- It's boarding day for the Freedom of the Seas in January 2022. I discuss all things embarkation, new safety protocols, and give you a quick ship tour of the newly amplified Freedom of the Seas!
Freedom of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. The ship was launched in 2006 and was the largest cruise ship in the world until Oasis of the Seas debuted in 2009. The ship was on a 3-day sailing to Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau, Bahamas. Freedom of the Seas currently sails out of Miami, Florida.

You can get better deals if you book ahead of time. Wait for one of the sales where they offer up to 35% off excursions. You don’t need an excursion for Perfect Day at CocoCay. The beaches and large pool there are all free.

Do you know if "fully vaccinated" means initial shots and no booster? I called the cruise line and they said booster is not required but i wanted to be sure.
Hi there! I take fully vaccinated to mean the original two doses. I don’t think the cruise lines ever made the booster shot a requirement.

You’ll want to check with the cruise line for that to make sure you’re getting the proper test that they require. Usually your local health clinic or pharmacy can provide a test.
I've never sailed on a cruise ship.. I get seasick on small yachts. Should I be afraid of seasickness?
Good question - probably not as much motion to make you sick on a large cruise ship compared to a yacht. But you might want to pick up some Dramamine to take with you just in case. I always see a lot of folks on cruises wearing the patches behind their ears.

Is there any cruises that doesn't require wearing masks after boarding?
I don’t know of any line that is still requiring masks onboard. I think they’re all mask free now.

If everyone needs to be vaccinated, what’s the need for the bracelet? Or do you not need to be vaccinated?
Everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated must be. However, they make exemptions for children under 12 I believe. 95% of the guests must be vaccinated.
