Vintage V100 Single Cut. Deep Dive, Review & Demo Reverb- 2011 Vintage V100-TSB Gold Hardware Reissued Series Single Cut- Tobacco Sunburst W/ Hard Case reverb.com/item/73285122?utm_...
Hey I'm from the UK and I have one of these JHS Vintage V100's with grovers and gold hardware mine is the natural which looks like Mick Ronson's Les Paul Custom. Designed by Trev Wilkinson and uses his Pickups.. Nice piece of kit. I would never buy a Gibson but I'm glad I purchased this V100 it sounds awesome and is great to play...
I have a V100, I've used it live and in the studio. It has excellent sustain and playability. After Covid, I keep it in my living room, so I use it all the time....Great Guitar...
I have a V100 TSB (Left handed). I do love the guitar. It has a beefy neck. I changed the knobs they seem cheap to me. When I got the guitar, the G string tuner was already shot. When I went to change it I found out that the hole for the tuning post was drilled on an angle. So, instead of straightening the hole, I suspect they just bent the post over on the tuner so that the post would go in, and have the tuner sit flush against the back of the headstock. I took it one step further lol instead of bending the post, I filed down the edges of the new tuner that sit flush on the back of the head stock, so that it matched the angle of the hole. The post went in, and the tuner sits flush. Someday I'll take it someone to fix and put on better tuners. To be honest, it stay's in tune pretty good. Maybe that's the trick to keeping the G string in tune, drill the hole on an angle 🤔Compared to the TSB in this video, my burst is much darker along the edges, has a contoured heel and black plastic to cover the cavities on the back. If the serial number (which is a different numbering scheme than this one) is any indication, it's a 2019.
The photo in my icon is my 2010 Vintage V100 Tobacco Sunburst the older ones are the best ones to look for , pickups and hardware are made in Korea the newer ones are M series which is I believe Ceramic made in China, I believe these model buckers are Alnico 5 incredible value it has features that the higher end Gibson's have, i
The new ones I believe have weight relief. I looked at a couple and they had the weight on their website. Most were right around 8.4 lbs which is great for a LP.
The vintage v100 tobacco sunburst has a maple cap . It's a 2021. I have one and I have pictures. It's actually fairly thick maple. I have a 2014 tea burst and it's made entirely of mahogany and considerably heavier.
I have a cherry burst, one piece mahogany V100, from 2012-2013, and the sound it's much better. It's much more present, more mids, and the sustain it's just crazy. Even not plugged in the amp, it has a high volume when plucked, and i can play it in a quiet room, like an acoustic guitar. Now i want to change the switch, as it is loose. The guitar has 5.2 kg. I had a friend who bought a tobacco burst, and the guitar was dead in comparison with mine, plugged and acoustic, even with new strings. I use the elixir nanoweb and i didn't understood why, i thought that mine will sound duller. So they are kind of hit or miss, and i pulled the very long straw with it.
Vintage show how much of a rip off Gibson are. I have 2 vintage guitars, an LP and a Tele. I've had the Tele for nearly 20 years. I've never had to any repairs. Minor occasional set ups. That's all.
I dig the detailed breakdown

That is an early one. The later ones have a scoop at the neck joint, probably to appease Gibson though it allows better access to the higher frets.

I worry about your repair skills!
I have over 2500 repairs over twenty years. You don't need to worry 😉
