Travis has had some quality features lately but as a diehard Travis fan this album got me so excited for Utopia, he just killed it and I feel like Utopia will have a similar enough vibe to the tracks he was featured on this album
Yeah the features were solid but I feel like he gon bring the heat out of the vault for utopia ngl
I definitely feel the same way. As a big Travis Scott fan, he gave a solid/good.. definitely better than decent performance but it made me think that he’s going to make magic with Utopia and bring everything that we love about Travis there.
Im a diehard travis fan too but down in atlanta was underwhelming. Hope Utopia will be better

The Travis features sounds like his old self. He seriously surprised me as a long time fan.
Almost a perfect album imo, the production was what I expected and it was so cinematic it was amazing, all the features were good and fit with the songs (besides 21 on creepin), but I wish there was a little more variety in who was featuring together

21 savage couldn't hold his own in these r&b centric cuts that are far pass his limitations same with the Drake album that's not his lane
Personally I was really impressed by the way 21 shifted his normal style to fit the track and I’m happy that he was on it for sure
I mean they had The Weeknd on most of the song and he just randomly pops up at the end is what messed it up

Definitely has potential to be album of the year for me. This was so enjoyable. Obviously the production was immaculate, definitely up there for best production this year. I thought the features were incredible… Don Toliver had some of his best performances I’ve heard from him. I thought Travis was absolutely incredible and I love the role he played when it came to the tracklist he has a bunch of my favourite songs on there. I thought future was amazing as well bringing some of the best performances I’ve heard from him in a while. young thug really brought it as well with his verses. I love how you boys mentioned Metro Spider because that track the first 30 seconds I wasn’t sure because of his off beat rapping but then he started sliding and it’s now one of my favourites on the record. I thought 21 had hit and miss moments on this record. There were moments where he slid but there were many more moments where he was a bit underwhelming. Then Asap obviously delivered and the melodic singing performances from breezy, John Legend, and Mustafa I thought were nice as well. And the Gunna track was nice too. Also Abel was amazing as always, that song was beautiful. And then I thought the transitions from song to song were immaculate as well and it really elevated my overall listening experience. All in all this album was one of the most if not the most enjoyable listen of 2022 for me. I feel like this album has a lot of standouts as well and I think and I hope this will be very successful because it deserves to be.
This can be 4th MAXIMUM for Album of the year. The Forever Story, MMESYF and MMTBS are locked in top 3 automatically. Also 2000, Drill music in Zion, Tana Talk 4 are all arguably better. It's a great album but not in the aoty argument

Not what I expected from the reaction tbh😂 expected the boys to praise the hell out of this album and give it some perfect ratings but I guess everyone got their own opinion. Definitely one of the albums of the year behind Forever story in my opinion.
The end of that Takeoff alphabet rhyme scheme was ridiculous. And i really feel like it went over a lot of heads. “(O)ut the country pushing (P), it’s (Q)uiet (R)ight now in the (S)treets, (T)rick or treat, cause I had bought her (U)h (V), Why (W and Y) wouldn’t I when you get money to spend? No sleep, (X) out the (Z)’s”

You guys did not talk enough about Trance. That song is my favourite on the album and that violin coming in at the end is heavenly. This song is another reason why Travis and Thug NEVER miss together
Young Thug's verse alone was the best part of the whole album.
The point of the album is to be a return to form for these artist, and they are saving the new shit for their own solo albums. i think it’s an amazing album

unpopular opinion. i have not heard the entire album but after hearing that 21 ft the weeknd track otw home i was so pissed off. that hook imo was weak asl based off how so uninspired it was. i was feeling the production when i heard it again with headphones but the hook kills me cause it’s the exact same thing with the exact same melody, nothing new. n don’t even get me started w that 21 savage verse. i’m a fan of both artists. especially 21 savage, as i’ve been one for years on years. n i’ve grown up

the hook honestly just killed the vibe for me n then 21 took it to a new low w the funny bars lol. idk i just feel like much more could’ve been done. as a musician myself, when i bump others music i take notes n i think about how they incorporate the old into the new n i try my best to flip it n do the same. nowadays people are just slapping samples on shii, not doing nothing new w em when it comes to the usage either vocally or instrumentally but it jus blows up. some of it is fire but music is at a weird point rn. i can’t be the only one who notices it, at least when it comes to the mainstream rap game 🤷🏽♂️💯

Thug, Carti, uzi, Travis, future, gunna, baby etc, pop smoke was also bringing back gangsta rap in a gen dominated by feminine rappers. We were definitely robbed of an all time legend with the death of pop smoke
Not to mention how incredibly versatile pop smoke was being able to master and drop banger after banger in countless genres. And he was only 20 years old and rapping for 18 months man rip pop smoke I wish he was still alive man
The Sample being abandoned in the umbrella track was a good idea cause it would be grabbed attention and put more emotion into the track
Metro made so many incredible chess moves in this one:
1. Most of the songs are meant for the summer so by that time 2023 most of these songs are gonna be bumping everywhere!
2. The Travis Scott inclusion feeds all of us La Flame fans and gets us stoked for Eutopia
3. Giving every artist a role for the arc of the project ( Thugger n Travis were more the heroic, upbeat ones whole Future n 21 were the villans)
This is arguably the best produced project of the year as well. Metro is a legend at this point in his career! 💐
The only people I wait for after any album are NFR and Fantano. Gems♥️

Takeoff went crazy and had the catchiest (maybe not the best) verse on the album. His alphabet rhyme scheme went dumb. LONG LIVE THE ROCKET
0 misses, AOTY contender, also the take that 21 sucks on Creepin is absolutely awful. Thugger has the best performances on the album, he killed Trance and absolutely snapped on Metro Spider. I love this album.
Unpopular opinion : Lock on me> Niagara Falls
Album was GREAT to me. 8.5 for me. Some of the cuts were ok but it had enough to keep me engaged. It did not fall off towards the end. It has 5 to 6 songs right now I can play and be satisfied to listen to multiple times. Future was A1 on this.

Personally, I found this album to be a step down from Not All Heroes Wear Capes. Everyone did good, especially Don Toliver on Too Many Nights, but the production felt a lot less unique this time around.
"Niagara Falls" was leaked like 2-3yrs ago. I preferred the OG beat instead of what metro did on the album, that's just me. For Walk Em Down, I absolutely loved 21's performance but the moment Mustafa came on he killed the vibe so much I had to skip it. It should a been its own song.
Don Tolliver was the best on the album fs
This is the first Metro album I have listened to in whole. I enjoyed parts of it, however I thought the production was weak in parts, most of the features were good but some were quite lacklustre. I also thought the theme of heroes and villains could have been pulled off better.

I would have to disagree with Travis’ impact on this album. All the songs were definitely decent but Niagara Falls is an old songs and all his other tracks kinda sounded like a remix to Niagara falls. Other than that your videos are amazing! Love from the hometown mtl 🤞🏼

I really enjoyed this album. Obviously the production was insane by metro🔥 U can never go wrong with don tolivers vocals and melodic sound. Future killed it especially on superhero as well as thugger on metro spider. 21 savage shouldn't have been on the weeknd track but absolutely murdered it with nudy on umbrella. The best produced song was definitely feel the fiyahhh with great performances by rocky and the late great take🚀 9/10 for me🔥🔥🔥
