    Thank you for sharing!! I've been going back and forth trying to decide on the best size for my projects (multiarts). This was informative and helpful when coming to a conclusion! Thank you!!!

    Because I live in the UK, I'm used to the weird sizes. An A4 is basically the size of normal sheet of printer paper, roughly the 8.5x11 size, and the A3 is like the standard larger printer paper size. I actually have an A3 light pad that I bought for my design course that requires a lot of drawing, tracing, etc. Now that I'm thinking about starting the diamond painting it seems handy that I already have one. Love the idea of the button cover!

    I went for the A3 right away. Love it. Mine has the cord directly in the pad. I watched a lot of videos where folks complained about the 'USB directly in the light pad' type .. so I didn't get that kind. Great video Lisa .. I'm sure it will help lots of folks. :)

    I had my smaller light pad A4 with the plug in on the side do the same thing, and I wasn’t unplugging it either. It like the cord got a short in it where it plugs into the light pad. Now I have a rechargeable one A4, which I like for my snack size DP.. My large light pad is like yours and plugs in the same way. It stays on my art table all the time. I have to have a light pad when I’m working on a DP. It makes it much easier. Thank you for sharing!

    I have the A2 and the A4. I love the 4, sometimes the diamond painting is just shy of the edge. I am going to get an A 3. I love the covers ,you showed. Please, link where I can get them. Thank you. Mary Ann

    I am a brand new diamond painter, and I bought my first kit, and decided I needed a light pad. I knew nothing about them. I looked on Amazon, and decided I wanted one with a Selfstand. So I purchased it. It turned out to be an A3. I am delighted with the size. I accidentally got the size that I really wanted. I knew nothing about the A1through A5 series. But the A3 is perfect. For now anyway.

    I’m so happy I found this video even though I know it’s a bit old. I wanted to try this hobby and bought a kit and have a really struggled just looking at it trying to figure out how I was going to start. I just happen to find my old light table recently and brought it out and lo and behold. I can actually see the symbols now! I don’t think I can really use it long-term for this craft because it’s angled and makes it kind of awkward to hold the stylus, but I just wanted to see what might improve my vision.
    As to these weird sizes, the “a” and a number designation, is likely from the printing industry. Paper used to be manufactured to a certain size and it was basically halved. The A1 would be newspaper like. My guess would be since the printing industry used light tables for their proofs so the size of the tables, and now these pads, has just stuck with the printing industry sizes..
    Thank you for sharing.

    Nice video.I have the A2 secured to my drafting table for large paintings.And the A3 for the smaller paintings. Didn't know there was a "mini" light pad. Where would you even put an A1?!🤷🏾‍♀️.

      I cannot imagine!! I believe an A1 would fit on my big drafting table but barely. I know I definitely don't need a light pad that big.

    I got a diamond painting kit that had the LED 3 way light pad A4 sized, not sure of the exact brand though. It came with quite a few other things that are commonly used for diamond painting. I only paid $27.99 for the full kit. I do find the light pad helpful esp. with the dark colors but it does make it hard to see what side of the dark diamond are facing upright though.

    The a3 is not coming up and would a 40cm by 40cm diamond painting work on an a3?

    I am just discovering DP. I am disabled and seeking something to not only fill the long and empty hours, but to also attempt to distract me from my 24/7 pain. I was hit by someone texting and driving. 3 back surgeries in and placed on permanent disability and they wanted to do neck surgery as well but I said no (there's a reason I'm boring you with my history) Because of my issues, I'm unable to sit or bend my neck for not much more than 15 mins or so and will be doing most of my work in bed. (I will try working at a table but have the feeling it will be limited) I will be trying to do this in bed. I plan to get either a lap desk or a tilting bed tray and utilizing a light pad. So here are my thoughts and question: with being on a limited budget, I know that I'll be skipping straight to the A3 for certain. What I'm wondering is...would I end up wishing that I skipped to the A2 instead? Or will that be just to cumbersome? My thought is that way I'd be able to put the majority of any sized canvases on it without having to move, shift and/or manipulate the canvas or worry about creasing or ruining the canvas. Would an A2 be overkill? Will it be too big and bulky to handle?
    (I found both a A2 and an A3 that have the non usb power supply. And both have the light adjustment as a rheostat knob furnace switch box so it's completely separate from the pad itself which I think will be really nice period and third at a really decent price. The A2 is $65 and the A3 is $39)
    Thanks in advance for any thoughts, suggestions or input you may have for me! ☺

    • @LisasColoringCorner
      @LisasColoringCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow those are great prices. I guess the size of light pad you’d want would depend on what size diamond paintings you plan on doing. If you plan on doing anything bigger than maybe a 40 cm wide one, you might want an A2. But they are quite big. Not sure if it would be too big for bed or not.

    • @1wascallywabbit
      @1wascallywabbit 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LisasColoringCorner I may be brand new to all of this but I have done quite a bit of reading/research. I went ahead and purchased the A2 this morning. As you said, I felt the price was something to take advantage of (paid $66.81) and with it having the separate rheostat type of brightness control, being a butt joint connection and wall plug...I went for it.
      If it ends up being to cumbersome for bed I can always step down in size even though about any canvas I would choose to do at this juncture, would fit on this one in it's entirety. (I have now found an A3 and A4 with basically the same type of light switch. And both magnetic like the A2 as well.
      I'm in the process of ordering a tilting bed table as we speak that's 23.5" x 17.5"...so the A2 should fit on it completely with the exception of an inch or so.
      It will be a big set up but completely supported.
      Now, just hoping like heck I end up really liking Diamond Painting 😜
