      Pretty sure I was using mine in '85 or '86. I recovered 2 deer that I would have never found, but noticed the string moving while we were tracking. I'd have pushed those does for a long time before losing the blood trail.

    Jason, The ONLY reservation I have with this is that it's inconceivable that a animal like a deer can rip line off that little spool on a run and the string not get caught on something and break. Can you comment on that given that you have tested this.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have not shot anything with this on yet. I use it when I hunt wet areas or super thick stuff. Killed 4 deer so far, but none while using this. A bunch of people have used it this year to kill deer though and all but one ha e been very positive saying it helped in the recovery. A couple said the string did break but still made it much easier to find the deer.

    Pretty cool you recognize the impressive ability of these things, I purchased the leather cup one from three rivers 6 years ago I get close too a mile of string on mine, it's been taking me too every animal I slice now, don't have any worries now, like you said there will be times when the string hanging there gets in your way, but the positives out way the negatives when he runs into a impenetrable thicket or swamp water water you can come up with, the blessing is it takes you right there, and even if the arrow falls out let's say 100 yards away, you just gained 100 yards of string. Now that string your shooting right there seems much lighter than mine, and the positive behind that would be quieter, but the positive of my stronger string, it doesn't break that easy if he's weaving through trees and the leather cup thing looks so beautiful I just keep on the bow permanently because it matches my wood and looks great plus even if it don't weigh but a smidgen I want the same balance feel everything. Only one time I screwed up with mine is I made a plug for the line so the line won't get caught on anything and as your walking 100 yards spools out, but the other time forget to take plug out and line was caught around it shot at critter and arrow buried in ground, kind of chaped my ace, but I learned and promised my self that ain't happening again, but like I said the positive outweigh the negative and we oh it to the animal too make are recovery abilities go up such a high percentage, glad you recognize it Jason, great day bud

      @@SamkoTradBow for the benefit of us who sometimes miss completely you might want to show us how strong the string is by pulling it from a treestand with the arrow stuck in the dirt. If nothing else that might eliminate any kind of unwarranted high expectation of not climbing down for the walk of shame lol

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  ปีที่แล้ว

      @jetpilot555 it would probably break. It's like a thread for sewing. But ohh so light. Matter of fact I broke a piece off this morning and was breaking it into little pieces about 4 inches long to test the wind from my stand. So it's not super strong but it won't effect arrow flight and 50/50 if it will break along the way. But even if it does it gives you a huge head start.

    Never dreamed I would see anyone with one of these on there bow again. The string broke so easy doesn't seem like it would last long in the "thick stuff".

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  ปีที่แล้ว

      the thin string advantage is zero impact on arrow flight. according to the guy that makes then he has shoot deer and hogs with it and the thin string slides thru the brush very easy and even if it breaks it still takes you along way into the trailing process. I have not shot a critter with it yet but looking forward to using it.

    Hi, Jason just got to see how the tracker works I shot a doe today at 8y out of my stand arrow stayed in both lungs tracker string broke 30y deer went about 80y had blood or I would have never found the deer.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How muxh string was hanging out of deer? Kind of nice it didn't pull the arrow out. A tough string might of snagged and pulled the arrow back out. And if there was 30 yards of string hanging out of the deer that would help too. I know it's thin string and can break. But nice that it doesn't impact the flight.

I just rapped it around the tip and tighten the head.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  ปีที่แล้ว

      @george2099 sounds like the string snapped at the head. That sucks. I'm excited to use mine. Actually in stand with it now. And I know it's not as strong of a string as some others but I personally will trade the potential string break rather than bad flight or arrow being pulled out of the animal when string snags. And it got you to the exact spot you shot the deer!

    How much would 100 lb test affect accuracy at 10-20 yards? Near wetlands so I don’t want any missing broadheads.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not sure. Probably would effect flight. Thays the reason tradtrackr went with this light weight tread. Zero impact on flight, very compact simple design and helps with recovery. Even if it brakes it gets you on the blood trail. It's not guaranteed to not break but it's never gonna effect flight.

    How I’ll this work on pass through? Will the string break inside the deer?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shouldn't. Don't see how it would. But have not killed an animal with it yet. Most likely would just have 2 string trails. One from the arrow and one from the bow going thru the animal

  • @terryjohnson3100
    @terryjohnson3100 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    35 years ago, I used this technology on my slow compound (much bigger tho). That helped me to recover every deer that I shot for 6 years. The last year, I had forgotten to purchase a replacement cartridge and ran into the sports shop on the way to the woods. The instructions said "always" shoot a few test shots. Got up into the stand, put the cartridge in, and minutes later my first opportunity at a buck. Let the shot go, heard a different sound but saw the orange thread ball up right behind the front leg. The replacement cartridge had malfunctioned and I only got 2" of penetration. Found my arrow about 20 yards past the hit (still attached to the string). Fortunately it lived and a friend shot it a couple of weeks later.
    Does all bows include crossbows?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  ปีที่แล้ว

      No idea how it would work on a crossbow. But works great out of my longbow and my wife's compound.

    • @SamkoTradBow
