindrops has that nighttime drive vibe (reminds me of MAFIA), trance is that psychedelic feeling, and Niagara Falls is simply a banger.

The reason that it’s repeated artists is because of the heroes and villains theme. There is a set of heroes Don Toliver, Future and John Legend and a set of villains 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Young thug, Young Nudy etc. I think the whole album is to show the battle between the two sides. Hence why Metro made the posters and asked what side people thought each artist was on. Like so he sees!

Loved this album, I’d personally give it an 8/10, also Trance needs to make the best tracks list cus that song so just so damn good! Metro went absolutely insane on the production. Only complaint is I wish there was more variety in the features, but I think everyone came with good performances. Whole album feels like a movie. There wasn’t a song I thought was bad on this album, but Lock On Me definitely felt redundant since Travis had the same flow as Niagara Falls but it just wasn’t as good on Lock On Me, weakest beat too. Overall loved the album, glad you liked it too Anthony.

I somewhat agree with your Travis point, but I feel like the only glaring dud on this album was Lock On Me. I liked Raindrops, felt so-so about Niagra Falls, and loved Trance. I think my highlights of this album are On Time and Superhero (On Time solely because of the Homelander and Morgan Freeman features), Thug's flow on Metro Spider, 21 Savage and Nudy's chemistry on Umbrella, Travis' little bridge at the end of Trance (idk what else to call it), and just the entirety of Feel the Fiyaaah. I loved Metro's sample and overall production on that track, plus Rocky's flow and cadence fit into the track like a puzzle piece. Takeoff did what he always did (Rest In Peace): he came in and delivered an amazing verse with great flow and his recognizable cadence. He didn't try to do anything out of his resume, like deliver a hook. I liked the length of his verse and loved how he wove the entire alphabet into it, and I can't forget to mention his ad-libs which elicit a different emotion from me since his passing. I'm commenting all of this six months after the album's release, and I can confirm this has a lot of replay value for me. I come back to most of the songs quite frequently. I'd rate this a light to mid-9.
