I grew up there in the late 60's thru the 80's, mostly bs'd at 18th Street, Newport point when I was 12-15, but went to the wedge when it was clean.............got my clock cleaned a few too many times, that wave has teeth. Stuck to board surfing after that. Kudos to the crazies that still rock it, but make sure your health insurance is up to date.
nice to see bodysurfing at the wedge. it's a whole different deal being in wild nature without the advantage of a stick for protection, . like a board surfer . this place is famous for being responsible for more lost fins and broken collar bones than any other place in southern California.
there is the wedge, and not the wedge. most people shouldn't be out in those conditions, that's why the crowd is on the beach watching people on " garbage".waves and not in the water.
Woaw that's dope! Great video :)
Thanks!

Yes indeed!
I tied my fin strap on with a shoe lace. Never lost one.
Stupid bodyboarders cutting people off at a bodysurfing competition
Nice
Thanks!
Those wave are garbage. When I rode the Wedge the side wave was super and I could ride it to the peak and come out of the barrel. Frontslider.
