If there are invites, there should be a list of ~50 athletes that are invited (30), 31-32 being reserve and 33-50 as reserve for the reserve. The list should be closed at least 3 months before the WSM and be published for those 50. If anyone drops because of the injury or turns down the invitation, this person should be removed from the list and everyone should go up with the placing. It would mean no late call ups, everyone would have a clear vision if they have chance of being one of the final invites or no. Visas can be sorted out way before it's too late. Some governing body like ATP does for tennis should take over strongman. This sports have so much potential to be one of top sports in the world. Some kind of positive changes should happen to take it to the next level.
Thor won’t ever be keeping in Giants Live again after GL executive Colin Brice was exposed to have been rigging events for his sponsored athletes. We Bryce saw fit that events were rigged for Eddie Hall and Luke Stoltman that accentuated their strengths. Thor remonstrated this fact for years and was excoriated by Eddie Hall and GL until a conversation with a former WUS exec and Luke Stoltman surfaced that proves Thor was right all along about Colin Bryce’s corruption.
This might be a contentious opinion but I would like to see more top athletes prioritise the Arnold classic over WSM until they start treating athletes correctly, bring back the foreign stage and lastly live stream the event. It’s not only good for fans of the sport but also good for the athletes as they can personally monetise themselves through the exposure
@bdegrds Nope, your wrong. A lot of other strongmen are denouncing it. Here in a few more years, if things don't change, you'll barely see any marquee names.

@@thomasrosendahl2783 i agree Mitch is on another level he reminds me of a prime Big Z in that he's winning every contest he enters but Tom is the only competition he really has
Only the best will compete. People who retire is obvious, injuries is another....and fear of losing will keep competitors away. People with achilles, shoulder, lat, pec and sciatic injuries will hand pick events they think they are more likely to podium at, while the best and injury free will attend them all.
Bryce fucked up by throwing Thor under the bus. Luckily, we have other competitions where we can watch him and all of the best battle it out. I'll watch WSM when it comes out but it seems like the organisers are doing their best to hold a subpar competition this year.
With competitions getting heavier (not WSM so much), the "smaller" (lol) strongmen may perform as well as some bigger guys, but they seem like they are much more injury prone.
Another absent competitor is Jean-Stephen Coraboeuf. I can only assume his decision to represent France after qualifying through the Australian strongman circuit means he now has to qualify through Europe now. I always thought it was a strange decision by him considering he actually came from New Caledonia, a French overseas territory, not France itself and he's an Australian resident. If anything he should've represented New Caledonia. However, it was a decision he was perfectly entitled to make.
Maxime only getting a late invite is nuts, should have been invited from the start of issuing invites! Should have mentioned no Hicks, Nakonechny, Janashia & Biby in the list. 👍🏽
With all of these injuries and withdrawals, a lifetime dream could come true... Tom stoltman will be 1st or 2nd, however, Big brother Luke now has a much better chance (being the current Europe's strongest man) of joining his brother on the podium. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏆🏆🏆🏆

I hope this is a competition! Hate to see a total domination by 🫎. Love 🫎 but want to see a fight for podium 🥇
Iron bibby?
I think WSM has just failed this year.
Late invites, terrible marketing.
Sure, there will always be late invites. But it seems like these late invites were to people who weren't expecting it.
WSM needs to get their competitor list together and sent out sooner as well as reserves list for that late call-up moments. At least with a reserve list, those reserves know they may or may not and can prepare.
Really can't get excited about WSM because of the streaming. Being spoiled by Rouge with the free lives.
That's not being spoiled that's living in 2024
What brand of rouge do you use that leaves you feeling spoiled?
@@eladrio2311 - You got that right. When I think of WSM, I feel like it´s about 15 years ago automatically.
@@jasonito23 Same, I haven't even watched it since 2021. I don't have cable, so I can't really watch it. I just watch the spreadsheet unfortunately. They really need to get with the times.
I could understand if the don't want to give us a FREE live stream, but at least give us a PAID one
Some governing body like ATP does for tennis should take over strongman. This sports have so much potential to be one of top sports in the world.
Some kind of positive changes should happen to take it to the next level.
Did I miss what's happening with Hicks??
He didn't qualify, like hundreds of others.
He doesnt want to do comps this year beyond deadlifts
Nice bideo
Do you get tested for steroids in WSM?
Anyone know what's happened to Wide Pavlo?
Was in a car accident not fully recovered
Thank you for great updates
Thor won’t ever be keeping in Giants Live again after GL executive Colin Brice was exposed to have been rigging events for his sponsored athletes. We Bryce saw fit that events were rigged for Eddie Hall and Luke Stoltman that accentuated their strengths. Thor remonstrated this fact for years and was excoriated by Eddie Hall and GL until a conversation with a former WUS exec and Luke Stoltman surfaced that proves Thor was right all along about Colin Bryce’s corruption.
That`s true: Britisch GL Mafia ;-)
Trst
There has been no good evidence of rigging that i have seen. In wsm 2017 especially
@@bdegrds Wrong.
Hard to respect Colin, I don't blame Thor
This might be a contentious opinion but I would like to see more top athletes prioritise the Arnold classic over WSM until they start treating athletes correctly, bring back the foreign stage and lastly live stream the event. It’s not only good for fans of the sport but also good for the athletes as they can personally monetise themselves through the exposure
Wake me up when we get a live broadcast.
Loz is the man!!!!
World's strongest man really doesn't mean what it used to mean. It doesn't feel exciting or meaningful anymore.
They got a great setup of events for once this year.
@bdegrds Nope, your wrong. A lot of other strongmen are denouncing it. Here in a few more years, if things don't change, you'll barely see any marquee names.
@@bdegrds You're a redditor, aren't you?
Strongest man on earth to save the day!
whatever happened to the young hot headed Russian guy who was especially good at deadlift I think and had an altercation with Oleksii Novikov ?
Wide Pavlo (Ukrainian). He was in a serious car accident last year and hasn’t competed since. He’s looking big and strong again so hopefully he’ll be back to competitions soon!
@@BigLozOfficial ah Ukrainian thanks!
@BigLozOfficial here's hoping we see him soon, miss that guy. Built like a mutant savage!
All russians will be ukrainian soon by the looks of things.
Gutted about the possibility of never seeing Martins win again :(
Good for Thor I hate how swm treat some people vs others
They need to invite 6 months ahead and tell others they are a backup so everyone knows if they are going
You missed me. I'm not competing because im at least a hundred lbs under the weight I'd need to be, getting kinda old, and not particularly strong.
It's a 2 horse race between Mitch and Tom
Mitch won the Arnold Classic by 10.5 points this year. Tom needs a miracle to win wsm 2024, going by their training.
@@thomasrosendahl2783 i agree Mitch is on another level he reminds me of a prime Big Z in that he's winning every contest he enters but Tom is the only competition he really has
Brian’s competition is going to surpass WSM, if it hasn’t already.
Only the best will compete. People who retire is obvious, injuries is another....and fear of losing will keep competitors away. People with achilles, shoulder, lat, pec and sciatic injuries will hand pick events they think they are more likely to podium at, while the best and injury free will attend them all.
For those who want to know who Thor wont work with It's Colin Bryce.
Bryce fucked up by throwing Thor under the bus. Luckily, we have other competitions where we can watch him and all of the best battle it out.
I'll watch WSM when it comes out but it seems like the organisers are doing their best to hold a subpar competition this year.
Mark Felix is a legend even though he never won. Doing that sport at his age is amazing.
If mateusz has injured his achilles why he has done a truck pull wr in the guiness records?
That was last year he set the truck pull record... he withdrew from Europe's strongest man and that was 3 weeks ago
That was done in Italy a few months ago but the video has only just been uploaded
@@Adamrawlifting123 December last year
With competitions getting heavier (not WSM so much), the "smaller" (lol) strongmen may perform as well as some bigger guys, but they seem like they are much more injury prone.
Mitch will win wsm, the other athletes are just there to show up. And yes that includes Tom, who still have not been close to win the Arnold Classic
Cool to see some kiwis on the strongman scene doing well, Matt ragg and Rongo Keene. A pity no invite for Rongo.
Shane Flowers...?
What's going on with Luke Richardson, will he ever be back?
Big Tom 💪🏻 for the win but will be very close with Mitch 💪🏻
Maxime only getting a late invite is nuts, should have been invited from the start of issuing invites!
Should have mentioned no Hicks, Nakonechny, Janashia & Biby in the list. 👍🏽
& Luke Richardson.
Who is it Thor has an issue with?
@@joik3308 cheers
Sad for rongo. Hopefully see him back at a GL this year
With all of these injuries and withdrawals, a lifetime dream could come true...
Tom stoltman will be 1st or 2nd, however, Big brother Luke now has a much better chance (being the current Europe's strongest man) of joining his brother on the podium.

loz your lean and have a ton of experience...seems like a wsm contest would suit you well
I grew up watching wsm but it seems like it's gone from the most elite show to a 2nd hand show over the years it's grown old and stale some of the politics involved have not helped and the viewing delay doesn't help either personally I'd rather watch the shaw classic or hell any of the other main events like rogue or Arnold just more fun to watch
What about Eddie Hall? He's still young enough to compete, he is 36 years old.
Mark Felix = Hercules Hold...
Mateusz = stone lift... what a machine
It’s unfortunate but Strongman is in the rebuilding phase. I am sure there are many guys ready and willing but some of the staple names not competing just doesn’t feel right. Sad but Worlds just doesn’t seem like it will be exciting.
That's all well and good, but when do we get the most important news ...
When are you setting up the 'watch parties' 😂
It’s funny seeing liz trying to interject her points 😅. She will run strongman one day I’ve no doubt.
💪💪💪
Wow it totally slipped my mind that Maxime got third at wsm
