Would be nice to know but a lil voice deep down says he doesn't want to know. 1st owner & all. Honestly though, I'd be surprised if you can feel any difference riding (or at least thats what the voice wants you to say😇)
I had the problem with the jumping handle at my first ride. I mounted small velcro with sticky tape underneath. You need to grab a bit harder to pull it out, but it will not jump by itself. No more issues on 2000 km. I wish everybody safe and fun rides.
I’m happy to see you revisit this because I feel like many of the early S18 reviews were unjustified in their criticism. I’ve had mine since August and it’s been a flawless machine. I’m not a speed freak, so 30mph is more than enough for me to get around Minneapolis. Absolutely love it.
Hi Adam, you know what they say, it takes a big man... I'm glad you took another look at the S18. I got mine in a batch from December, and it's been perfect. I love this wheel. My knees and back thank me every time I ride it.
@@Cons2911 hi, I had the S18 for one year and put 2500 miles on it. It is a beautiful riding wheel. However, I would only get 40 to 45 miles range out of it and that is at 0% battery remaining so if you want a longer-range suspension wheel, the Hero is the best suspension wheel that's widely available right now, but the Master should be even better.

Initial manufacturing issues aside, the only reason I have not purchased the S18 is range, even though I have not ridden the S18 the design tells me it is a better suspension design. Hoping they will add more batteries 1800 WH would be acceptable in my mind.
I think the S18 is a great wheel for on-road riding, easy on bumps, my joints, etc. coming from a 14D. That's the main reason I got it. 14 miles on it today. Love your content!
The suspension design has a lot going for it. They seem to have spent most of their effort there. The side panels that feature tuck ins for your legs and feet is a nice touch. As a concept, I think the S18 beats the V11 hands down. However, if we get a S18-V2, that should reflect experience in the field and further refinement. As a manufacturer, King Song needed to find market acceptance before they bet the company on further research and development. I don't consider this design to be a tepid effort to test the idea of suspension wheels. The fact that we are nit picking things other than the suspension indicates that their first shot at this hit the target, not a bullseye yet, but when you are on the target, you now have a good idea of the corrections that need to be made.
I think you're spot-on in your summary: if you're not a speed demon and don't need the range, the S18 is a REALLY fun wheel. It's light and agile for an 18" wheel and decently zippy at lower speeds.
Nice of you to redo this review to give the S18 a fairer score, thank you! I had the privilege to try both S18 and V11 recently, and I much preferred the feel of the S18. It rides like other wheels, just smoother. The V11 was skyscraper-high, and felt tipsy on top, jiggling between my legs. A bit like the V10F. Didn't like it that much. I was also wondering why you revisited the V10F recently, with a few videos. What was the reason for that?
Hey, I noticed you are still using a jbl clip If you ever want to upgrade your sound system when on rides take a look at minirigs. They are bigger yes, but they can be attached to the rider just as easily. And they go loud, like way louder than even a jbl boombox 2. Even though they are expensive, they are worth every cent because of the performance you get. Their battery usually lasts me 2-4 days of regular use and can play for 7h at max volume. I want to clarify, I'm not affiliated with them whatsoever, I'm just helping a fellow rider out
Awesome redux review Adam! I agree with most of your quips on the less than stellar aspects of the S18 but man, everytime I climb on it, I turn into a super hero!!! I haven't done the rocky gnarly trails shown on your vid (yet) but I've come close. I've done jumps & stuff that I'd wouldn't even think of on any other wheel. Its now turned into my fav wheel of the stable so much so I've ordered a Duro HF307 (very similar the Sherm's) for it. It should arrive next month so I'll have it mounted for spring. Hopefully with no issues but thats what the Dremel & angle grinder are for🤪 PS: lov lovvvvv your intro where you rode the stone railing with the stairs on 1 side & a 20' drop on the other. Ballz I fully admit I don't have! & I had felt a heart murmur when you almost lost the V11 coming down on said stairs. It certainly won't be pretty if if the V11 took a tumble.
Can you make a episode talking about cut-off? You drove so many wheels, did you have any-issue with cut-off if you did not "tweak" wheel? What I mean, you left "beep" warning or tilt-back? Did any of your wheels cut-out during regular use?
Umm... so is this with the new batteries? Or the version before? Do the moleci batteries keep it from beeping a lot going up hills? I would love how that version compares and to hear it from an experienced rider! Thanks a lot Adam for your reviews!
I know this may not be as relevant, especially with the emegence of new wheels like the upcoming s16, but would you consider revisiting the molicel version of this wheel?
small battery can have massive handling and traction advantage during to the EUC's stupidly insane unsprung weight (handling and weight are the words which EUC makes doesn't understand, sadly majority users too), not everyone is riding 100 kilometers range every day, by the way I don't think anyone is riding that much but they still want that "more is good" feeling, that works on money bro, not on weight.
Hey wrong way. I recently bought an e scooter. I ordered a Bluetooth helmet and was thinking about more safety gear. Where did you buy your protective gear on your legs? And do they help protect skin on legs if you/ I have a fall?
What you describe at 15:54 is actually the exact opposite of what the S18 does. It Tilts backward, not forward like you demonstrated. What you demonstrated is what it makes you feel like. When the S18 tilts back it makes you feel like you're falling forward so you instinctively lean back to counter that feeling, and therefore you decelerate; hence the safety feature it is. If it tilted forward it would have the opposite affect and make you think you were falling backward and you would then lean forward to accelerate...which would be hazardous...
@@mr_wrongway OK, I never experienced tilt forward. I thought you just got confused when you were explaining it. I hope I continue to not experience it! (I have a 2nd batch now too...much, much smoother suspension than my original first batch).
