I believe this should appeal to your curiosity. There is a map called crashz' Viewmodel Generator on the workshop and on the right of the main board you can change the movement of your character. The lowest setting will give you practically no animation.

Lol dust is not made by valve. Csgo was made as a half life mod and later bought by valve as an actual game. The mod dev made de dust and de dust 2 but is not an actual employee of valve

Nuke is always at the top, but Mirage and Inferno could get switched back and forth (or in some cases be replaced by Cache or Overpass.)
nuke is completely shit because it ct sided and you have to walk in a straight fucking line for 20 minutes at the start of the game

LummyTum Mathematically, Nuke is certainly CT sided, but in practice I've found T has a tendency to win. Nuke's map design allows the use of deceptions and confusion tactics, resulting in more varied gameplay.
That long walk in the beginning of each round is definitely something that needs to be changed. (But while it's here it does let you practice your bhops! :p)
I love Dust 2, but I don't like playing it 5, 6, and 7 times in a row.
I wish Valve would allow you to repeat a map once, but then remove it from voting for the next match or two, just so some of the other maps could get some love.

I really like nuke, and the reasons for that are the reasons you mentioned why it's bad.
Espacially the many entrances to the bomb sides making no match like another and you're thrilled when you push into A and first have to check all the spots.
The thing I agree on is the long walk at the start.
3kliksphilip I enjoy using the ledge on nuke as a terrorist in the lobby area. If the CTs decide to rush from the ramp area, a good rifle or a p90 will decimate them. It's a good spot for defending, but not for rushing, which is the overall goal of the Terrorists. Nuke really isn't a great map, but it's still fun to play
My problem is that it is nearly impossible to push a bomb site well on T-side without coordinating flashes and smokes. And that is nearly impossible in a match with ransoms

+Lukas Maier My biggest issue with Nuke is that the verticality is a fun aspect, but not with ladders as a main method of movement, and not on top of the bombsites. I've seen rounds lost simply because someone couldn't tell which bombsite the bomb was dropped in via radar. Also, the big accuracy penalty and general vulnerability of ladders makes no one want to change position unless they have to.

miksu it doesn't matter which side would dominate in competitive really. you switch side at half game but yes if you started off on the harder side you feel pressured if did badly. However if we remove the long ass straight forward running away from spawn from both sides. I think it would make the map more interesting.

"de_dust 2 is balanced, wich makes it better than de_nuke"... D2 is almost as T-sided as nuke is CT-sided. On nuke you want 4-5 rounds as a T while on D2 you want 5-6 rounds as a CT.
D2 is not t-sided.

I tried to not appear to try but all in all, I was trying too hard to not try so I ended up trying.
I actually do hate dust 2 simply because that i played it too many times and that is do to 99% of all the maps i get being dust 2 but now the same thing is happening to cache which i love but because i played a lot of, it's starting to get annoying as well (not on the same level as dust 2 tho) and my favorite map is definitely italy because i rarely get it and it's one of the oldest maps in cs:go and btw when i got cs:go after some time i noticed that there we're barely any cs:s maps and that got me very disapointed to the point where i would pay dlc just to get all those maps back. If you read trough this shit than here's a cookie *gives cookie*.
I hate dust 2 ... I mean there are practically 2 weapon choices: AWP or AK47/M4 ... and then the camping begins...

when I was a kid playing 1.6 against bots with no internet I loved this map. I played by myself completely isolated from the CS community I still thought it was BY FAR the best map. I assumed it was just me who loved it so much.

+Nick Taylor I kinda like it, well depending on how good the enemy is. At a high level, every nook and cranny of that map becomes crucial. Those pop flashes are the flashes that win the round and countering them could mean winning as well. locking down the sites becomes crucial and every death could be the game changer. at this point the games starts to become more about strategy than skill, but skill still being the deciding factor in gun battles

Since the cs go map is actually a big part of the game unlike a basketball court (cuz a basketball court isn't something to pay attention to as much as you have to pay attention to a csgo map. I know you know the map makes a big difference unlike a basketball court which pretty much is the same layout but doesn't rly have a role to your gameplay cuz you just need enough space to actually host a game and keep the hoop in one spot)
So back to what I was saying
Since the cs go map has a bigger role to your gameplay than a basketball court to an athlete's gameplay, you'll get bored more doing the same thing over and over
It's like saying to shoot 1000 hoops and not get bored of it unless you have a goal in mind or actually enjoy an aspect of it ykno

I hate Dust 2 for a variety of reasons.
1) It's ridiculously overplayed. It kind of pisses me off that with so many interesting maps in the game, people cling so much to Dust 2. You can find a comp match for dust 2 in seconds, and wait 10+ minutes to play on cobblestone, or any of the operation maps or hostage maps.
2) It's too wide and open. There are too many places in the map without a single cover spot. It renders short range weapons completely useless, makes the AWP way too strong. There's not a single spot in the relevant areas of the map where you can sucessfully protect yourself from an AWPer.
3) It's all about direct fire. Let's face it, Dust 2 is a map that in the end is all about who can shoot better. Strategy, positioning, rotations, lurking and whatnot are not nearly as important in Dust 2 as is winning the firefights. It's nearly impossible to flank someone on Dust2, and almost always everytime you find yourself facing an enemy, he'll be facing you as well.
4) The good spots are few, and obvious. This is partly because everyone knows Dust 2 like the palm of their hands, and partly because the map has so few places to take cover in. There's no space for creativity, and every single one of the few decent positioning spots on Dust 2 is totally obvious and will be instantly checked, leaving no space for creativity.
Well, that was my rant. And while I do agree with you that Nuke is a fairly flawed and unbalanced map, at least it's more interesting and allows for more creative play than Dust2.

About the flanking part , you can flanking an enemy if you go thought the gates, then thought the hole, and this can be devestating for the other team if you have a negev
I basicly got 9 kills (90% precent of team) in one round by doing this by flashing thought gates, killing somebody with a tec-9 and then at the hole, killing the CTs that there too bothered by people that where rushing b normaly
well nothing is worse than mirage. large open areas on every spot you want to go to which encourages players to camp and hardscope arround nearly everywhere the time it takes to rotate and get into contact with the enemy is waaaaaay too long compare it to dust 2 you jump down from the a site and theres a good chance that you will catch a few T's sitting in window or protecting door while on mirage you have to run into kitchen where you are gonna be hardscoped to death couse the area is way to wide and you can be shot from both window and kitchen. plus retakes are fairly hard due to the long ways you have to run to reach the site meaning if the Ts planted there and took down the 2 guys on the site they can tell pretty much exactly where the rest of them are gonna come from so once again its gonna go down to hardscoping. Lets not even start with the hacking problems on that map couse its just ridiculus. and last but not least you cant win on the map if you dont have a team thats working together well.
so yeah dust might not be flawless but its a fairly decent map compared to the other Big Boy. if i could change one thing on dust it would be the mid doors they should overlap couse everytime you run or jump through them you will get shot and i wont waste my hard earned money for a stupid smoke.

In my opinion, Dust II has way too many long range locations, with almost no close quarters areas. Plus, it is SO overplayed. You can NEVER play ANY active duty casual game and expect to not be in Dust II only.

Short, Tunnels, parts of B site, outside long, blue+pit area. inside CT, mid doors CT side. These are all short-mid range.
I can understand Dust II can be frustrating if you have trouble aiming :P
If you are eco and using a shotgun/smg I suggest setting up an ambush. Camping behind doors for example.
Iorveth Don't try doing that in LE or above ranks, you're gonna die for sure, experienced players will always remember to check corners and use a flashbang to get through places like this you're standing so you're gonna get into a deep trouble just trying to camp behind a door or a common spot like this one.
dust2 is overplayed to a crazy degree and for that reason I don't like it. I find it an okish map but not outstanding. It is definitely the benchmark to describe other maps against because it is incredibly balanced, but it doesn't really have any special gameplay flavour. Nuke is exciting for its urban like sharp corridor walls repeatedly turning 90 degrees interspread with large areas hugely dangerous to the t side. Especially prior to CSGO it felt very different for its imbalance knowing the match would be t side constantly struggling for money in the hopes of getting just a few rounds won before playing CT with unlimited money yet terrified of losing even a single round.
Train has to be my favourite map, its incredibly busy, full of long and short range areas and is based around strong CT positions and insanely rapid T movement allowing a switch of strategies or complicated strats forcing that strong CT defence to become disorganised.
And aztec, almost exclusively long ranged. I've always struggled a little on aztec, especially site B. The map can rapidly turn into a meat grinder for the T side, but after a pick or two rapidly changes its fortunes. Of course there are a lot more maps, but nearly every map has its own character, its playstyle and feel. Dust2 on the other hand is incredibly balanced and a great map, but because it is near perfectly balanced in all areas it also lacks the character other maps have. Now that might be because I've overplayed it and then some, but either way at this point I'd rather play 5 games on 5 different half decent maps than 5 games of dust2.

DUST II is Overplayed, and Overrated... It is my Opinion, but let's be honest here...
Every game needs something to be overplayed and overrated. Dust 2 is a simple map with everything on the internet for you to learn easily, and that is a very big thing imo.
I think its a great map for noobs like me and Phillip made some really good points in this video, I understand that youre entitled to your own opinion, but people constantly hate on what's popular so i dont usually like it when people comment stuff like this

You didn't even speak of the four square map layout. I think that's Dust2's greatest asset. Each route has two equally fast ways to get there, and a multitude of ways around, each with advantages and disadvantages. This layout also makes it easier for players to recognize areas, unlike Nuke's mess. It's one of the reasons I don't play Nuke much: It's so confusing.

Great, so then the only place T's can go is inside in to A, which is a clusterfuck because there are approximately 6.3 million hiding places for the CT's to sit and wait. Also, heaven is often camped by an AWP so there's also that.
Nuke is severely unbalanced and similarly to Train, needs a rework... And not just graphically.

Nuke=Checkfest where you need to check like 50,000 different places on A site. As for B site it's slightly less but still a pretty big checkfest. Don't forget, you can rotate in approximately 2 seconds
D2=Check fewer corners on both sites combined when compared to one of nukes sites
The only problem with dust2, particularly seen in CS:S is all the AWPers that fire down the center of the map 2 seconds in

Shooting through the door doesn't account for his statistic since you're aiming where he's going to be once you manage to react.

I think one of the reasons dust2 is so popular is because it's easy and good for beginners. Not to mention dust was pretty popular, wasn't it? Used to be my 3rd favourite map back in the CS:S days, office and assault being 1 and 2 respectively lol
Has anyone else ever done a hostage level in Comp? They're actually really fun, and even though Ive only done Italy and Assault. They're hard to find games on, but the maps are so cool!

guys nuke is too ct sided. theres no way you could get more than 5 rounds as a terrorist with very good players. only if the CT's are marshmallows.
unlike dust 2 where you could have a chance to win as terrorist, plus if you dont throw a few smokes and flashes, you could get mowed down easily by CT.
But cache is just perfect. One little mistake as you make on both sides and you loose. Its the best map ever made. Easy middle, easy life.
Ct sided or not I like the challenge that is playing t on nuke, plus there being 20 different ways to enter a site makes it different from any other map.

I agree. Personally I have no idea how somebody created Nuke, looked at it for a while and then said "yeah this is a good, well made, fund and balanced map". If you only think for 5 seconds you find heavy flaws in every area of the map.
Personally I don't like dust 2 either because it often turns into an awp deathmatch but I agree that it is a very good map. However cache is also my personal favourite. I think it is the most balanced and fun map of all. Maybe a little bit ct sided which every defuse map should be.

I have a question: You seem like someone who isnt so stubborn as most cs players who only play dust2, inferno, mirage and nuke (and cache). So I wondered what do you think about the other maps? Which arent played competitively? Personaly I love Italy for example and Dust1.

I think this comes from a desire to play the game in the most purely competitive way. Really it comes down to what you're getting out of the game. I play almost exclusively for the competitive aspect which means I'll stick to the maps that are the most balanced and played in the pro circuit.
This makes it hard to determine if the other maps are good or not or to review them since if you're not going for competition the criteria for what's "good" is really varied.
PliskinGaming The thing is, a lot of competitive players won't even try new maps. They'll never give a chance to newer things in the circuit. Imagine if you could have 10 to 12 maps in the circuit. It would give even more chance to people playing since you could get really good on a map that another team hasn't really practice.
It also brings back raw skills in the game. When you have so much map that you can only know them really well, rather than know precisely where to aim because his head is going to pop up there. You know the map really well, but still has to rely on your raw skills in firefights cause you can't possibly know every flaw in every map, because there is so many. I would like a lot to see that.
safe house and bank are awesome maps. Playing them with bots makes me wish more higher level players play demolition.

From my experience I would say de_nuke is a clutch / comeback map. You can win a first half 13-2 and lose 13-15. Because of it's "one-sidedness" people get too comfortable with one side and mess up after halftime. Although Bomb plants in nuke are significantly harder in de_nuke, once you plant the bomb you've got some pretty high advantage.
Nuke reminds me of a seesaw of sorts, in that if one team just begins to do well, it can completely throw off the other team. Dust 2 is much more stable and steady.
Nuke is steady too if you know how to play it and are at a decent rank. It's much harder to win T side but not 13-2 hard...

How can anyone complain about camping on a bomb defuse map? I understand phil's views on nuke, but on d2 (and really any bomb map) camping isn't a problem. CT's are SUPPOSED to camp and defend. That is literally the point of the map. If T's camp, so what? CT's can just sit tight and let the T's give themselves less and less time to work their way into sites.

Liarra Sniffles Ehrm why not? everyone in pro scene does it, I really like that you have an option to either rush into a site/lane or play it slow, get picks, then chose a side. It's silver mentality that you should always have to rush everywhere, it's not even interesting.
Rebuild Scape by camping, I don't mean playing smart and waiting for an opportunity to strike, I mean sitting in spawn on nuke till it's too late to reach a bomb site and hoping the ct push. Pros rotate all over the map to keep the other team guessing and punishing them for bad calls. Campers sit in one spot until they get shot in the back or the time runs out.
Holding an angle is good, but turning off your awareness and sitting in the same spot all game is rarely a good idea. If you snipe a t and stay in the same place, they will probably preshoot you, but staying in one spot till time runs out regardless of your teams position is a no no. Unless you are on ct.
Remember, holding a site or area isn't camping, sitting in a corner until the timer runs out despite you knowing that the whole enemy team is fighting for control of the other site, is camping.
I just turned into a Dust 2 hater. And let me explain why.
When playing Casual On CS:GO i 95% of the time enter a server with Dust 2 on it And when you try to change the map People will always say NO NO NO NO. And call me a noob because i started a vote to change a map. I am telling them back that i am sick of playing Dust 2 only i like to play other maps! Not just dust 2... dust 2 is a good map but it's nothing special! Cache or Nuke for example are amazing maps. Also. In Dust 2 In casual i always feel Forced to go to A rather then B since The Terrorist team have 90% of AWP's and auto snipers making the game play BS.
Also the Terrorist team has half of it teams camping with it's AWP's and auto-snipers. On competitive it's fine but lots of people get the 7 day cooldown and then they go play casual for the next week on Dust 2 Having a horrible time.
And as you said: You don't want to encourage terrorist to camp near there spawn. Well i can tell you i have played MANY games on Dust 2 and and majority of the rounds the terrorist did in fact Camp near there spawn.

Yeah but you have the problems of having a flawed cooldown system. Where you can get it on the most stupid things... People wont wait a week or whatever until there ban is gone to play in competetive again. They will go play in casual that is just not fun to me.

Also it's amazing how hard it is sometimes to find a competetive match... you want to a find a match in other maps and it takes FOREVER. then you give up and just choose Dust 2. And it the match making servers found you a match in under 5 seconds! While for a game on Nuke it took me almost 4 min to find a match...

They wont even play other maps they call all other maps shit and i bet none of them where even played by the. When i have a cooldown i go to Casual to try to have fun on the game. I love Dust 2 but it can be very overplayed, 95% of the deathmatch games I join are playing on Dust 2 and it's played a lot in casual and competitive as well.

voeties When Source was released, I didn't like it that much because it felt like a different game. CSS was "meh" compared to 1.6.
But if the CS1.6 community is "dead" now, it's because Valve did a good job on CS:GO.
No rag doll physics for enviroment, so you can place small covers around the map, wich is nice. They embraced the competitive scenario without taking away the fun from casual player. And, microtransactions are an extra element for people that like to spend cash on things, without making it p2w.
I can agree if you say CSS is not as good as CS 1.6. But CS:GO is a real improvement over CS 1.6, no doubts.

ive played since late 2001 i cant remember the first time i played dedust2.. but ive always hated the map and i still do, its a tside map in 1.6 though. i just picked up csgo 1week ago and it seems like people only want to play this map for some reason, if i log into 1.6 there 100s of nukes/trains/infernos, inferno is my fav map but it feel so much changed from 1.6 i guess i just have to get used to it though.

I just think this guy is talking out of his ass.
Not for this video only, but for others as well. His videos are very opinionated instead of giving the facts and letting the crowd choose for itself. They most times end up going off to topics that are vaguely related to the video's title or his point.
As an example, he made a video something along the lines of "Worst players ever", where he was making another player mad. He had a 3 minute flashback to his CS:S clans and how he was mistreated. I couldn't even understand what the video was about anymore. When he actually did make the connection to the video it had absolutely no value to his actions as he didn't show himself stopping the "trolling" of the other player. I think that's a completely different video and felt like a jammed and scripted speech all the way through.
As for his views on Nuke, I can understand why he doesn't like the map. Maps are purely preferential. But, anyone can talk badly about areas of the map. There are many spots in Dust II that feel tedious like the crates after T spawn in B-side. Or when it's a 1v5 and the terrorist is hiding in the left side of T spawn. On Nuke, you mention the roof area. Well, while that area is a hiding spot for a saving player, it does serve a purpose in the game, like everything. You can get an early wall-bang pick off at a Counter-Terrorist if they are at heaven, which takes a lot of game sense and ups the skill ceiling in this map. You can also come down to sandbags, and go up onto marshmallow which can be the saving grace to taking outside as Terrorist.
Bottom line, I think your videos are... confusing. While you do have a lead for an interesting video, you end up going into topics that aren't getting across that point.

Jerry Cannon Even though this comment is 4 months old, I find Dust 2 to be too simplistic. I find Mirage better with all the possibilities and it just feels better. Dust 2 and Nuke seem to almost be on par with me, Nuke just a slight bit more in my opinion. It's also a bit more fun to mess around on Nuke than Dust 2 for me.

I love Aztec which is even more CT sided than Nuke. Aztec can actually also be heavily T sided if you know the map well enough. There is simply a lot more strategy involved in Aztec on the T side and that makes it a lot more fun.

My friends and I all dislike Dust 2. Nuke is our first choice, and Mirage and Inferno are our second and third picks. Why? We feel Dust 2 is oversimplified and focuses on speed and accuracy as opposed to strategic play, often resulting in run-and-gun gameplay or sniper battles. Nuke is a bit more complex (without being overcomplicated like some of the Bloodhound operation maps), with more places to enter and exit from, resulting in a more tense situation when attempting to hold a site as an enemy is capable of using diversions and confusion tactics, as well as coming from almost anywhere. It also gives more opportunity for different (and occasionally less popular) weapons to be used to great effect.

I agree with you’re opinion on nuke. I think it’s too confusing and I always get lost in the corridors and vents without finding a way out. The sites are also too open and have too many entrance points. There is no good spot where I don’t have to worry about being hit from behind.
You clearly wrong about complexity of the map, Nuke is far more complex than dust 2 for example taking bomb site A at nuke require more teamwork and map knowledge (throw flash from roof window to rush a, not simply rush in)

I personally really enjoy Nuke, I always think of Bombsite A being the kind of middle area, or Outside.
I remember first playing dust 2 on prop hunt gmod. Such nostalgia. Much cry. Dust 2 will always be the best map in csgo, then mirage.
