Ukraine's ground forces commander said on Friday that Kyiv needed more military aircraft for its war effort, such as U.S. A-10 attack jets to support infantry and planes that could fire long-range cruise missiles.

You can scratch the A-10 of the list, you don't want the aircraft falling into enemy hands, it has a classified fire and control radar on some models but no cannot export.
I've been saying from the beginning that A10s are better than nothing. But everybody disagrees with me. The government would rather scrap them rather than give them to ukraine. When you're fight for your life anything will help.

Different roles. The A10 is slow, it needs good air support.
They won't get any of these unfortunately.
The A-10 needs a large support of tech and on base supply service to make it effective. Also to avoid loses. The Ukraine personal is not trained and educated on it.

I don't think they will ever allow them to go because of the Tech. We do not want it falling into Russian Hands! Though I do agree and thing the A-10 would be an extremely Great Asset that would be very useful especially if it could operate with a F-16 Escort! If we won't give any of these Jets to our friends or Alley's, then Ukraine will not get it either. It is the Tech in the Build mostly that stops the transfer of these Jets, kinda like the F-22. With the F-22 though it is everything about the Jet we do not want falling into enemy hands. So the Build or engineering, and the Computer or Sensor Tech that is in the F-22 is why we will never sell it to anyone. And with the A-10 it is both the Engineering and Tech, but mostly the engineering of the A-10 is why it will never be seen in Ukraine, unless operated by the US. But I do understand why these pilots want the Jet, really I think it would crush the Russians, especially working alongside the F-16, Gripen, Mirages, and the Fleet of Russian Jets they are still operating. Even the retiring A-10s, cause the engineering of this Jet is a Marvel, so it is not like we can strip off the things we do not want to fall into the hands of anyone. But boy what a couple Dozen of these would do to the Russian Military would be Absolute Destruction! The recently upgraded A-10s carry so much firepower that can literally take out a small Army by itself! Really I think the Jet should be re-engineered to be even better, build a entire New Fleet with a little more power in them so they can get to and from places a little faster, and get out of harms way quickly if needed. I am not talking Mach 2! More like Mach 1, maybe Mach 1.2 at most! With better thrust. Then you are talking about literally the most destructive Jet in the World. Arguably it is already that now. But it could be much more! The F-35 will never replace the A-10, and the Air Force needs to really start figuring out their next Ground Support Aircraft! Because the F-35 is not going to work nearly as well as the A-10. For one it has a much smaller Payload, two is it cannot loiter for long, and three, I am not sure the Military wants this Jet anywhere close to the Altitude the A-10 flies at when providing Ground Support. Could you imagine a F-35 coming back if it made it after being hit with 100+ rounds of small arms fire! That would cost so much to repair I don't even think they would repair it.

No, they fly low and slow in an anti-armor and ground support role. They are extremely rugged with redundancy for almost every system and a titanium tub protecting the pilot.

No A-10's, no C130's. We sent ONE C130 (variety of nomenclature gun ships) to Kandahar, and 25,000
fled to a different city. You should have heard the translated descriptions of this ancient prop driven
"relic". Most inferred it to a fire breathing dragon nearly suspended in air.
The reason I bring up the 130 is that I see it as a collaborating force with the A-10.

For more than 18months Ukraine pilots in Hawaii being trained to fly A-10. Big problem is lack of pilots and ground crew. Ukraine is suffering major manpower to handle all needs. CNN showed both F-16 and A-10 training in Hawaii. This not first time this has happen. A-10 is not even close to F-22 and F-35 Tech. Manpower is the problem and it's not just pilots.
