    My sister-in-law's father passed away this year. For Christmas I made her a beautiful pendant with a picture of her father with heart stickers using the casting and layering technique. When she opened her gift she broke down crying and of course I started crying and other family members too. Thank you so much for helping me make her a gift that was so heartfelt and special. I also made other family members pendants and keychains and all gifts were greatly appreciated. Mind you, I just received this product a week ago and my first creations ever came out so beautiful. Thank you for selling such a wonderful product I will be a lifetime customer! Happy Holidays!

    Thank you for your very helpful how-to video. I need your recommendation on laser printers. Our printer is old and we have just started making resin photo jewelry. I've heard you can actually save money, in the long run, on toner versus ink cartridges as well. Which printer do you use or recommend for your charm making?

    • @LittleWindowsResin
      @LittleWindowsResin  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Little Hawk Items For Sale In my opinion, the best option for printing photos is a top-feed (never a U-feed) Canon inkjet. The photo print quality is still better than you'll get with any affordable color laser printer, and they require less maintenance. Inkjet also gives you more flexibility with media. You can print all of our Special Photo Papers and art papers, while laser printers tend to have a harder time with thicker photo papers, and can't handle specialty papers like our Clear Photo Film because they use heat to set the toner, which warps media like this. Also, although they're a bit more expensive, stick with the branded ink cartridges for best quality. I hope that helps :)

      Lisa Jarvis Hi Lisa, sorry for the delayed reply. If you can get to a computer our FREE photo cropper at little-windows.com can resize your pics for you, if you don't have a printer, we offer ProPrinting too, just add that to your order, email me the cropped file, and we can ship it along with whatever other goodies you'd like. Once you fill your shopping cart and enter your shipping address, quotes via USPS will be shown for your approval prior to payment. Let me know if you have any other questions fran@little-windows.com Have fun creating!

    I am using other sized pendants. Can I still use the photo cropper?

    • @LittleWindowsResin
      @LittleWindowsResin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Elle! You sure can, but our Photo Cropper sizes your images to fit our molds and bezels, so you may need to trim them down or enlarge them to fit if your pendants are not the exact size. Have a look at this tutorial so you can see exactly how our Cropper works and the options you'll have. www.little-windows.com/blogs/project-center/brilliant-resin-starter-kit-tutorial
      Follow this link to see the sizes our Cropper creates - again, these can be further enlarged or reduced by adjusting your print scale.

    • @LittleWindowsResin
      @LittleWindowsResin  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, our resin will set a bit faster with heat, but you need to be very careful not to overheat. It's best to allow it to cure for the normal 12 hours if you have the time :)

    I'm using a 65lb paper and my paper doesn't lay quite flat when I add resin. How do I fix this?

    • @LittleWindowsResin
      @LittleWindowsResin  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! If your paper won't stay flat when you dome, you can either mount it onto a stiffer sheet, like cardstock or a decorative paper, or stick 2 pieces back to back.
      For this I suggest a double-sided adhesive that is thin and waterproof, like the one we offer: www.little-windows.com/collections/adhesives/products/double-sided-adhesive-sheet-1
      Here's a link to a video how-to for double sided pieces which may help too:

    Hello, I want to ask if we can use normal A4 printed paper instead of the special paper you use for the photos?

    • @LittleWindowsResin
      @LittleWindowsResin  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Angee! You can use any paper you'd like, the advantage of printing on the Little Windows Special Photo Papers is that they're waterproof, they make a permanent bond with your inkjet or laser printer inks, and they're really low bubbling. To test how your paper will work, put a scrap in water for 15-20 minutes. Whatever it looks like in the water, it should look about the same in resin. If you want you can seal it with a couple of layers of Mod Podge Glossy for protection. Hope that helps :)

    What do you do if the resin flows over the edge of the photo and leaves a drip under the photo?

    • @LittleWindowsResin
      @LittleWindowsResin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! If you see the drip before your resin fully sets (9-12 hours), you may be able to peel it off without damaging your domed piece. If it has already hardened there are several things you can try to either remove the drip or camouflage it, depending on the size and shape of the drip, and whether or not you plan to finish off the back of your domed piece. If it's a small drip and you plan to stick that piece to another surface, or mount it into a bezel, then you'll just want to flatten the drip using an exacto knife or similar blade (or you can sand it down). If you plan to dome the back side you can try peeling the drip off, or trim it as low as you can first. The new layer of resin should disguise the drip, especially if you add a colorant to the resin. If I can be of help in any other way just email fran@little-windows.com :)

    Hello, will your photo paper work with a laser printer?

    • @LittleWindowsResin
      @LittleWindowsResin  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Blanca Longoria Hello Bianca! We have 3 kinds of Special Photo Paper at little-windows.com, the single-sided thinner white paper works well in laser printers. Here's the link: www.little-windows.com/collections/special-papers/products/hp-compatible-special-photo-paper
      The double-sided paper is too thick for most of the laser printers we've tried, and our Clear Photo Film won't work because laser printers apply heat to set the toner, and that warps the film. Let me know if we can be of help in any other way, and have fun creating :)

    Can resin use for floors be use to make charms?

    • @LittleWindowsResin
      @LittleWindowsResin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most industrial-type resins won't work well for this type of application for one or more of these reasons: 1) It's a toxic formula you won't want to have touching your skin, much less breathing, 2) you have to mix a large batch to get it to set properly, 3) many floor resins are not color stable, meaning they yellow fairly quickly, you may not notice this on a floor with a thin coating, but it'll be pretty obvious over a photo if it loses color and clarity, 4) Floor coatings are made to flow easily so they have a very low surface tension. This technique relies upon a high surface tension to create the rounded dome that stops at the edge of the shape you're cutting out. Here's a link to another video that helps explain and has a bunch more fun project ideas: www.little-windows.com/blogs/project-center/movie-fan-photo-jewelry I hope that helps! - Fran
