Maldy will be catching in Richmond AAA next season, worst hitting catcher in AL. Diaz was looking at Dusty in the bottom of the 4th inning and wondering why Maldy was still batting with 2 on base. Dusty told him, "Its a 9 game series, sit down".

I can finally forgive the Cards for 2011 since they gave us El Bombi and Coach Maddux.
I feel like he did a great job getting in the Astros' heads. Usually if someone is swinging like this they'd pitch around him but I feel like they really wanted to preserve their egos and beat him so were actually throwing him hittable pitches trying to strike him out and paid the price.
They almost* succeeded in game 6, struck him out 4 times, only for him to hit a Grand Slam to close out the game. So in the end he just owned them, like he did the game before and then the next.

A man more dominating than cruz. A man that can STEP UP THE PLATE ON THE BIGGEST STAGE OF THEM ALL. This mad man did something Cruz couldn't even do. BEAT THE MAN. Game 1 of the WS was all we needed from him after this performance of a lifetime. I can't not wait for APRIL BABY.
What a performace he gave in the ALCS! He even silenced the Minute Maid Park in the last two games... We'll see what he can dow in the World Series against Phillies or Diamondbacks.

If texas wins the ws, correct me if I'm wrong, but, I don't think they've won since the 60s, so this is one of the clubs in baseball with one of the longest gap periods in between a ws. I'm definitely rooting for them, this team is a exciting fun team to watch in every way, I hope they finish off this magical run they've had with a world series championship.

The analogy I'd have here is if Adolis were Kirby and swallowed Yordan whole, thus gaining his batting abilities. Adolis alone accounted for more than a third of the Rangers' total runs in the ALCS.
For the record, I wasn't necessarily rooting for the Rangers to win the ALCS (not surprising considering I'm a Mariners fan), but rather for the Astros to lose.

I get why he won but if the V in MVP stands for Value then 7 of his RBI’s had none and Monty’s 14 innings 2 runs allowed were way more valuable.

I actually think his confrontation with the catcher messed with the pitchers heads for the next few games. He should have been suspended no doubt. Sure he got plunked but how are you going to assume it was on purpose given the scenario of the game at the time? The Astros are trying to win. I’m sure there’s been plenty other players to hit big home runs against them and show boated after and they didn’t get beaned. Just saying, MLB dropped the ball big time here. Or, they just didn’t want Houston to advance. Guess they’re happy now. Pretty sad that they can’t ever get things right.
