Hey there. I just got a 89 studio. Very similar except Wine Red, dot inlays and Bill Lawrence original HBR and HBL pickups. I have an SG standard with the 490R 498T pickups in it and wanted you to know that the pole pieces in the 498s are spaced further apart than the 490 because of the wider string spacing at the bridge that the pickup was designed for. Hope this helps.

I just bought a similar guitar from 1974. A framus Atlantic 6 with the same pu's. Very similar with fake f hole but other bridge and different vibrato system.

I wouldn't give seymor duncan any money.he sold that co.long ago.since then soo much better has come along. Even lollar has become too precious for me.i love quality but something about this company bothers me...i really dont know what it is.

Love it. Had a 94 in wine red. Great instrument. Ignore the "clean it" comments. I have 2 black les pauls and 2 black 1980 epiphone genesis and no matter how much you clean them they ALL look like this after a couple outings.

so i literally just got an 06 mk 5 warlock for 75$ off marketplace august 17th. I couldnt pass up the deal, and to my surprise it is an absolute shredder. needed new strings, had original and were rusty, all the intonation was untouched by the one owner and spot on, fretboard needed cleaning and oil. the pickups are very very good, also surprising. great sustain, they are a ply body but done very well. i have a jackson js32 and also an ibanez rg550, for this thing being a hard bridge it is mind blowing good for metal. this was a real come up score i got. perfect metal head playable wall art that looks badass but it is a hard body shape for people to swallow.

how can i learn to do my own guitar repairs? just someone thats broke and looking to be self sufficient with this kinda stuff. I figure youtube and learning on cheap guitars through trial and error works, but maybe theres a way without ruining guitars?

BC Rich guitars reportedly were using agathis wood for the bodies, at least during the 2000s. It could have been used for longer than that. Agathis is infamous for being an undesirable wood to make guitars with, according to many tonewood arguments. The Bronze Series, at least around the 2000s, were notorious for having poor QC. Bad electronics, poor construction, etc. It's such a shame because BC Rich makes really good guitars. Thankfully, BC Rich is making guitars that are much better than the Bronze Series, but the management they're under right now has complications of their own.

Great guitar but i have a 2020 i just bought used to find out that the fretboard is extremely extremely rough feeling. I have 9 other Gibsons and none of them feels that rough on the fretboard. I oiled the board and put new strings and it has helped a little but it still feels much rougher than my others. It plays and sounds fantastic though and hoping it'll smooth out with more play time. I don't want to resort to steel wool. Any thoughts? Thanks

Yeah...there's no way on Earth you crack the headstock all the way off to reglue. That's highboy talk. I have a Bigsby '72 deluxe with the very same neck crack but repaired with glue injection. The luthier picked it up just BY THE HEADSTOCK, upside down, to show me the repair would hold. And it did. Great guitar, for real.

I have this guitar as well. I have Taylor, Martin, and Gibson acoustics and find myself playing this guitar more than those. Beautiful instrument.
