I find myself coming back to this song over and over. The Four Tops were brilliant. Having grown up with all this great music it always boggles my mind that people don’t know all these songs. However, seeing your joy in discovering the sheer amount of musical glory that is the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s redeems all. By the way, 30’s through 50’s popular music was pretty darn good as well. Drops off a bit in the 90’s and very sparse nowadays in comparison. I blame autotune and computers for the lack of creativity.

Motown will allways be close to my heart man as a detroiter its just a blessing being the founders of this beautifull music plus on a deeper more personal level wen my piece of shit father was beating the shit out of my mom and my family was doing there bullshit hood shit motown music was what put a smile on my moms face she just didnt give a fuck about being beaten up and treated like shit aslong as she had baby me at home with her and she had her motown music blasting out on her old vinyl record player because its that music that just makes u feel good inside and touches ur soul....no matter how fucked up life was nothing could break my moms when she had her music in her life even wen she had the cancer and she was taking her last few breaths right up untill the very end she had her record player at her bedside and she had the biggest smile on her face listening to her vinyls she died halfway thru singing the drifters up on the roof her last breath was singing her ass off to her favourite band...thats why music means so much to me and i raised my kids on the importance of music

@@justinthyme5382 im lucky enough in a way that my mom is buried in woodlawn cemetery in detroit and she shares the cemetery with so many musical icons so wen ever i get to visit the cemetery to lay flowers for my mom i have my own little tradition i keep where il buy a load of single roses and il spend and extra hour up there laying a rose for all the pioneers...my mom is buried 3 plots up from laurence payton from the four tops, there is levi stubbs there from the four tops, aretha franklin and all her family are buried there, bobbie smith from the spinners, david ruffin from the temptations, ronald and david glenn winans from the winans family....because there music had such an impact on my moms life and my life its just an honor for me to lay a rose for them as a thank you for there contribution.......thats the only thing i like about being a detroit boy knowing so many of the pioneers came from my local area and being able to pay my respects

They always played great music; it's what you went for. DJs were like rock stars. Motown was always on the playlist. Everyone was so slim back then I'm sure it's all the grooving we did. On the other hand I was sneaking into clubs aged 15/16 exactly because of the music. We didn't want to pull or drink we just wanted to dance. This would be 76/77. They always played great music; it's what you went for. DJs were like rock stars. Motown was always on the playlist. Everyone was so slim back then I'm sure it's all the grooving we did. I danced my arse off. You're pretty good mover yourself actually. 💃👯

My FAVORITE music is R&B, Motown, Soul... Great and sexy music! This generation of Mainstream music is awful. I mean there are a few great ones out there like Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, etc... I was born in '69, so I remember this music. Classic R&B, Soul, Rock... Such great music!
