  • What do you do when oysters are $0.58 each? You eat them on the weekly, of course! Don’t be intimidated by the shells. They are super easy to prep, cook, open, and eat. You don’t need anything you don’t already have in your kitchen! Here’s my recipe for cooking oysters in the oven. Enjoy!
The oyster shucking knife I have: amzn.to/2jRIPiC
    *Amazon affiliate link
    Ingredients/tools:
    - oysters in shell (as many as you can eat!)
    - oven-safe pans/sheets
    - toothbrush (recommended)
    - aluminum foil (optional)
    - metal fork/butter knife or oyster shucking knife (amzn.to/2jRIPiC)
    - salt, pepper, lime, hot sauce (all optional)

Awesome. Thank you. Too many 20 minute instructional videos with little/incomplete information. Yours was short and sweet and my oysters didn’t go bad while I was waiting.

You could open them before baking so you can put garlic/butter in them while they bake and then the soup is SO good.

This is a great way to cook oysters, If you or any of your fans every catch them yourself or them self , make sure they Shuck them were they catch them and leave the shell behind, baby oysters form on the shells of adult oysters that's why its important to leave the shells behind, to promote the oyster bed, if you take them home shell-less, flash boil them at no less than 160 for 30 seconds to 1 minute. than you can bake them to make up for the lack of shell bake them in a Priceline dish or pot which will act like the shell, if you own Chinese soup spoons you can bake them individually in the spoons, which make great party treats for special guest and still saves the oyster beds. Have fun and always think what you can do to return to the environment. Great video by the way.

Thank you for this. Finally a simple video where you cook the oysters closed. So many videos shuckiing them first which is not my preferred method of cooking oysters. Great Video.

glad you enjoyed them (minus prying them open part)! do you have an oyster shucking knife? I used to pry them open with a metal fork but found that an oyster shucking knife is so much easier. the oysters really make us work for it, huh?

Put some pico de Gallo together and sprinkle that on plus your other ingredients and that is where it’s at! Switch out tapatío for some salsa huichol and you’re set!

May I suggest a Madeleine pan is far better because it already has indentations to place the oysters to hold the upright, or crumpling aluminum foil to create "nests" to hold the oysters upright rather than putting them onto a cookie sheet without the aid of something to hold them upright

Thanks for the tips. What if you use parchment paper so not using so much foil unless you rinse it and recycle. Aluminum should always be recycled. thanks

For two cookie sheets of a dozen oysters on each, set side by side in the oven, how long do you usually cook yours to the doneness shown in the video? Like not completely dried and shrunken, still a little juicy. Thanks! Excellent concise video
