Wow, ive just come back to watch the last half of this video. Some guy reviewing the S18 said "going on forrest trails is too stressful on the suspension" So he "gives it a break" and im saying to the wife ..."too stressful on suspension?? is that not what the suspension is for?" 😂 so i showed her the rest of this video! :) Love your Style mate, the way you talk on video you come accross like a really cool guy. Hope you do well with TH-cam mate and super well done on the weight loss....would never have guessed you used to be...big! Respect man! 🙏

5:20 you are describing target fixation, In a race track driving course the always taught us look where you want to go, not what you want to avoid. Anyone who rides a bike can vouch for this, if you stare down something you are trying to avoid chances are you will hit it.

I ride, can vouch that we all know about target fixation. Always good to reiterate to the new riders (be it on one wheel or two). :-D

Hey Chooch I can't tell you how many times I've been called lazy or a cheater on the mt bike trails. Then I take off my helmet, sweat dripping down my face and say " bikes are so yesterday". They have no words lol

LOL I was one of the new ones brought in by kuji rolls VETERAN SHERMAN video just like you mentioned. That's wild. It's all the algorithm, bro. TH-cam put it on everyone's suggested even people who have never seen an euc before (me before kujis video)
I'm now a proud MSP 100v new torque version and I trail ride EVERY DAY (sometimes all night too)
I'll be at the Cali meet up and ride! I'll be practicing to be legend

I just started doing trails with my MSX and it’s so fun. Ordered an MSP and I am going to an off-road tire on to kill the trail. Can’t wait.

Another great one, Chooch. Good advice about looking a distance ahead. When I am driving a car, I always look a pretty good distance ahead, which has saved me numerous times. However, as of yet, I have not transferred that habit to my wheel. Starting with my next ride, I will incorporate the same habit, thanks to you.

    Hey Chooch,
I know this is an old vid but it was great to hear your thoughts about ‘some weird mojo going on’- its the coolest but craziest thing about riding these wheels, and I’m guessing all new EUC riders discover it once they relax a bit.
There IS a massive connection somehow about state of mind and quality/ease of ride, just you describe- its certainly worth mentioning and celebrating!
Ive got an KSs18 so of course I’m loving seeing you ride this on these amazing trails. It’s interesting watching the progression in a year of what’s on the market now in May 2022 and what’s about to appear- tho for me personally as a girl, the increased weight and width never mind the price makes these machines completely unapproachable. My s18 is really about as heavy as i can manage and do enough damage to myself on!

Really is I bet that sherman on offroad trails will really make someone develop a whole new set of muscles over time throwing all that weight around with core strength.

alright... A few days later and I've just bought from your aff link. I had a really hard time deciding between the s18 and v11, but for those of you who might be in the same boat, here's my thoughts. I'm coming from dirt bikes and mountain bikes, and for me having a progressive feel with nice dampening is just a must. It feels great to have a dialed in mountain bike, so that's what I want for my E-wheel. This thing seems like the KTM of E-wheels!

I learned about EUC’s recently from a friend I mountain bike with. I had no idea you could take these on the trail. I’ve been hooked on these vids ever since. I want to buy one so I keep watching EUC vids because I’m learning. I also like seeing all the different locations around the world from the EUC perspective. You can really get a good feel for what some places are like.

if you look at that kuji sherman review video you mentioned, you see he shot dozens of angles and dozens of different tricks and moments. your stuff is great too.. the main course is the riding and the air for me.. it's like your stream of consciousness as you ride, but clearly recorded afterward in reflection. You're coming from this background of your dad pushing you in motocross and now this you get to do your own way. maybe the format you have now is the best thing for what you want to be doing, or maybe it's just the beginning.
you could clip a lavaliere mic into the helmet and hook it up with a cheap recorder to get these moments to feel more immediate. more angles. more tricks. working with other unicyclists is a fun dimension with new possibilities..
one of the cool things about this brand new sport is that the progression is not only unclear but even unknown in huge areas.
I think there's three types of riding that intersect.
    1. speed
    2. freestyle
    3. distance/commuting
it's not clear how good the machines and the riders will get in these three areas. there's going to be pro riders with their own unicycle model, and kuji is sort of that for the s18.
being fully invested in something like this is madness. there's this constant putting yourself at risk both bodily and financially as gear breaks more the harder you push it. but it's something separate from rationality that pushes someone to that sort of level. Rodney Mullen became this lighting rod and inventor of so many tricks, he progressed far beyond what most modern pro street skaters are capable of, and he did it 30 years ago. but he sees it as channels of progression, styles, and individual expression. There's great information about how some individual sport like this can evolve if you look at skateboarding.
    en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powell_Peralta
motocross too. but the gear in motocross is an even higher barrier than the gear for unicycling.
Yes there's some clear paths for progressing your video making but even at your skill level there's room to grow. It's expensive and dangerous but any adventure is like that. Life doesn't wait and no one will thank you for working the practical job for 25 years.
    The limits are constantly changing.
    keep rolling bud.

4:44 when you locked eyes with the rocks, in motorcycle riding they call that Object Fixation and it is a huge cause of motorcycle accidents.

Is the S18 cutting out on you due to over powering when off-roading? Does it's power limit it compared to the MSP or MSX?

For this trail, do you think you would be just as fast on the V11 or no?

    • @choochtech
      @choochtech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

on most stuff yes, but where I would fly past on the s18 is anywhere with rocks, the v11 snags even low rocks a good bit easier. Not a deal-breaker but noticeable for sure.

  • @danielerdofi9164
    @danielerdofi9164 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Would you be able to ride the same way on the same track with the Inmotion V11? Or for these trails the S18 is the one that can handle it better?

I wish I could've properly experienced the S18 suspension. Unfortunately mine died shortly after taking it out of the box, so I decided not to take any chances and just trade it in for a V11.

Everything you say is spot on. You have to do so many more calculations compared to MTB's as you only have one wheel. I did some blue and red runs with some MTB friends and I was shattered at the end of it. Keep them coming it make me want to get out and ride more.
