You are a total legend. I lived up Vinegar Hill for 20 years in Undy and used to fish the tide. Your videos remind me so much of being on the estuary. Excellent stuff. I'm 58 and lost my Dad 40 years ago. It gets manageable but we will always miss our fathers. We should do. Fathers are our guides.
Thank you Graham, that's nice of you to say. I bet you have some great memories of when you fished the estuary. Yes you're right, we learn to cope but we'll always miss them, given how inspirational they were to us. Cheers for watching, much appreciated 👍
Never a day goes by without me thinking of my Dad too mate. He loved his fishing and he loved his greyhounds. I retired to Ireland and train and run a couple myself and had my first winner 6 weeks ago. I burst into tears thinking about how proud my old man would be of me. Your Dad would be very proud of you for bringing the joy of fishing to others. You know that too so no wonder emotions get the better of us at times, as they should. Take care
Yes I can appreciate that Jeff, never easy is it, I still have many a wobble when out fishing as Dad is not there. Well done on achieving your first winner, that must have been a great feeling and as you say, your Dad would have been very proud. I seem to be getting more emotional the older I get, or so it seems anyway, ha! Off down to Brixham soon for a little break, there will hopefully be a few fish about. Cheers for watching 👍👍
I lost my Dad a few years ago mate, he loved his fishing. I know exactly how you feel, it never goes away you just learn to live with it. Take care bud. Cracking days fishing by the way.
Sorry to hear that Rob, I bet you have some great memories of when you fished with your Dad. Yes you're right there, it certainly doesn't go away, I often think about Dad when I'm out fishing and for some reason I started thinking about him towards the end of this session, I have no idea why ha! Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍👍
It's hard losing parents we are lucky we had a dad who took us fishing and gave us memories some of my friends never had a dad like ours we guys are so lucky .. I remember creeping up behind my dad and shaking his rod he went mental thought he had the record breaking bass lol
I am always touched by the way you remember your father, people say that time heals wounds, but nothing can replace those moments spent with your father. But he's always there watching over that third rod!
@@pawelskierski3803 Thank you Pawel, that's nice of you to say. Yes you're right there, those memories are precious and will last a lifetime. Be great wouldn't it if we could see them one more time. Hope all is good with you, cheers for watching 👍👍
Thank you Ian, I appreciate it. Lovely mark isn't it, there's always something to see, one of my favourite places. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Bless you, Gareth! I like everything about your videos... the way you capture the surrounding nature, the waves gently rolling into shore, moments of tranquility and reflection, music, the lot!
Thank you Niu Niu, much appreciated. I always try my best to make a relaxing watch, that's my priority when filming and any fish I catch are a bonus. It's just nice being next to the water, taking it all in. Cheers for watching, take care 👍👍
Another fantastic video Gareth I said it before old school boat rod, I miss my dad just like you mental health is a big thing in a work place but not out of of it, time heals I promise 👍
Thank you Les. Ha yes, the cheapy old boat road strikes again, I think I'll just use that from now on and ditch the beachcasters! The memories usually come flooding back when I'm out fishing but yes, you're right, time certainly is a great healer and it does get a little easier. Hope all is well, take it easy 👍👍
@riversidewithme my dad always had a beach caster and the old faithful boat rod, we never had a boat lol but every time we went fishing he would pull out the boat rod chuck a Mackrell on and with out fail a conger or Bass
Hi Gareth, enjoyed the video as always. I know you put a lot of thought and effort into your videos and sometimes question why you do it, but know this you’re efforts are very much appreciated and provide a welcome distraction for me and others for half an hour. Thanks so much hope you’re keeping well and you take care mate 👍🎣🎣
Thank you Stephen, that's nice of you to say and I appreciate it. It's good to know that the videos are enjoyed by many, this is what makes me carry on. I often tell myself that I'm not going to make anymore but the stubbornness in me and the great support pushes me to do more. A bit wet here at the moment, thundery showers but at least the garden is getting a good watering. I'm hoping to get out fishing middle of next week. Cheers as always, take care 👍👍
Thank you Leighton, I'm pleased that you enjoyed the video. A favourite mark of mine is this, anything can turn up and it's just a nice place to be. I quite enjoy watching the ships go up the river, they come from all over the world. Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍👍
Just promise us one thing Gareth, you will never change. Dad made a great fisherman but above all a SUPER human being. Great content as usual lovely to see the places i used to chuck out on,weather looks grand over there, i,d rather that than the 38c here swsp you any day mate. Love your content, honesty and true human immotion keep it up mate we are all with you,God bless.
Ah thank you Michael, that's nice of you to say, I appreciate it. Yeah I live a very simple life and as long as I'm next to the water or on the mud, then I'm at my best...I'll hopefully be making the most of these simple pleasures for the rest of my days and so I can't see me changing ha! Yeah it was quite warm actually, the wind was really strong but warm at the same time and when it came to packing up time it was beautiful. Wow, 38 degrees, now that's warm...you may need a nice bottle of something today, to keep you cool of course!! Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍👍
Gareth mate, a true masterpiece of video excellence with music to match, your intro's are stunning, they move me and I look forward to watching the channel every week, knowing that they'll remind me of my old man, and knowing they'll make me cry happy tears. I miss him as you miss your dad too but your work is a great memorandum to him. I was working in Shanghai when my dad passed and was unable to get back in time to see him off, he was 80 then, I was 56 but I still felt like a young son to him. We went fishing whenever we caught up, coarse fishing though. Your channel always reminds me of him and our fishing trips, thank you. Well done with all the eels, the cheapy old boat rod is pure gold, I always have my money on it catching a fish, it never lets me down! We all know you do this for us, not as a job, but I think and hope you are wrong about that never being the case, your channel and video work is far better than many who have become rich on TH-cam, without a doubt. Have a great weekend mate, you are a real decent man and I'm sure you will succeed at this. By the way, is that the old Llanwern steelworks in the distance, I used to own a truck in the 80s and delivered coal there? Not during the strike though 😂
Thank you Steve, appreciated as always, very kind of you. Well considering it was meant to be a Gower video, I'm glad I ended up going to one of my favourite marks as it was a great day, very windy but enjoyable. The Congers kept me busy and yes, the cheapy old boat rod did the trick once again ha! Initially, I left out the clip of me getting emotional at the end but then I decided to use it as it's real life and relatable to a lot of people like yourself who've lost their fishing Dads. That must have been difficult for you as you were in Shanghai at the time of your Dad's passing, I can appreciate that. I also used to coarse fish with dad back in the day, we couldn't really afford maggots etc and so we used to dig our own earth worms and make bread paste using flour, good times. No doubt you also have an abundance of good memories and those memories will never fade. That's not Llanwern Steelworks in the background, it's the Usk Mouth Power Station and I believe coal was used a lot there and so you may well have made a delivery at some point! It was a top Cod spot behind there back in the day. Hope all is well, enjoy the rest of the weekend! Cheers 👍👍
@@riversidewithme Thanks for the reply mate, I had to laugh, we never had money to spend on maggots either, worms, stale bread, mouldy cheese paste etc. I remember the old man being stung getting some wasp grubs once, we caught some beautiful chub using them though. Great memories that your channel constantly remind me of. Keep it up mate, I know that you do it for nothing other than love, and I'm sure every person who follows you knows that. Money gives a certain freedom but honesty and integrity gives more, you have both of these traits in spades. Happy days to you bro 👍🏻
@@TessTickles00 Wasp grubs...yes I can see why they would work, very maggot like! Yeah that's it, what you see on camera is just me. I've had several sponsorship offers etc but I've politely declined...I'm just a normal bloke who goes fishing. Hopefully more to come soon 👍👍
Great video again mate least you had no trouble with the eels in this video the emotion you showed don’t worry about that your only human and people think different f-- em it’s hard going to marks with lots of fond memories look forward to the next one have a good weekend 👍
Thanks mate, appreciated as always. It was a little windy but enjoyable all the same, a nice little session. Ha yes, the Congers provided the entertainment for the day, there were quite a few out there! That's it, sometimes it's hard to keep the emotions in check isn't it but as you say, we're only human at the end of the day. The memories tend to come flooding back when I'm out fishing and that's what sets me off ha! Hope you're well, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Great video again Gareth. I lost my Pa in 2009 & still remember the sessions we had when I was younger & never ever apologise for your emotions. Considering how windy it was you managed a good little session there & a nice swell considering the wind was behind you.
Thank you David, I appreciate it. Ah yes, I bet you have some great memories of when you fished with your Pa, memories which will last a lifetime. Yeah not a bad little session in fairness, the Congers provided the entertainment and it's also just a nice place to be. Cheers for watching, take care 👍👍
I lost my dad 7 years ago next month there’s not a day when I don’t think about him but he would be proud off the man I am today keep up the great work mate your a top bloke your dad must have been so proud of you mate keep up the goooood work
Ah yes, I'm sure he would be proud of you bud, without a doubt. Thank you, nice of you to say, I guess I just be myself and hope that it comes across ok. Hopefully more to come with a bit of luck, that's the plan anyway. Cheers for watching, take care 👍👍
Thank you Scott, that's nice of you to say and I appreciate it. One of my favourite marks is this and it was an enjoyable session. Very windy at times but all good fun ha! Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍👍
Another lovely video Gareth, Bit breezy but hay it's Wales 🙂, Some nice conger caught so no blank , Myself and my neighbour went out on the boat on Thursday , second cast and he caught a cracking Pike approx 2 and a half feet long , just about to get it in the boat and it fell off caught nothing else all day but that made our day, Loved this Video Gareth shows that your dad was more than just your Dad , you wear your heart on your sleeve and it's okay to let your guard slip now and then, take care and look forward to your next adventure,
Thank you Phil, always appreciated. Haha you're not wrong there, it's usually windy here and last Saturday when I filmed this, well it was blowing a gale at times, all good fun though. A nice session in fairness, the Congers kept me busy and it's just a nice place to be. Ooooh sounds like it was a good Pike, always a shame isn't it when they come off just before you're about to land them! I'm sure you'll have some better luck next time, keep plugging away! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi Jed, hope all is good with you bud. Ah yes, I bet you have some great memories of your Dad. For some reason I started thinking about Dad towards the end of the session. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi Gareth what a great video looked a good fishing spot & great music to go with it one of your best in my opinion lost dad over 30 yrs ago but always thinking of him so understand what you are going through please keep your pecker up & keep making these great videos can not wait for the next one well done.
Ah thank you Michael, nice of you to say and appreciated as always. It's a lovely spot, something unique about the place, I've had some great fishing there over the years. Yes that's it, having lost your Dad too you will also understand, not easy at times is it. That's why I love to reminisce, great to keep those memories alive. Hope you're well, have a nice weekend 👍👍
Ah thank you John, that's nice of you to say, I appreciate it. I love this mark, there's something very appealing about it. Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Morning from Hereford Gareth.....another quality watch mate & it's good to see a guy who loves what he's doing, in places that mean so much to him.....never, ever feel the need to hide your emotions buddy.....memories will last for ever & little things will bring them all racing back. Anyways, back to the livestock....just bought myself a pup to keep me company around the land, so loads of hard work ahead!! Take care of yourself & thanks for the time & effort you always put in....Jon.
Love Hereford Jon, beautiful part of the world. Me and a mate of mine will soon be taking a day off work and spending a day there, will probably get the train. Yes dogs are great company aren't they and I'm sure your new pup will become a great little companion. I used to take my dogs fishing with me when they were alive, they loved it! That's right, the memories tend to come flooding back when I'm out fishing, this particular emotional outburst just came from nowhere ha! I hope the livestock behaved for you earlier on, it's been a damp morning to say the least. Cheers as always mate, take it easy 👍👍
Thank you Stephen. Ha yes, that just happened, I suddenly started thinking about Dad towards the end of the session for some reason. Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Dean, appreciated as always. It was an enjoyable little session at a favourite mark of mine. Yes you're right, that just came out at the end, couldn't really control it. Hope all is good with you, cheers for watching 👍👍
I think you underestimate yourself. You seem a very genuine relateable guy who goes fishing to stay in touch with nature and good memories. We are grateful for your videos, it's not the birds mate it's you👍 Please don't stress about videos though, too many tubers burn out because they lose the joy in it from stress about views etc.
Thank you Andrew, that's nice of you to say. I guess I'm just a normal bloke who goes fishing, it's what I love doing the most. Yes, TH-cam burnout is quite common, I've seen lots of channels come and go and I understand why, I've come close on a few occasions to knocking it on the head but my stubbornness has prevented me from doing so. I'll keep plugging away for now and will see where I end up. Cheers for watching, much appreciated 👍👍
Well Gareth another great watch. I have been watching you for 3 years and your going from strength to strength . I feel like I know you personally but we have never met. Keep um coming waiting for the next one mate 😃
Thank you Wayne, your long-term support is very much appreciated and it hasn't gone unnoticed. I'll keep plugging away for now and hopefully plenty more videos to come. This was a nice little session at a favourite mark of mine, I couldn't complain. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
You keep on getting out there Gareth mate, keep making these lovely videos, you seem to help so many people in producing a different take on why fishing is so good .appreciate your effort bud 🎣👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you mate, I appreciate it. Yes I keep plugging away, even though I often tell myself there's not going to be anymore videos ha! The marks I fish are sadly not as productive as they once were and so I put more of an emphasis on the watch, which a lot of viewers seem to enjoy. Cheers as always, have a good Sunday 👍👍
The reality of your emotions at the end was touching mate. Ive had plenty of them myself on the coast thinking of me dad 3 & half years on and know exactly how you were feeling. Like others have said you get to live with it eventually. Another cracking estuary sesh tho and great film work on the scenery as always. Take care.
Thank you Steve, much appreciated. A windy day but it was a pleasure to spend a few hours at a favourite mark of mine. Yes you're right there, time certainty is a great healer and it does get easier. Ah yes I can appreciate that you still think of your Dad when you're down on the coast, I guess it's because all of those great memories you have come flooding back. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi gareth you ok pal, some cracking bite action on the old rod tips. Well done on your catch and shame the ones that got away. All the best from GRIMSBY.
Hiya Carl, I'm good thanks mate, hope you're doing ok. Yeah a nice little session in fairness, the Congers kept me busy ha! A lovely mark in fairness, there's something mysterious about it. Cheers bud, have a good weekend 👍👍
well done gareth another fine day on the mouth such an easy fishing platform yep you never know what can turn up in the sea and thats what keeps us fishing great vid as always
Thanks bud, appreciated as always. A windy day but enjoyable all the same, I love the place. As you say anything can turn up, I've had some good fish over the years from this very spot. Hope all is good with you, cheers for watching! 👍👍
Thank you Matthew, always appreciated. Ha yes, that wind was challenging, I had the legs of my camera tripod stuck in the mud so that it wouldn't blow over! An enjoyable session though, the Congers provided a good bit of entertainment. Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Darren, I appreciate it. A lovely mark in fairness, it's just a nice place to be. Ah yes, hopefully he did...he was probably laughing at me when I lost that good fish ha! Have a good weekend 👍👍
A brilliant video Gareth and believe me , every moment of every day your dad is stood next to you and jumping for joy with every fish you bank mate . Tears are a tiny bit of the love leaking out 🙏
Thank you Kevin, appreciated as always. Yeah it was nice day in fairness, windy but enjoyable. No doubt he is, and probably laughing too when I miss a fish ha! Hope all is well, cheers for watching 👍👍
Ohhhh happy days off on hols tomorrow and my favourite youtuber uploads another brilliant vid. Can we just get a name for Roddy McBoat rod though I think he's earnt it.
Roddy McBoat rod...thanks for the suggestion Rob, it's a good one but I can't see that happening, I'm far too miserable and boring to start naming my fishing rods ha! Ooooh nice, I bet you're looking forward to your holiday, hope you have a great time! I'll hopefully be down Brixham for a week during the Autumn. Cheers as always, take it easy 👍👍
Thank you Nigel. Yeah it's a beautiful mark in fairness, something very different about it, feels like you're on a different planet or something ha! The Congers are following me around at the moment but I'm quite fond of them and don't mind catching them. Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
I regularly fish a mark near Whitby where my Dad and uncles used to take me fishing fifty years or more years ago. The sessions were always great fun, full of mischief, leg pulling and high jinx. These days I always feel the memories flood back whilst I'm fishing there and it brings me a big smile to my face especially when a Bass takes! You are not alone my friend.
Thank you for the comment Gordon, I enjoyed reading it. The sessions you had with your Dad and Uncles sound very much like the sessions I had with Dad and his friends, the banter was always on top form ha! No doubt you have memory good memories and they will last forever. Yes same here, it's when I'm out fishing that they tend to come flooding back and the emotions can then kick in. Cheers as always, take care 👍👍
Thank you Laurance, nice of you to say and I appreciate it. This is a favourite mark of mine, something unique about the place. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Neil. It certainly is a lovely mark and one that I've been fishing for many years, you never quite know what's going to turn up. A windy day but the Congers kept me busy ha! Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Massive thanks for another great video. I always think of my dad when fishing - I recently wrote this and it helps me: It's never about the people you've lost Or missing the loved ones who've passed When you think of them it should be with a smile Be upbeat and never downcast It may be the memory of something said Or of times you might have shared It shows when you remember these things How much you really cared For sure your loved ones would never wish To make you upset or sad You've shared special moments in earlier times And for that be happy and glad It's the memory of these things that keeps them alive And still a part of your life You can rely on these memories to come to your aid To lessen life's struggles and strife Thanks again Gareth you make a massive effort to bring us these videos
Lovely poem that Ian, very meaningful. I think poetry is often a great way of expressing our true thoughts and feelings and so thank you for sending it to me. Like yourself, I often think about Dad when I'm out fishing, all of those great memories come flooding back, hence why it's sometimes difficult to keep the emotions in check. This was a nice session, a picturesque part of the world and I always look forward to going back. Hope all is good with you, thank you for watching 👍👍
@riversidewithme I certainly will injoy weekend , fishing borth again , had a Brill session 2 weeks ago ther , 13 bass to 4lb ,hopefully a repeat afternoon tomorrow, tight lines m8 ,look forward to nxt vid 😀
Thank you Matt, I'm pleased to hear that you find the videos calming. I try my best to make a relaxing watch and I put more of an emphasis on that than I do the fishing. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Hi Gareth fantastic video mate so nice to see you catching and having bites, I hope the pain of your dad fades one day mate so you only remember the good times without the heartache. Seeing you choked up like that really hits hard and really shows how important he was to you and everyone around him but I’m thankful you can share it with us and have that connection to us all. Again thank you for the watch Gareth we really appreciate all the effort you put into the videos and hope you have a fantastic rest of your weekend mate take care
Thank you Finley, appreciated as always mate. I love this mark, a number of species can turn up and it's just a great place to be, very picturesque. I tend to think of Dad more when I'm out fishing as I fished these places with him many times and sometimes it's difficult to keep those emotions at bay, hence the emotional outburst at the end ha! The wind was a bit of a nuisance during this session but it was an enjoyable day, shame the tide had to go out as I would have stayed! Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend and tight lines! 👍👍
As always a pleasure to watch, and do not dispear.. he would be most proud of how you've coped to become.. your vids are always good to watch and being open about the truth is at the heart of your style and why your so populer, your resent vid to f freirs cliff inspired me to go.. and i went with freinds and had a banger of a session, with smoothhounds, cracking bass, baby tope, and two lost double congers comming off at the lift up.. i was blanking but an old mullet angler called me over and taught me to catch and play my 1st mullet on float just at the cliff wash of freirs at my feet cracking, in love with the fish now.. and just as well i landed it too as my 1st porpose was hunting so close in it shook one of my rods. Got it on camira.. always a pleasure when i follow you success on marks and enjoy dreams and sights.. among many sea anglers i watch your one that inspires me most ❤
Well it sounds like you had a great session down at Friars Point, a nice variety of species, well done! It is a good mark in fairness and anything can turn up. I went to fish it the other week but I changed my mind and fished Nell's Point instead. Mullet are great fish aren't they, lovely markings and they are super strong! There's quite a lot of them around Newport way at the moment. I'm glad the videos are inspiring you, that's good to hear. I try my best to make a relaxing and relatable watch and hope people enjoy them. I'll keep plugging away for now and hopefully more to come with a bit of luck. Cheers as always, take care 👍👍
Beautiful the passion you show mate.. love seeing you fish the local marks & keep that cheeky little boat rod at it.... almost always produces mate 👍🏻 love the content & effort you put in .
Thank you Ryan, I appreciate that and I'm pleased to hear that you're enjoying the videos, hopefully more to come. Ha yes, the cheapy old boat rod is quickly becoming my lucky charm, I seem to catch more on that! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
What an absalute pleasure 🙏 just got back from holidays to a new edit great work m8 👌I'm pretty much healed apart from a few niggles but fishing again finally 🙌gona have a go at nashpoint 3am low tide at 5 and see what I can wangle out and enjoy the sunrise 🌅 👌well done m8
Hope you had a good holiday Carl and it's great to hear that you're pretty much fully healed, can't fault it! I reckon you'll have some luck down at Nash Point, cracking mark isn't it and that sunrise will hopefully be a good one. Thank you, appreciated as always bud...the wind was a little challenging but it was just nice to be out at one of my favourite marks. Tight lines, take it easy! 👍👍
Well done mate, your on a great run of late. Great to see..I fished that mark last year after watching one of your videos and had a few nice flounder. So thanks…. I fished the foreshore Tuesday night not 1 bite in 5.5 hours… but great to be back out. It’s great that you have so many fond memories with your dad, not everyone gets that. He brought you up very well, and I’m sure he’s at the bank with you on every adventure… Enjoy your weekend mate…
Thank you Matt. A nice little session in fairness, I love this mark, anything can turn up. Well done on getting some good Flounders up there, it does produce some nice chunks. Back in the day it was a superb winter Cod spot but sadly no more, like a lot of places I guess. I wasn't going to include the ending in the video but I then decided to use it as I guess it's real life and relatable, it just came from nowhere! Yes definitely, I'm all to aware that a lot of people didn't have a close relationship with their parents and so I guess I am lucky in that respect. Like a lot of families back then, we struggled financially and lived in a council house but we made the most of the simple pleasures in life. Unlucky on the Foreshore blank but as you said, just being out there is what's it's all about. Cheers as always mate, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thanks bud, I'm pleased to hear that. I'll hopefully be out again in a few days time, work and weather permitting. Hope all is well, cheers as always 👍👍
Thank you Chad, appreciated as always mate. Yes you're right, never easy is it, the memories tend to come flooding back when I'm out fishing. I hope you've been managing to get out yourself. Cheers for watching, take care 👍👍
@@riversidewithme i been out abit mate not to much but as much as possbile . the good memories will flood back mate ty for the vid again take it easy look forward to the next mate
enjoying your job is one thing.. turning what you enjoy into your job takes the enjoyment out of it as now you HAVE to do it.. that's my take on things anyway.. Great production and content fella!
Yes definitely and that's why I would never want to be a full time TH-camr as I know it would ruin my fishing, it's too stressful making fishing videos ha! Thanks bud, it was an enjoyable day out at a favourite mark of mine, a picturesque part of the world. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Christopher, always appreciated. Yes it was an enjoyable day out, the wind was a little challenging but all good fun ha! It's a lovely mark in fairness, always something to see. Cheers for watching, take care 👍👍
Thank you James, I appreciate it. I love this mark, something very mysterious about it. Yes hopefully he is, although he was probably laughing at me when I lost that fish ha! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
great vids as always Gareth wish i had your motivation cant wait for next vid i lost my dad the same day my youngest son was born about twenty mins apart in same hospital it was a strange day keep your head up pal
Thank you bud, I appreciate it. A windy day but enjoyable all the same, was great to spend a few hours next to the water. Ah sorry to hear that, I bet your emotions were all over the place that day, couldn't have been easy. Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍👍
Loved the video Gareth and No it dosent get any easier when past memories come too mind. I lost my dad 7yrs ago and still miss him. A great session 4 congers great result. Take Care Gareth and Thankyou it's 6am Saturday morning and I'm just heading out for a morning session on a local beach here in Northern Ireland tight lines 🎣
Thank you Peter, appreciated as always. The wind was a little challenging but it was a pleasure to spend a few hours at one of my favourite marks. Yes you're right there, never easy is it, especially when those memories come flooding back. I'm sure your Dad is looking down on you and no doubt he'll be fishing with you this morning. Cheers as always and tight lines, hope you a catch a few! 👍👍
Thank you Kevin, appreciated as always. A nice day out in fairness, windy but enjoyable. I like this mark, anything can turn up. Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍👍
A decent tune that boy, a decent tune! Thank you, it was a nice day out, windy but enjoyable. My next video will be the pub crawl at Ludlow!! Bye for now 👍👍
Ahh, a sneaky one ehh! That's when I was surface fishing the Ebbw over to your left. I saw someone but didn't guess it was you. Well done on catching. I had a baby smoothie and a 51/2 blonde at the Knap today.
Disappointing Gareth that you didn't recognise my handsome good looks, I thought it would have been obvious that it was me ha!! Well done, sounds like you had a nice session down at the Knap. You've been putting in the hours of late and good that you've been rewarded with some fish! Cheers for watching, take care 👍👍
Another great, and well put together video 👌🏻 Oh, and never say sorry, and retake the shot, we are all human and it’s good to see emotions, especially from men 💪🏻 …looking forward to your next upload. Take care 👍🏼
Thank you Tony, much appreciated. The wind was a challenging at times but it was an enjoyable session. Yes definitely, important to show our emotions isn't it, that often happens to me when I'm out fishing, I usually start thinking about Dad ha! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Thank you Sam, much appreciated. Haha no problem, feel free to use it. That's my excuse for when I miss fish, which happens a lot! Cheers for watching, take care 👍👍
Thank you mate, I appreciate it. I'm pleased to hear that you are enjoying the channel, hopefully more videos to come soon. Greetings from Wales, all the best 👍👍
Thank you Jeremy, I appreciate it. A nice little session at a favourite mark of mine, couldn't really grumble. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
wow conger central on the Usk mate fantastic session :) the colour and swell of the water would have you think it was going to be hard going well done mate
Haha it certainly was mate, the Congers seem to like it there, there's lots of little crabs in the mud and they enjoy feeding on those. A very windy day but enjoyable all the same. Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
You do it coz we love you brother😘😂Cracking couple of straps buddy 👍 let me tell you now, your Dad is on all these vids with you man, we can see him on your shoulder laughing at you 🤣😘😘 cracking vid as always Gareth buddy, love to Cath and all the fam 😘 see you out there brother
Thank you Matt, it was an enjoyable little session. That wind was strong mind, I had the legs of my camera tripod stuck in the mud to stop it from blowing over ha! Yes no doubt he is and he was probably laughing at me when I lost that fish 🤣. You would have liked Dad, prankster he was, a character and everyone got on with him. He lived a simple life, he liked his rollies, a beer, liked a flutter on the horses and fishing of course. And the same to the Caster's family, love and cwtches all round...see you on the sand...or on the rocks...or on the mud 👍👍
Great video as always mate. Very emotional at the end. I dont think those moments go away, i still have them now n again and tbh i kinda like them when they happen it makes me feel like hes close to me. All the best Gareth and as always look forward to the next video. Take it easy mate 🎣🎣
Thank you Scott, appreciated as always. That wind was a challenge but all good fun ha! Yes that just came out at the end, just came from nowhere. I wasn't going to include it in the video but then changed my mind as it's real life and relatable to people like yourself who've lost their Dad's recently. Yes definitely, I know what you mean...keep having those moments mate, good for the soul! Hope you manage to fit a session in soon, have a good weekend 👍👍
@@riversidewithme cheers mate 👍🏻 im hitting porthkerry in barry tomorrow and hopefully get into the hounds. Think HW is 11:51pm so going to be a late one
Great video mate, day of the congers there for sure. Nice to see some fish, it's been pretty slow on the island. Getting the odd fish, certainly no busy sessions. Shame you missed that other one. Definitely looked like a lump. You're a gem of a bloke, stay safe and never change bud👍👍🎣🎣🙏🙏
Thank you Dylan, appreciated as always. Ha yes, the Congers provided the entertainment again, they seem to be following me around at the moment but I don't mind catching them. This very spot used to be a top winter Cod mark back in the day, I can remember those sessions like they were yesterday. Sadly no more but we live in hope, they may come back one day. It was an enjoyable day in fairness, just a nice place to be, was good watching the ships going up the river. Cheers as always bud, take it easy 👍👍
Great session with those 4 Congers and as always, wonderful scenery captured. Never apologise for your emotions. They are what they are and always real. It's always very clear you and your dad had a fantastic connection. Take care Gareth.
Thanks David, this is one of my favourite marks, a little tricky under foot but I've had some good fish down there over the years. Anything can turn and I think that's because the fish feed on the goodies that wash down the river. Yeah strange that was, I suddenly started thinking about Dad, right at the end of the session. Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Another great video Gareth. It’s lovely you’ve got so many great memories of your dad, and don’t ever apologise for thinking about him as I’m sure he’s really proud of the man you’ve become since he’s gone. Plenty of strap congers to keep the rod tips bouncing. Keep the videos coming fella and as always thanks for sharing.
Thank you Richie, appreciated as always. Ah thank you, I do think about Dad a lot when I'm out fishing, all of those memories tend to come flooding back. The wind was a little challenging but the Congers kept me busy ha! They seem to be following me around at the moment but I'm quite happy catching them. An enjoyable session in fairness, couldn't really complain. Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍👍
Thank you for the donation Jon, very much appreciated as always. Yes the Usk is a great River and I have fished the inland stretches many times for Trout and Coarse species. There's also a tributary of the Usk called the Olway Brook and that's a lovely bit of water, small but lovely. Cheers as always, take care 👍👍
You done it again a truly fantastic video. Your Dad would be proud of you like we all for your hardwork you put in for us..looks a great place to fish. And with such beautiful views. Hope you had a lovely evening. Take care my friend regards to the family
Thank you Bob, appreciated as always and I'm pleased that you're enjoying the videos. This particular spot is beautiful, always something to see and the wildlife is usually on good form too. A windy day but very enjoyable, the Congers kept me busy ha! Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍👍
Hi Gareth, that was good to see the feelings you have for your dad. Never forget. I think of my parents everyday. (Good man). Great video, look after yourself all the best from South West Wales 👍
Thanks bud. Yes I tend to think about Dad a lot when I'm out fishing, I guess it's because I used to fish all of these marks with him. It's nice that you think of your parents everyday, keeping those memories alive, top man. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Another enjoyable watch Gareth..I really look forward to your fishing sessions..On the grief of losing your Dad..The pain does ease..Im sure he's smiling down on you and proud that you are still fishing the marks that he introduced you to..I was always excited when my Dad took me and my brother to a new venue..
Thank you Pat, I appreciate it and I'm pleased to hear that you're enjoying the videos. Yes I'm sure he is looking down, as you say things do get easier, time really is a great healer. I tend to get emotional when fishing as that's when all the memories come flooding back. I bet you have some great memories of when your Dad took you fishing and they will last a lifetime. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Aw Gareth you made me cry😢 you must have been very fond of your Dad! I suppose the fishing helps, but the memories never go away. Thinking of you, take care love. By the way a cracking video once again x
Ah thank you Patricia, pleased you enjoyed it. Yes you're right and the memories tend to come flooding back when I'm out fishing and the bit of emotion at the end just came out, just came from nowhere. A nice day out though, a bit windy but very enjoyable, lovely spot. Hope all is well, take care 👍👍
Always great B roll Gareth. Well done. Dad would be proud of you taking us to such lovely coasts
Been looking forward to this! Cheers Gareth!👍👍👍
You're welcome Johnny. Hope all is good with you bud and thanks for watching. Enjoy the weekend 👍👍

@@lesglover7016Always the way isn't it ha! I'm coming to the conclusion that a lot of the best fish are really close in, especially down on the mud!
Cracking Saturday morning watch Gareth also you made a muddy old mark look stunning some great editing 👌 💯👍
Cheers 👍👍
@@riversidewithme
Thanks for the reply mate, I had to laugh, we never had money to spend on maggots either, worms, stale bread, mouldy cheese paste etc.

Massive thanks for another great video. I always think of my dad when fishing - I recently wrote this and it helps me:
It's never about the people you've lost
Or missing the loved ones who've passed
When you think of them it should be with a smile
Be upbeat and never downcast
It may be the memory of something said
Or of times you might have shared
It shows when you remember these things
How much you really cared
For sure your loved ones would never wish
To make you upset or sad
You've shared special moments in earlier times
And for that be happy and glad
It's the memory of these things that keeps them alive
And still a part of your life
You can rely on these memories to come to your aid
To lessen life's struggles and strife
Thanks again Gareth you make a massive effort to bring us these videos
Lovely poem that Ian, very meaningful. I think poetry is often a great way of expressing our true thoughts and feelings and so thank you for sending it to me. Like yourself, I often think about Dad when I'm out fishing, all of those great memories come flooding back, hence why it's sometimes difficult to keep the emotions in check. Thank you Matt, I'm pleased to hear that you find the videos calming. I try my best to make a relaxing watch and I put more of an emphasis on that than I do the fishing. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍👍

Hi, another great video, keep them coming.
Thank you Graham, appreciated as always. Hopefully more to come soon. Cheers 👍👍

Well done Gareth 👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Thank you Nathan. A windy but enjoyable day out ha! Hope all is well, cheers as always 👍👍
He brought you up very well, and I’m sure he’s at the bank with you on every adventure…
Enjoy your weekend mate…
Great session Gareth keep up the great work videos are awesome mate
Thank you John, that's nice of you to say. The wind was a little tricky but it was an enjoyable day out. Cheers for watching, take care 👍👍
Loving the vids as always. You make 'em, I'll keep watching them!

Decent session on the conga 👍looking forward to the next show bro

Well done Gareth, Another good session you had today. If you’re Dad is watching you,I’m sure he is very proud of you.👏

@@riversidewithme strangely, I thought.....who but YOU would walk all that way.....I should have sussed it out.
@@garethhawkins4710 Exactly, only a mad fool like me would walk that distance with the fishing tackle! I was a tad thirsty when I got home!
Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍👍

wow conger central on the Usk mate fantastic session :) the colour and swell of the water would have you think it was going to be hard going well done mate

@@riversidewithme You have a good weekend too mate.

It’s lovely you’ve got so many great memories of your dad, and don’t ever apologise for thinking about him as I’m sure he’s really proud of the man you’ve become since he’s gone.
Plenty of strap congers to keep the rod tips bouncing.

An enjoyable session in fairness, couldn't really complain. Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍👍
Great video, lovely spot, had no idea the l river Usk was 120km long. Bet there some good fishing spots inland trout etc :)
