Olivia Scriven really impressed me with her performance this season. She did an incredible job.
I can relate to that scene where Maya is with her mom with the book so much. That's literally just like how I feel sometimes. Sometimes how I act. Very accurate.

I always suspected Maya had Bipolar or severe Depression. There have been red flags since Cam's suicide

Awe, "take care of Zig for me."Me being a Zaya shipper couldn't help hold on to that line. I feel that they connect and have something that is still present
that line is cute,
but i dont think they have anything together tbh. zig basically told cam that nobody cares about him and to kill himself, which he did, and then zig had no feelings about it for a while.. then maya still gets with him? i understand being friends but if zaya were to happen it shouldve been back in season 12
One biggest flaw in DNC is that they act like Zig n Maya had been dating forever.. well at least she mentioned cam like, once in s3.. and the writers seem like they try to erase Zig's role in destroying two of Maya's relationships.. one ended up in death of her boyfriend.. but worst part is that they all act like Miles n Maya never dated n Tristan was never Maya's BFF
Honestly I feel this was a storyline that could do deeper and deeper :/
I haven't seen someone like Maya who's been so like wierdly interested in death
But overall it was something very interesting
I wish so hard, that cam would still be there. Maya and cam deserves an happy ending..🙁
I wish Degrassi was a whole show on Maya and Tristan. Not those new students at school wtf!!! degrassi has changed so much
I honestly lost a lot of interest in Degrassi once the second half of season 11 premiered (Maya and Tristan's class). I think I really only watch it because I've been a loyal fan since the first season.
After watching this the second time, hearing her say "I'm gonna make it all better, I have a plan" is very sad. The only reason why she's so happy in that moment is because she's contemplating suicide.
I feel Maya has obviously more than just depression

IfyouBelieve I'm not trying to start an argument, but depression can be like how Maya is. She's really tired of the world, and maybe it was Zig saying "Everyone gets sad sometimes" that reminded her of Cam, because she said that to him too. Maya's story, in my opinion, is really realistic in a way even though people might not like her. She doesn't seem to have any disorder or anything, it's just the depression. It's a lot more dangerous than it may look in real life, but I'm glad they didn't make it crazy in this because she did have a lot of problems. People die from depression, it's a serious thing, and Maya is the best depiction of a depressed person I've seen so far. That's my opinion, so please don't get mad at me but Maya Matlin is my favorite character and even if you're not on the Maya Train like I am, she's someone a lot of people can relate to so I'm glad I found her.
She likely has PTSD with it, as someone with PTSD I get the hallucinations and mood swings and disociation and with all she's gone through I'm would not be surprised

So so true the one line there. It is a lifelong battle for some people. I'm one of them.
The part where she says "I'm gonna make it all better" feels so eerie to me because (maybe this is just how I feel) she says this to her family then tries to take her own life in the very next episode, like somehow she thought that her death would make everything better for the people around her. I have felt that way multiple times and its a feeling that digs deep to the point where you convince yourself that this is the only good solution.
It's the thoughts in our mind that always messes up in that and it can make us feel awful I know how it feels

I related so much much with this to my suicide. Once you go through something like hat it's easy to recognize it in other people the writers write this really well and relatable.

I dont think depersonalization deals with hallucinations. Maybe it does but mine doesn't. I thought hallucinations were more ptsd or schizo.
