I still fly a balsa fuse. foam wing Curare converted to electric 6s. Tail drager with carbon fibre landing gear. Just the most beautiful plane to fly. I wish I could add a photo.
Flying F3A Myself Over 22yrs ago Back with the Desafio was the In Model and Many others , i used to use a comet as a practice model and precision is paramount and this CUANTIC seems to tick all the boxes although odd looking performs quite well and i enjoyed thoroughly this video thanks Dom. :-)
Here as well. I remember when I was learning to fly, the usual "career" was: 1. 2-axis high wing trainer or glider, learning how to RC 2. A simple 3-axis high wing trainer, learning how to land properly 3. Low wing trainer, improving the landings and learning basic acrobatics 4. RC1 plane (or F3A now) doing acrobatics (mild to hard core 3D 🙃) 5. Scale planes and gliders now and then, depending on age. Currently, it feels like most people skip step 4, or even stop at 3. I still love flying pattern F3A, it's like Zen meditation 😊
@@M0rdH0rst i think a lot has to do with the pricing of the pattern/f3a planes. U can rarely find f3a planes nowadays that competes with the price of a scale ARF. But hey i guess it just depends on the generation
@@gingermattb exactly, F3A is not really the cheapest when it comes to Model aircraft, Unfortunately, there are no small models like a 60 inch or 56-inch wingspan that you can use as an introduction to F3A So at least you start somewhere but cheaper.
@ sir, I did not mean that in a insulting way, but a loving one. She is a bit like that aunt with the smelly cigarette breath that always insists on kissing and groping you. You put up with it because you love her. That’s what she looks like to me. My apologies
They are really going nuts with the fuselages now 😀 I have Sebarts Prometheus and I thought that fuselage is already crazy. This probably doesn't need any rudder in knife-edge.
It will certainly be easier to perform knife-edge loops. But jeez, that's the ugliest pattern ship I've ever seen. And that vertical fin looks like its rudder is missing.

Definitely a little weird looking with the bigger fuselage, but you can see it better in the air compared to something like an early pattern plane. Like the Kaos.
That's a bizarre looking thing, like the 2m version of an indoor foaime with as much side area as wing area. Looks like it would be more at home underwater.
Enjoy pression.pattern flying.. Slow three point rolls in straight line .. & Watching pression rolling circles..my Dad did when he was alive flew majectly...although plane was not pattern being a phaton 90 by plane .. Rather watch smouth flying & not of blure of maneuvers ..
It looks like a fun plane but the flight would have not scored well. The wing area looks too small for precise flying. It remind me of my Morris Gee Whiz Bee which was a hoot to fly.
Flys well, but…. 🤮 I can see why they’ve designed it this way, but when the rules result in a model that looks like this, it’s time to change the rules IMO.
Sorry.. forgive me but not my cup of tea. The romance of F3A has gone. This is not a like a plprod excellence with a Yamada up front. Those were the days.
Idk, i love F3A, but the planes are getting so ugly! All for what better aero and knife edges ? I'd rather fly my lasers or pilot rc's 3d gas planes now 🫤
I'm still very much in love with the planes from the 80's and 90's. I love their design and just the way they look. This plane is butt ugly, and I can't even imagine myself buying and flying one of these....I just don't understand what happened to the pattern planes from back in the day. It seems like they've lost their looks....

I am proud to have designed the plane for myself. I found this video by chance, greetings from Argentina!🤗
Thanks Mariano! Fantastic RC aeroplane ✈
Mariano, nobody can say that your designs are a copy of someone else's - yours are unique and incredible.
Your design does well in the USA at competitions
I miss the times when we flew beautiful planes like the Phoenix 7, Tiporare, Blue Angel, Aurora, etc..

Indeed. Others of note being Hanno Prettner's Atlas and Curare - both beautiful.
Appears to stay at constant speed weather climbing, diving or in level flight.. Fantastic Model.

Regardless of what one might think of the airplane itself, it is always enjoyable to watch a skilled pilot at work.
👏👏👏
@@IMIXUKF he's in command of the controls so yes technically he's The Pilot, piloting the aircraft in the sky.
Thank very much!!!!!
You're welcome!
Thank you!
Smooth flying Roy! What a beautiful plane.
F3A flyers getting fewer n fewer as the years go by esp in my country. I hope more flyers get into it ♥️

With models that look like this and cost that much is it any real surprise?!

Really neat plane and flying skills.
F3A is amazing
Well done sir. Ignore the haters. Yes she is ugly but she is yours! They don’t have her, you do 😊
She is NOT ugly ! 🥺

This model is from CA Models in Argentina. Argentina and Brazil have great F3A, scale and 3D rc manufacturers

Do you know the weight of this plane? I was thinking of using a q80 in my 1/3 piper vagabond but I'm not sure if that's a good match
To me an odd-looking plane but it sure flew nice. Would have liked to have seen a 4-point roll.
Is this a 3D acrobatics plane? It's looks like it's capable of doing more than that!
No! Not 3D. F3A for precision aerobatic sequences.
Big shark
It’s hard to believe that something so ugly could fly so well! It’s like an Edsel airplane! 🍻

brrrr.. not nice plane but flying well. Looks like the Airbus Beluga :-)
I fully understand the desire to decrease the pilot's workload, but this is ridiculous.
I prefer to fly airplanes that look like airplanes.
Agreed. That has to be the ugliest aerobatic aircraft I’ve ever set eyes on.

Today F3A planes are so ugly! Nothing like 70's 80's 90's planes!
Fuselage is taller than the wing is deep… Don’t cut yourself on that knife-edge
Good thing they do not award appearance points in F3A!
The plane looks like a foamy profile model...or a bit like a sunfish...
