I had double mastectomies with 21 lymph nodes removed with 19 with cancer. My plastic surgeon did reconstruction immediately following 6 hour mastectomies. I did not do chemo. I did 27 radiation treatments. I have taken anastrozole 1mg for 2 years. Fatigue is my chronic problem. CA number is 14. I have truly learned to stay in the day. I am 71. I was a Hospice RN for 18 years. I knew too much which did help me with my decisions of treatment. Jesus has been my comfort!
Hi Susie.. I'm 38 and was diagnosed with estrogen positive her 2 negative breast cancer .. 1 lymph node with micrometastasis. I am undergoing radiation right not after undergoing a lumpectomy. I will also need hormone therapy. It was advised I get chemotherapy due to a high oncotype score. However, I had a very bad feeling in my gut about chemo and declined. I've been seeing women with early stage breast canver undergo chemotherapy just for their cancers to return and kill them. I often see you post about being a hospice nurse and that you know things about chemo and also declined it. Is there anyway you can tell me more about it? I'm really scared since this diagnosis especially because I have a 2 year old daughter. Thank you so much
@@jenna5986 I had 19 bad lymph nodes. Double mastectomies. I did radiation 27 burns. I have made it 5 years. Chemo is the only medication that doctors get a cut of the profit and I used to watch themlie to their patients. They make huge money and it took me years to figure it out! My doctor knows that I know too much. I only took the hormonal therapy for 4.5 years because the side effects were just too brutal. I feel so much better now. I found my peace and my answer in my Jesus Christ. One day at a time. I had my reconstruction done the same time I had my mastectomies. Being older, I have enjoyed my chest. Smaller and so perky! I did the nipple tattoos as well. I used an incredible plastic surgeon here in Plano Texas. The best doctor I’ve ever had. I am an RN so I worked with many!!

Your talk helped start me out with a basic vocabulary that enabled me to ask pertinent questions of my doctors as well as understand my lab reports to a certain basic degree. Your talk enabled me to have a greater feeling of control by learning what to expect. I gave my radiology doctor that performed my breast biopsy the name of your presentation as well as the link. I'm hoping that MD Anderson might be receptive to giving their new patients a link to your presentation. My name is Diane and I am a 6 year breast cancer survivor. My story began November 2014 when I felt a slight burning sensation in my right breast. I was working as a daycare provider and neglected to do anything, hoping the burning sensation was temporary. On New Years Eve, 2011, the pain was so severe that I scheduled a mammogram the first week of 2015. A few days after I received a letter telling me to return for a second test. A few more days passed and I received a letter telling me that there were suspicious findings on my film that needed further testing. My previous mammogram had been in October 2011. My wife prevented getting a Mastectomy in 2012 at Fuda Cancer Hospital in China and successfully killed 5 spots on the Liver and a Mass in her Breast. Why does the West ignore the FACT that you can Freeze Pancreatic, Breast, Liver, etc.??? Do the Oncologists all feel that Patients want to lose their Breasts in painful surgery??? Shame on the West!
