Transforming Recycling | Container Return Scheme - At home

More than 2 billion drinks are sold every year in New Zealand but less than half of these are recycled. Some countries in Europe recycle almost all of their beverage containers - we need to catch up!
We're consulting on a proposed Container Return Scheme (CRS) to encourage people to return their drink containers for recycling in exchange for a small refundable deposit. This will increase the recycling of drink containers, reduce litter and reduce emissions.
