I was late to find out about Laels route. Not only did she pass through the city i currently live in, she went right by the house i grew up in which was 2 hours away. A friend from my hometown was able to ride with her to show her support, two others were able to snap a photo of her riding over the Suspension bridge! Best of luck on your tour Lael!
I do dices like this but watch the forecast so I don't ride in bad weather. This video has inspired me to get out irrespective of the weather. I'll have a shower and clean clothes waiting at the end. Love it 🤘🏼
Such an inspirational lady, best of luck on your record attempt, around the world ride. This fantastic bike will hopefully ensure a safe journey. Take care Lael!❤
love Lael's spirit...hope she can find the right tech support along the way - lots of places where this set up will make it hard for her to find spares unless she has a sag wagon and a bike mechanic
That was relaxing to watch. Everything looking precision. The prismatic graphics on the front is a nice touch. French fries ready to go...but where is the melted ice cream tank? ; )
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! 🧐 Need some advice: 🙏 I only have these words 🤔. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). Not sure how to use them, would appreciate help. 🙏
That's a dream endurance build. On a ride this long, did Lael also have technical support? I'd imagine she would had had to deal with quite a bit of wear and tear.
Hey there, can anyone tell me or give me some more informations about the mounting parts on the aerobars? Ruckus? Does anyone know where to find and order these mounting parts? Thank you.
Nice set up! I’ve seen good questions posted, without any response from the producer of this content, e.g., brand of bags on this bike. Bueller, Bueller…channel owner, anyone?
There's a podcast episode about all of the choices behind the bike build. Really interesting listen. Lael's thumb nail turned black and fell off when using mechanical on another ultra endurance ride. I'm sure sponsors may have factored a bit in the decision as well though.
I'm also surprised by the decision of going with electronic shifting. Having to keep batteries charged up to simply be able to shift would be last thing I would want to worry about pedaling around the world. Although she probably has a Son dynamo to take care of that.
@@nicofinfinaud She explained on the podcast (Lael rides around the world on Spotify) she's doing that it's mostly because of the hands, mechanical shifting over the distances that she does is harder on her hands, electronic shifting helps alleviate the pain in her fingers, so that's why. She's got extra batteries and a battery bank to charge all her electronics.
Are you seriously giving this poor woman a plastic bottom bracket from a Happy Meal to ride around the world? One can only hope she swaps that out for an Enduro the first moment you’re not looking.
she's gonna have to stop to carry and charge a good amount of spare batteries... and let's hope the derailleurs don't fail in the middle of nowhere, just like what happened to Lachlan Morton in tour divide
@@SRAM I don’t doubt that. On multiday events tho it gets exhausting and every bit of help is priceless. Force Wide 43/30 to 36 cassette is endurance bike perfection. I built my own bike with it-happy as a pig in mud…😂
Well it is a sponsored bike, ofc they want to showcase the new red groupset. Best case would be force wide 43/30 with the new red shifters and ofc 36t cassette
@@I3ene1 I think the new Force shifters will be better on longer rides, shape is comfier. But I am yet to see the new RED live so can't be sure about that until I try them.
Most ultra cyclists including all the big records were done on electronic lol. The current world record for fastest around the world by bicycle is also electronic.

I joined her ride when she passed through my city. It was pooring rain and there she was, huge smile on her face. Super happy and positive 😊
lael is the goat
edit: the top tube fries are always iconic of course
the freakin french fries at the end 😂
All the best Lael!
I really love that cockpit mounts.
You make it seem so simple & easy...
Guess if done many builds it would be simple, easy & fast...
Thanks ...
Nice Video...

I was just here for the large order of fries, then realized there's a bike build going on. Looks like a nice way to carry your ride food.
Lael is my hero! I absolutely adore her. All my bikes are steel or Ti but I would so love a bike like this, even without fenders, 🙂
Few sports so mechanically technical with equipment, but so satisfyingly intimate down to the fries. Pro wrenching and Pro, Pro ride Lael. :)

Good list 👍 Lael !
Schönes Video ❤. Ich hätte mich gefreut wenn auch die Elektrik von Dynamo, Handyladung und Licht 💡 im Video Platz gefunden hätte. 🚴
show all the build problems and him cursing his life.
I think he's a she pretending to be he
Such a rad build!
stunning bike, were those chips in the top tube bag ? Macdonald ?
Love it!

That BB needs some work lol
the fries 😁 love it

Stunning bike.
Lael is a beast!
Ain’t nothing going to break on that bad-ass bike!!!
Awsome
What a GOAT and she eats french fries as well!! Be safe and enjoy!!
I have the same bike and Im looking for the best option to add aero bars. can I ask what set up you have there?
Hey there, can anyone tell me or give me some more informations about the mounting parts on the aerobars? Ruckus? Does anyone know where to find and order these mounting parts? Thank you.
Details are on her podcast.
P.s. what size frame does Lael rock?
What is the cool music at the start? Shazam doesn't see to recognize it.
What are her bags? I can’t find that anywhere.
She'll need 4 or 5 of those future shock cartridges over the months out.
You know she badass when she loaded only chips, and no ketchup
Nice set up! I’ve seen good questions posted, without any response from the producer of this content, e.g., brand of bags on this bike. Bueller, Bueller…channel owner, anyone?
Why front and back wheels are different?
Vincenza Pass
You know this mechanic is the a G because they not only have the wera Allen keys but the cute short ones 😂
electronic for ultra endurance😱
This build makes zero sense on more than one level but hey..people are free to do whatever they damn please with their money…

@@londonbornuk if they figure out the battery problem, then it wouldnt be a problem at all
depending on the front light Lael attaches to her dynamo hub, she'll likely have a USB port for charging batteries and phone while riding. No prob.
❤
Therapy!
I want one.
Why would you install the rear derailleur before aligning the hanger?
not everything makes the final cut.

She's charging batteries? How?
With electricity

Veronica Neck
and I have GI problems just watching youtube. Some people are just built better
Oily fingers yumm

This bike is not for Around the World! It is not ever like to her mom's bike 2005... I feel sorry for Lael.
she's gonna have to stop to carry and charge a good amount of spare batteries... and let's hope the derailleurs don't fail in the middle of nowhere, just like what happened to Lachlan Morton in tour divide
She addresses this in her podcast. She’ll be carrying a power bank so she can charge anywhere.
@@MnBicycleCommuter i wish her luck
She’ll be fine.
She's been riding on electronic shifting for years. The distances that she does and does it very successfully, I think she knows what she's doing 😂
Wrong build.
Roubaix SWorks with Force Wide is where its’s at
43/30 chainrings to 36t cassette.
Lael is pretty strong tho

maybe you could do it better riding around the world?
5:59 how do you figure out how to measure the correct length to push the seat back for someone 6'4 ?
