ENGLISH HOUSE TOUR | Skye McAlpine's Gorgeous London Townhome

- Renowned cookbook author and Tavola founder Skye McAlpine welcomes us into her enchanting Victorian home in the heart of Southwest London.
When Skye first acquired the property, it lacked the original character typical of a Victorian house, instead featuring a stark and contemporary aesthetic. However, with her keen eye for design, Skye quickly infused the space with magic, transforming it into a cheerful, vibrant, and cozy abode while preserving its remarkable structural features.
Skye’s formative years in Venice, Italy, have profoundly influenced her design philosophy and creative vision. Upon entering, you’re greeted by a kitchen bathed in a dreamy custard hue-a space Skye meticulously revamped to serve as a flexible area perfect for hosting gatherings and soirées. The interiors are adorned with exquisite hand-painted wallpapers, charming chintzy fabrics, and an array of vintage furnishings, collectively epitomizing the timeless allure of classic English design. Enjoy!

You are lovely. Thank you for inviting us into your beautiful home.
I grew up in a house that had a yellow kitchen. In every house I've lived in since - if I had a choice - I've painted it yellow. It IS a happy color, which is important for the first room you go to in the morning to start the day.
I love her. She’s very charming and so is her home. I love the way she decorated it. It looks and feels so cozy. I have three of her books.
I’ve watched this like 12 times, that kitchen is a pure dream. Love how fun it is
Me too!! I watch it all the time and also Matilda Goad’s home tour on House and Garden!! Check it out.
Charming colorful, beautiful, and warm home. Thank you for opening it for a tour.
i love your warmth and energy and it comes through so strong in your home 🩷💛
The perfect house! I love it!! XO
I love all the color, so cozy and beautiful!
Loved this. Delightful home and host, as are her cookbooks
Lovely london townhouse
Exceptional and interesting. Such a joyous home ☺️
I love her house in Venice too. Her taste is not "cookie cutter", and neither are her houses.
Loved that tour thankyou 🙂
Love her house and her products. They really are lovely.
I'm in love with the kitchen🩷💛,oh my,i so am loving the colours and design, the huge glass cabinet is just a dream, my idea of heaven. I have so much china squirreled away, would love a cabinet like this. I used to have a yellow kitchen years ago now it is Pashmina pink. The bath and bookcases too are perfect. What a wonderful home❤.
The bathroom chandelier is so pretty💜
Thanks for this amazing home tour! The house is a dream and so cozy. Loved the secret box in the kitchen and all of thrifted decor/furniture. It’s so unique when you have a small story behind pieces.
P.s. Surprised by toxicity of comments here(
Charming! Thank you❤
Absolutely fantastic home! Love her style!
Love it ❤
Very interesting. Skye seems 190% full blown feminine MIND ! So for a minute I had a giggle when she said her husband
is not into florals as she is! I can relate to all she says. Her bedroom is superb the fabric wall paper looks exquisite magic.Bravo!
very nice.. i am Venetian born too and understand her sense of aestaetics
Delightful home and host
Skye was very open and honest, which made it very interesting
who is more charming the home or the lady
🥰
Shallow
That’s actually not possible.
actually i feel like she is the very opposite of shallow. Shallow would be to have a trend led house with no warmth
Had to stop watching this one. The woman loved talking about herself. I just wanted to see the house.
Just look for quick home tours with no host. What’s the problem?
Because this one came up as a recommendation! Not that it’s any of your business!
Dreadful vocal fry 🤯
I turned he audio off 😅
I am sorry BUT i cannot stand her way of speaking ..i can't watch this.
I'm sure she appreciates you leaving this comment so she can change her entire way of speaking henceforth.
she irritated me too because she seems so forced. but! when i analysed my crabby response more i realised i was just jealous. her house rocks and so does she. she is very rich but knows how to spend it.
Hoarder of clutter. Not impressed.
What’s wrong with a British accent when speaking English? Would you prefer that she spoke English with an Eastern European accent?
@@roscaines-prentice3888amazing …what I think of as an Oxford accent. And lo and behold, she is Oxford educated. 😊 can one have a favorite accent? I think I do.
Rich kid who married rich shows all the stuff she bought with the money she did not earn. I am a little bit over this...
Where in the video does it say that she doesn’t earn her own money? She has a business. Why do you assume her husband earns all the money? She mentioned her job. This honestly just comes across as sexist. She works and contributes. None of us know how much- perhaps her business takes in a lot! What’s the issue? Or are you just mad that she has a posh voice?
@@kingstonn11actually she’s a writer, had cookbooks, and a line of Italian dinnerware, glassware etc. Very successful businesswoman in her own right. I own some of her products and they are beautiful.
@@kimclarke5018 exactly! The original commenter must have jumped to the conclusion that she lives off other people’s money because she has a posh voice and they can’t fathom that a woman would be able to earn money for nice things. She’s clearly a successful person!
@@Mimi-ht6xr I totally I agree that it’s not our business and I also love her house! But I take exception to people making snap judgements like the original commenter did with absolutely no basis whatsoever. They heard her voice and assumed that because she’s a woman she must have a rich man bank rolling her. The homeowner mentioned her various businesses throughout the video, so anyone jumping to the conclusion that she must have a man paying for things must be sexist.
