the top ten
You missed mine! That time Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters took over Dave’s show!
@@erzaender They said top ten.
@@barbarabavier675 the dave's top ten
Stupid Pet Tricks
Bill Murray's Liberace entrance
Celebs filling in when he was out with heart surgery.
Absolutely loved Norm on that last show. That was a once in a lifetime chance to see how much Letterman meant to him.
David Letterman. The good old days. I got into his show as a teenager at a time with no cable access. Watched pretty much every night I think. I think I miss that show. Probably was one of the highlights during that time of my life.
Charles Grodin was probably my favorite repeat guest from the old show. Both shows were nightly viewing for me growing up, but there was nothing like the original Late Night show from the 80's.
Loved CG's appearances on Letterman and Carson. He acted as if he had zero respect for either host which made his appearances fascinating.
Best guessed on both shows
As a teenager living in Brazil, watching Dave was completely mind blowing. He made me "get" comedy for what it could be.
I remember when Dave returned to the show after having heart surgery and how he got choked up when referring to the doctor who "saved his life" as being one of the most memorable moments on the show. Surprised it didn't make the list.
Same.
The Lawyer and Kauffman thing was a total work and both were good friends in real life
As much as I enjoy Colbert and Batiste, I miss Dave and Paul on the late night circuit.
Letterman can always provide a great interview
It is notable that at the very beginning, Dave was, self-admittedly, a very poor interviewer and, by the time the new millennium appeared, he was probably the best interviewer of the late night talk show hosts. Love seeing people improve their skills over time.
#1 is Norm. I approve of this video.
As much as I enjoy Chris Farley and that high energetic entrance, only one celebrity had the greatest exit from late show with David Letterman. That is the 1 and only Jim Carrey. During an episode right before New Year's Eve 1999, they had Jim carry on and they asked him how he was going to celebrate the new year. He it he led the audience it's in a countdown from 10 to 0. He then pretended it was the New Year and he ran around acting like a complete psycho like only he can. He eventually exited the Ed Sullivan Theater through the stage door, went outside, took his shirt off, and danced around on top of an NYC cab screaming "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" over and over again.
Carrey also had the best entrence, too, where he repeatedly did not appear when his name was called, and then Dave went to look for him and found him trapped in an arcade-type claw machine.
Happy 75th Birthday to David Letterman, on Behalf of the Entire Watchmojo Family
Do Craig Ferguson next!
Letterman + "Dave'sMom"made my life (along with the Star trek movies)-. Michael McClary, Professor of Trumpet 🎺- Georgia Perimeter College & GSU
The best regular guest he ever had was Sandra Bernhard.
Just like he started off, wasn't Bill Murray Dave's final guest?
Yes, as there was no sit-down guest for the last show, and Murray also did #1 on the last Top Ten list. Foo Fighters were the last musical guests.
Murray was also the first guest when Dave moved to CBS, and was a guest on Dave's second-to-last show.
"I was born in upper AND lower Bavaria 2 years after the discovery of dirt! I grew up a child prodigy. At the age of 6, my second novel had been published, before I was 10 I could change my own diapers!" 😂😂😂
I loved how David would embarrass Teri Garr and even talked her into taking a shower on the show
Legend has it that Murray was drunk during that first appearance.
Or that's just bill Murray in general lol
How do you not have bill hicks on here? Like honesty
Dave interviewing George Michael, interview with Simon le bon.
R.i.p. Alan kalter and Barbra walters ending letterman then was a great idea cause thoes participants are deceased now
How does one forget the many appearances of Harmony Korine?
It's difficult, but with practice you can do it.
My favorite tv legend !!!
#1 Madona 1994 appearance. Period.
Bill Murray is the 👑 🐐. 🤘🏻
Farrah Fawcett deserves a place on this list.
Are you Howard stern ?😅
I mean, Letterman has a channel posting every day now. Just go over there instead of sitting thru this.
Joaquin Phoenix is an absolute legend 🙌!
Where's Pea Boy?
Who’s the guy riding the camel on the first clip?
Peter O'Toole (à la Lawrence of Arabia).
@@allendracabal0819 thank you
Farrah Fawcett didn't make the top 20???
Dave's return to the show after having heart surgery should definitely be here.
Yep, you beat me to it.
Agreed! His last shiw was great, but his 1st after his by-pass surgery was magic.
Drew Barrymore what a wild woman LOL
Why isn't Hatsune Miku up there?
Because it's a top 20 list. Not top 350.
She should have been, though.@@allendracabal0819
just commenting that I’m not watching your video with 3 fucking pre roll ads.
just commenting that you're an idiot for watching YT without an ad blocker
What about that time when he was being a total creep to Jennifer Anniston? Creepily kissing her and touching her. Yuck!
Whats the name of the comedian from the 90s with the weird voice that he interviewed? He seemed really off, had messy hair can't remember.
Bobcat Goldthwait?
Emo Philips?
Sam Kinison?
@@allendracabal0819 bobcat, absolutely worst comedian I've ever seen. Even worse than shumer.
RIP David Letterman

Nobody other than boomers watch late night tv. Those shows are so awful
I can’t stand Madonna!
Also not fond of Joaquin Phoenix either.
