I read some Nancy Drew's as a little girl. Hardcover in yellow, with a picture on front, no slip cover. Always received for Christmas or birthdays.

I remember the Reader's Digest Condensed books. I received a few as gifts back in the day. My sister, has Little Women, from when she was younger. She turned 67 yesterday. I just bought a copy a couple years ago and read it for the first time. I think my sister had a big thick hardcover of Treasury of Christmas Stories.

Love love old books!! I have no clue how many I have but probably about the same number. Great video and the books we keep definitely tell a lot about the person! Good habit to look at someone’s books- and ask if they actually read them- often people collect for beauty/ decor alone and not to read- whole new level if they read them! Ha!

Absolutely, it's definitely good practice to ask if they've read some of the books on their shelves before judging what they own.

Hi Michele. Very much enjoying this video. I remember the magazine Family Circle. Lol. Your second book was published the year I was born. 🌞😊. I have many pocket books, as they were once called, with various coloured edges. And the prices, I wish books still only cost that much too. Imagine the amount of books you could buy!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Nice collection, makes me want go to my mom's house and go through her old books and see what gems I might find.
That's psychology book is interesting, would love to go through it. I like looking through older textbooks and comparing them to newer ones to see what's changed, what's there that was taught as 'fact' but no longer considered so.

I hope you can happen upon a copy. I am the same way, I think it's fun to see what has and hasn't changed in textbooks.

I loved this Michele! The cookbooks really interested me because my Mother had so many cookbooks from the 60s and 70s and I wish I would have kept some. There is one recipe she used for a strawberry cake that was so delicious and I’m trying to find it. I will look on eBay and get some desert cookbooks from that era. Thanks for the tip🤗

I ordered a 1966 Better Homes and Gardens cakes and pies cookbook. She used a lot of those books. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Readers Digest condensed books were very popular with my parents generation. Anytime we’d go to someone’s house there would always be Readers Digest in bathrooms. Wow! Some of those books I had forgotten all about. Great video. Very interesting and informative.

    These are so cool!!
I did the same thing with my books... numbered/cataloged. If my siblings or friends wanted to read them, they had to check them out of my library (bedroom). 🤣🤣 I’ll do the same thing now, though. I’ll be writing down dates and names of any borrowed books, because I’ve lost so many to friends over the years. 🤣😈
My dad has quite the vintage/antique book collection as well. You’re both making me turn green with envy over here! 🤣😘😘

This made me want to buy a vintage cookbook and try out some of the old recipes. That sounds like a fun time. Oh! I have that exact Psychology book by Breese, but it had a black cover--but it is still that vintage hardback, and everything else looks the same. Haha.

I'm happy I could inspire you to collect! What?!?!? That's crazy that you have that book too. I wonder how many are out there.
