Texan here. Lets acknowledge genius when we see it. The four bar linkage for lid on firebox with spring assist. This elevates the cowboy style firebox to the best Ive seen. The introduction of cool air at top of firebox entry door is significant for thermodynamic flow, and a new idea. Using barstock for gratings and the way they are assembled is innovative. Main chamber lid design is front opening so the top of cooking chamber can receive insulation. Front opening lid is counterweighted with what looks like reliable hardware. The firebox fire management looks good with its shape making easy operations and clean out. This is top flight engineering, innovation, and construction. Even here in Austin the insulative properties would be useful during winter.
Thank you very much for your appraisal :) We're currently adding a few other small quality of life mods to the demo unit that will get incorporated into future versions (along with a re-vamped construction utilising as many folded parts as possible).
That is another masterpiece the engineering on that is superb every aspect of heat control has been addressed and with so little effort the stainless steel internals are a bonus too, also brilliant “tour” and narration well explained! 👏
Thank you Dean! I'm glad our hard work hasn't gone unnoticed 😊There've been a few more design revisions from this initial version that I think you'd appreciate.
Really appreciate the kind words! We've also got some unique, incredibly heavy-duty stainless smash burger presses and new fire management basket designs that you might find interesting. If you fancy giving them a spin let us know :)
Друг, это великолепный аппарат! Молодец, отличное изделие!!!🤝привет с Кавказа! My friend, this is a great device! Well done, great product!!!Greetings from the Caucasus!🤝
Great pit, great job! I might be wrong, but the wheels seem parallel in every direction. If that is the case, you might want to consider applying the ackermann steering geometry.
Thank you! We did experiment with Ackermann steering geometry in the prototyping phase, however given the additional complexity and knock-on effect it was having to other areas of the design we decided against it given the single digit percentage reduction in tyre drag. Realistically you don't want to be moving a 1.5 ton smoker regularly haha.
Cheers! The dual airflow vents are controllable independently on our Fractal offset range - you're quite right in noting that the T200 has a few more 'because we can' design elements thrown into the mix :)
Thanks :) There's an 8mm thick flat top plancha insert that can be slid in to replace the firebox grill grates shown. We wanted to keep the top lid insulated to prevent heat loss, and to double up as some extra temporary storage space. We're actually revising the top lid design very slightly by adding a 30mm tall trim on the firebox side and overlapping trim on the lid (with a thicker integrated stove rope gasket) for a super tight seal and no possibility of water ingress. But the design is highly customisable so if someone did want an exposed flat top we could simply remove the insulation to the underside of the lid and add a small trim to the top.
Sounds great, I was just picturing with the fire underneath heating up that lid I could make some Philly cheese steaks with peppers and onions, toast some rolls. 😋
Well done! I never liked the look of traditional door counter weights. I tried torsion springs similar to yours but was unlucky with getting the spring rate correct. Either too much or not enough assist. Seems like torsion plus cable gravity counterweight might be the way to go.
You're not wrong, it's definitely a bit of a balancing act. The cooking chamber door was openable with just the springs but still needed some muscle, but the additional pulley counterweights make it completely effortless.
Being from USA, all I can say is.... IMPRESSIVE PIT!!!!!!!!! WOW, Very Nice, I want one. BUT - 12k pounds will be $15k and then... How Much to get it here??
Cheers! I should mention that the 12k figure is if you wanted to go further than what was shown here (alloy rims, customised logos, longer cook chamber etc). For shipping to the US via sea freight you're looking at just over £2K (assuming you can collect it from your local freight storage depot).
Thank you! We're currently exploring international shipping options and hope to have some good solutions available in the next couple of weeks. If you subscribe to our newsletter through the website we'll keep you updated.
The shopping on something that big and heavy would probably cost more than the smoker itself. Are you really willing to pay $nearly $30K for a home smoker?
@@jackbauer4186 Not necessarily - we've just managed to get door-to-door shipping options to the US down to around 1/3 of the cost of the smoker (via sea freight). That can be cut almost in half again the customer would be able to collect it from their chosen delivery depot in the US.
The beast is a great looking pit for sure. I can see the general resemblance, but the rack and pinion airflow vent control mechanism is about the only commonly shared aspect (which is functionally quite different on the Terraton 200). Regarding a reverse flow option, it's not something were too keen on for a few reasons, but mostly surrounding the radiant heat given off by the large baffle plate. With the way we've designed the throat geometry and airflow path on the Terraton 200 you get the best of both worlds: even end-to-end lower grate temperatures, and highly convective top-down airflow (which can be scaled back in velocity as needed).
Thank you! The we're offering this particular fully loaded pit for £8,999.99 as an introductory offer/as it's our demo unit. There is a full price and options list at the bottom of this page: www.leviathanpits.com/terraton-200 - do let us know if you have any other questions.

As a Texan, I approve of this beast.
Thank you, high praise indeed :)
Looks like WW2 Tank - was looking for someone in the Gunner seat when you opened the door
Haha, I'll take that as a win 😅
Legendary pit ideation guys, just top notch. Keep up the great work!

Absolutely fantastic! That's the best pit I've seen in a long time. Great job.
Thank you :)
Good Lord, looks like it came out of a Harland and Wolff shipyard.
Its massive and i love it.
Well done.
Haha, thanks!
WOW! I hope you guys stay in business forever, I have a lot of saving to do in order to b up this and I want one. Amazing build!
Beautiful! Leviathan is setting a new standard in pit design and features.
WOW! THAT IS A BEAST!

That is a beautiful pit, you're doing good
Love the pits great build and video quality. Another Texan here. We approve lol.
Thank you! A Texan seal of approval is always welcome.
Nice video.
This thing is a beast!

This is the Pit of all Pits!!!!
That thing is a TANK!!! for me i would like to control the firebox vent individually. But who cares what i think. The gear does look cool!!!
Cheers! The dual airflow vents are controllable independently on our Fractal offset range - you're quite right in noting that the T200 has a few more 'because we can' design elements thrown into the mix :)
Wow!! What a cooker!! Beautiful!!
Thank you 🙂
Amazing work. Well weell done!!!!
It’s a great looking smoker
Badass smoker.
Impressive pit!!
This pit is insane! Makes my broil king look like a toddler grill 😂
🤣
The only thing I’d like to see is the firebox lid engineered to double as a flat top griddle. Other than that it’s sick

How come you didn’t talk about the counterweight system, you spoke of it, great looking smoker pit
I'll do a follow up deep-dive video to cover the nitty-gritty details!
For a sec I thought there was going to be some type of motor underneath that would activate when you pulled/pushed the handle.
Well done! I never liked the look of traditional door counter weights. I tried torsion springs similar to yours but was unlucky with getting the spring rate correct. Either too much or not enough assist. Seems like torsion plus cable gravity counterweight might be the way to go.

I am very dissapointed!
I was waiting for it to transform into a robot
😅

Dream pit 🎉
Seems to been heavily inspired by the Hamrforge beast.
Are you planning to make it a reverse flow version?

I am sure you could pick up chicks with that pit. Outstanding!
Haha, cheers!
When will you post pricing for the Terraton 200?
Hey, there's a quick section about pricing at the 11 minute mark but please contact us if you'd like a detailed quote.
Beef cheek confit? Inspired by Leroy and Lewis?
The exact same, hands down one of the best items in BBQ and not a super long cook either.
VERY WELL MADE !
A VERY NICE PIT...😊
WHAT IS THE COST???

How much?
This one was sold for ~£9K. There's a full price breakdown/options list on our website if you're interested.
What in the world and how can I get one??
Just drop us an email :)
you've got the grease running towards the fire which seems crazy...other than that looks well made..$$$$
Cheers. There's a large dam between the bottom of the cooking chamber and the firebox opening so no possibility of grease entering the firebox.
If you send me one, I will gladly do a review of it on my social media for free
