Did I hear that correctly... adjustable angle for the tilt cutt-off??? WOW. People in the community have been asking for that since... forever. Can it possibly be that one of the manufacturers is ACTIVELY listening to the community? Things like this, the ergo co-development with Kuji, and the pre-production feedback that turned into a laundry list of tweaks that they responded to and publisized in their production unit would point to... YES. That's huge.
Can you explain to newbie what is tilt cutoff and why would I adjust it? Tried to google it but haven't found "for dummies" explanation. Just ordered KS S18 btw 🥳
@@RussianCthulhu On all EUCs, there is an angle (side to side) at which the motor will cut-out. So that, in the event of a crash the wheel does not continue to free-spin on it's side or continue to propell itself along for potentially great distances in a wide arc. The problem here is, that with a model so well suited to off-road courses, you sometimes have an emabankment of dirt that you would like to traverse at high speed - which could bring the wheel into a nearly horizontal position, parallel to the ground. Classically, you would surely expeinece a cut-out in such a position. With this model, you can now adjust that cut-out angle to better accomodate such obstacles.
@@RussianCthulhu No problem man... It might seem like a trivial feature. But for people that like to off-road or trick ride, adjusting that angle is something they've wanted for a long time.

Great video once again Hsiang! It's amazing to watch the world of Euc unravel in front of us! I recon the combination of suspension and solid state batteries is where things are going to get real! The future is looking bright for our amazing Euc machines!

Another great review Hsiang! You're killing it at the moment!! Today my off-road trail speed is determined by my strength, condition, and technique. I have to slow down if I can’t maintain control over the bumps, and the lack of control is mostly due to lack of strength or condition, and every time I increase my condition or gain strength, I can ride faster in rougher terrain. Even though I can still get stronger and improve my condition, there is a limit to my strength and endurance, which means I’ll never be able to go silly fast over bumpy terrain. With suspension, I could go silly fast, and that worries me because I’m an idiot:) I enjoy the connection between my physical ability and the speed I’m able to achieve, the exercise I get, and the fact that I won’t be able to hurt myself too bad in the speeds I’m able to ride at. I will buy a wheel with suspension someday, but I hope this isn’t the end of none suspension wheels, because I want both.
I think suspension opens up a different level of chanllenges that can be tackled for everyone. if you're able to ride a blue mountain bike trail, now you can train to tackle a black trail where in it would have been impossible to do before. I am not quite sure if any one can ride full speed down a hard core mountain bike trail just yet, may be.

Better build quality with tougher shell, bluetooth speakers for music, a quality shock, brighter dual lights with high beams, better trolley handle. And passing Marty's OHH test.
I am curious about what KS is working on next, as much as I’d love to see an update, it probably makes more sense for them to refresh a different line, maybe a 14” suspension budget wheel?
@@OWGAC One idea might be for EUC manufacturers to work on battery packs that can easily swap out without requiring tools. Maybe like the batteries on a cordless drill. A cumbersome idea though, carrying a weight around. Would purchase next generation of S18 if they improve it. Duf has a livestream coming up with a KS tech guy as a guest. Great vid as usual Hsiang, thanks.
For me the smaller battery - hence lower weight is the biggest adventage of th KS18. Lifting the Z10 to get it on the train or lift up the stairs is a pain in the ear so I am rather looking towards something lighter. The only thing about the Inmotion though it is it brgight front light. Winter is approching and it will be a significant adventage for half of the year to know whete you are going when it gets dark early. If only there was a KS18 with brighter light... or Inmotion with smaller battery :)

Great job again bro. I don’t think I will even get a chance to ride the S18 since I missed the demo, but now I really want to more than ever LOL. I’m loving my V 11 but I still want to try the S18.
@@OWGAC How you liking that helmet with chin guard? Do you feel confident that it would hold up to faceplant on asphalt? I am worried it was really designed for snow which has a lot less friction than asphalt or cement. I really like how much ventilation that combination has but won't forego safety and already have a MIPs MTB full-face and SNELL/ECE rated full face motorcycle helmet.
I watch this video, I realize I need some kind of straps like a windsurfer to keep the pedals under my feet. Soft slip in slip out, not tight, but something. That's what we need, not kujipads... if I had some kind of footstrap, I could do jumps like no ones business. Off to the design shop! ( And, great review, and think you UNDERSOLD this is the BEST EUC FOR THE STREET because of better contact patch and safety. Sure you said it but look at the comments --- still say this is offroad wheel! )
No, just no, please, it has been discussed many times in euc community. If you are strapped to the wheel, you're gonna get REALLY hurt when falling (and everyone falls eventually). It's much safer to fall separately from the wheel.
like whats mentioned below, very bad idea to be clipped to your wheel. as to the on the road performances, the gap between the v11 and s18 is smaller there, s18 still have the edge but I am not quite sure if it would be signficantly better.
Another great video. That is good to hear about the lean angle but shame we have become so used to bigger batteries. Have you thought about what would happen to your head inside that helmet if you face plant. I have because I have face planted in a full faced helmet before. I distinctly remember my face smooshing up against the front guard. Which was fine because it was the usual type with a flat surface and some cushioning. To me that bar looks like it might add some unusual imprints while letting a hole lot pain come through unabated.
Thank you! Remember that the helmet is part of your larger safety strategy, its great to have more protection however at least for me, I am not willing to suffer any deficiencies when it comes to situation awareness, I rather be able to avoid a hit and to take a hit.
Great review! small battery , blabla YOU DO NOT buy this wheel for this, and thank you for reminding us that. Liked the bmw comparison ^^ Later wheels will have more battery and more speed, so people should stop complain, and just enjoy being the first to ride the new standards
To folks hating on the battery... I get it... but, for a unit designed for off-road, technical off-road at that... more weight (battery) equals less control. However... consider this... it is likely the first of many models based upon the new suspension system/design... in other words... instead of hating on the S18... might one just look forward to the S18XL???
@D Mark For some people, sure... but the V10 also has a lower top speed, narrower tire, and is much lighter... it's not going to get the same distance per WH on average as the V10 either.
I feel like the King Song S18 is still just a testbed for the suspension. Don't forget it's very cheap to build the S18. But the R&D is also added into the price. So the next one should be more high-end. I wonder if I will see some Veteran, V11, S18 at the protest in Den Haag tomorrow.
the whole EUC niche is like a giant test bed! we're the bleed edge of the bleeding edge and I am still waiting for a more main stream company to lean in and hit something out ofthe park!
@@OWGAC You mean a Apple, Samsung or Tesla EUC. Samsung has R&D for solid state batteries. So does Tesla. Tesla is in my town Tilburg. So if Tesla produces EUC...I hope it's in Tilburg.
We need you to talk to veteran, pull them "strings" and encourage them to copy S18 style suspension system for their next wheel, it seems like the only suspension that doesn't have exposed suspension rods under the foot plates.👍👍👍
Great review - many thanks 🙏. What was happening with all the road crashes I saw? Both the ass-plant (ouch! 😬) and face-plant (in front of the stall) looked like cut outs...were they?
Thanks for the video. You mentioned that you dropped the tire pressure from 35 to 25 PSI. Can you share your weight? I will adjust mine accordingly. Thanks again.
Hi Sean, another great video! Do you think if you were riding the S18 in the exact same spot and under the exact same conditions that you were riding the V11 when you crashed, do you think you would have crashed on the S18? In other words, do you think the S18 gave you more control than the V11 so much so that it would have prevented your crash? On a side note, that was wild seeing you ride with an umbrella in the rain, LOL
Remember that I have ridden over that exact manhole cover with the V11 previously with out any issue either, and have done so numerous time with the S18 since (its near my home) this is why I think there were other factors, if the tire indeed blew, then it wouldn’t matter what wheel I was on, I’d likely crash jus the same on the S18 also.
my recommendation would be to just get a solid use wheel to try. I have seen 80 yrs old guy riding one so I don't think there are any pre-requisite to be able to ride one.
A jeep with the styling of a Lamborghini. You have a great way with words. You're certainly selling me on the concept of suspension, but I'm not ready to buy this wheel. Do you think the V11 could endure that kind of punishment?
unfortunately I haven't had enough time with the V11 before crashing it, but since there are more moving parts on the outside I would guess that it isn't as durable. But I personally think that it isn't for application where you would want to push for speed or extreme riding conditions.
The wheel reviewed is not the same as the wheel being sold. See the mid-pivot point? Customer versions have a washer, and should not. That matters. At 5:19, you can see a suspension with washer. Must see this: forum.electricunicycle.org/topic/20746-s18-full-strip-down-suspension-overhaul-tire-upgrade-mods-and-rebuild-my-personal-comprehensive-account/
There are always small changes made from the demo wheel we review to the production version. the washer was a strange addition since it seem unnecessary and actually prevented the linkage from working properly.
@@OWGAC Yes, that addition is confusing for exactly that reason - it defeats smooth linkage operation. And it's there on wheels being sold in mid January, even after other improvements have been made. Why ???
I don’t really know very much about the EX, only what had been promised but with Gotway its is very hard to tell without at least having the demo to try.
well, I rode it in the down pour and now the wheel has a bit of a whine when I ride. it isn't rated but even if it is I wouldn't intentionally ride any EUCs in the rain if I can avoid it.
This or go cheaper? V11 is more expensive and heavier, I don't need that much range. I was aiming even cheaper so the s18 has more range than I originally plabbed
first one was from wheel wobble, and the second one was from overlean. both were regular Gotway rider and probably over did it a bit, most of the more experienced riders here havent had any issues with this wheel. some even are now comtemplating on getting one!
My capoeira man Hsiang back with another amazing waste of my time! I have 2 questions - 1. Did you find it easy to adapt your askew stance to the S18? 2. Besides range, are there any advantages the V11 has over the S18? I know you may not be able to answer that due to that unfortunate crash. Also, if you're interested, check out my off-roading fails and highlights th-cam.com/video/3WJ2LGjN6AU/w-d-xo.html :)
1. my ride style tends to cause more high speed wobble since I am not symetrical, but I have gotten use to it and knows how to dampen wobble when it happens. 2. v11 is more well rounded, better built quality and better light, kick stand and other convinience features.
Battery is too small for 2020 and for $2000. Overall I would go with monster pro EX has suspension, range, power, lights, speakers, seat, it has it all. S18 just too expensive for what you get. Deal breaker. $2000 for off road only. Get a dirt bike or 4 wheeler for that same price unlimited range.
Well, I am not sure. Yes the EX has a lot more battery but it is also $3200 and weight 86lbs, plus with that lower peg I am very skeptical that you’ll be able to really ride it off road. Also, I have to keep reminding ppl, having a suspension isn’t just about off road, it improves grip even if you are on smooth pavement, its like comparing a 4x4 to a 2 wheel drive!
Hsiang that is true but you have a monster so you have paid $3000 before. Also it’s really only $1000 but the specs compared to the s18 is three times more. 24 inch wheel. Three times the battery. Built in trolley handle so no need to worry about the weight. Also has a seat. Has the speed 3200w hollow motor the next generation in motors. Yes it’s more expensive but you are getting 3 to 4 times more in speed, power, range I think it might be worth it. Time will tell.
@@BOWBLADEGOD the point is the use case. The s18 seems to be designed with offroading in mind. My friends and I were in the woods yesterday for about 3 hours. I was on the 18xl. We had to worry about heat more than battery. I think we came out with 87% battery. The place where this wheel shines is not a place where you need a higher battery capacity. With the v11 and even ex, they feel like they're both gonna be road wheels with suspension, hence no real grip on the v11 and the low peg on the ex. The s18 feels like a, drive got he trail and ride for hours, type wheel as opposed to a comfortable street riding/fast street wheel with suspension. At least that's my take. Because whenever I ride offroad, my wheel never dies. I run out of energy or light far before then.
Seage Speaks you maybe right but for $2000 I think msp is still better. Just need to keep ur knees bent and it did overheat hill no problem so it’s an off-road wheel as well
its all relative, once you get use to sherman speed, that 31mph cap feels a bit lacking. but now that I have been riding it straight for a few weeks it doesn't seem so bad anymore..

No, just no, please, it has been discussed many times in euc community. If you are strapped to the wheel, you're gonna get REALLY hurt when falling (and everyone falls eventually). It's much safer to fall separately from the wheel.
@@DiveTheseClips I've already fallen, I've already broken bones, thanks for your advice.
like whats mentioned below, very bad idea to be clipped to your wheel. as to the on the road performances, the gap between the v11 and s18 is smaller there, s18 still have the edge but I am not quite sure if it would be signficantly better.
Make a really good point about the looks of the S18 vs Sherman. Hell, even the name of the Sherman is misleading.
its unfortunate since otherwise it is a great wheel!
@Andrew It was an abrupt fall from DH mountain biking at high speed. Hands and arms aren't always enough.
Great review! small battery , blabla YOU DO NOT buy this wheel for this, and thank you for reminding us that. Liked the bmw comparison ^^
Later wheels will have more battery and more speed, so people should stop complain, and just enjoy being the first to ride the new standards
More battery also translate to more weight, the Gotway EX have way more battery which is great, but 86lbs...
@@OWGAC yeah way too heavy, but hopefull in a few yeras, new cells ? lighter batteries ? who knows
So it's a novelty wheel then...
Pretty much this, I am not quite sure if the trade off of more range is worth the greater weight either.
Great review👍
Cheers
thank you!!
@@OWGAC
You mean a Apple, Samsung or Tesla EUC.
LOL I would love to, but they seen to be pretty secretive about their developments.
Great review - many thanks 🙏. What was happening with all the road crashes I saw? Both the ass-plant (ouch! 😬) and face-plant (in front of the stall) looked like cut outs...were they?
Which is the best bang for the buck suspension EUC, V11 or S-18?
you want mercedes (V11) or BMW(S18)? all depends on what you like!
Damn that thing looks like it was thrown in a sandblaster....
LOL you were part of the sand!
good this euc is just good at throwing🤣
Hsiang: This is one of the worse cobblestone streets.
Cobblestone streets in Europe:
have you been in europe? of course there are..... and there are many
@@erCostinha I was born and live in europe.
The joke was that every european cobblestone road is much worse then that one! :D
Oh I spend some time in Italy and that particular block is pretty world class as to how bad it is LOL
@@OWGAC Wow! Thats seems legendary even for US. :D
And, any news about the V11 crash and cause of the tyre ripping? Thanks.
No news so far unfortunately, it’ll probably take some time since inmotion is still doing a lot of catch up just filling demands for the wheel.
@@OWGAC ok, thanks for the reply.
You are flying on that wheel.
And the S18 is probably the slowest of the batch of new wheels!
Would u buy king or v11? Cheers, great video.
Yes but you really liked the Z10😂 so how can we be sure. Lolz 😄😄😄
@@OWGAC I hear you, believe me, I don't miss those NYC streets. Thanks again for the video and all that you do.
Where is that trail you're riding on @10:25? Up in Westchester??
that was forest park in queens!
what preparations do i need before considering buying a unicycle? balance? physical?
my recommendation would be to just get a solid use wheel to try. I have seen 80 yrs old guy riding one so I don't think there are any pre-requisite to be able to ride one.
Very helpful review and insights. Hope you can send one. Lol
thank you!
When you glance at the screen at 3:37 😂
LOL stare at the lens; stare at the lens!
A jeep with the styling of a Lamborghini. You have a great way with words.
You're certainly selling me on the concept of suspension, but I'm not ready to buy this wheel.
Do you think the V11 could endure that kind of punishment?
Also, I like riding with power pads. It looks like this wouldn't accommodate them.
unfortunately I haven't had enough time with the V11 before crashing it, but since there are more moving parts on the outside I would guess that it isn't as durable. But I personally think that it isn't for application where you would want to push for speed or extreme riding conditions.
So 16X or 18S?
So where did you settle on the rebound dial? Somewhere near the middle (15), or toward one of the extremes?
all together I have 40 clicks and I am right in the middle right now, but I feel like i need to play with it some more!
Why ???
04:15 oohhhhhhh! Scary stuff there. Almost hit the car.
Yea, there’s a good bit of room and honestly the wheel is very unlikely to do any damage to a car.
This remind me to always wear gloves and wrist guards
Would this be a good wheel to start with?
Talk about gotway ex with suspension i wanne buy one with suspension almost dit buy v 11 but know I don’t know
I don’t really know very much about the EX, only what had been promised but with Gotway its is very hard to tell without at least having the demo to try.
What caused that epic fall backwards? I can't imagine that projectile hitting a car or a person...
That was a cutout I think
@@OWGAC I'm about to pull the trigger on one but that was a little concerning. Were you just pushing the wheel too hard? Low battery?
What’s the back bag you wear?
check out the video description for my gears!
What about castom water resistance?
well, I rode it in the down pour and now the wheel has a bit of a whine when I ride. it isn't rated but even if it is I wouldn't intentionally ride any EUCs in the rain if I can avoid it.
What caused the crash? Glad that you and the wheel are OK.
Oh that wasn't me that crashed, I think one was overlean and the other was highspeed wobble.
@@OWGAC it's a shame that both these things can exist below 30mph. But I imagine for most people these things won't occur after some practice time :)
Is Bluetooth enabled for your helmet?
What? Nope I don’t listen to music when I ride, I find it distracting.
I want one, want one, want one :-)
oh its very nice! =D
Try going over the same manhole you went over with the v11✌🏽
I have, multiple times, its near my home so I hit it regularly.
This or go cheaper? V11 is more expensive and heavier, I don't need that much range. I was aiming even cheaper so the s18 has more range than I originally plabbed
What caused the crashes @ 4:15 and 11:18 ? That's most concerning to me.
Over lean cut out. Kingsongs can cut out when pushed too hard.
first one was from wheel wobble, and the second one was from overlean. both were regular Gotway rider and probably over did it a bit, most of the more experienced riders here havent had any issues with this wheel. some even are now comtemplating on getting one!
@@OWGAC Thanks for explaining
1100wh battery is what stopped me!
well, I am working on a range test next so you can see exactly how long that 1100wh can take you!
Even Hsiang prefers them thicc...😏
LOL
Nice
Thank you!
Just need to keep ur knees bent and it did overheat hill no problem so it’s an off-road wheel as well
Not everyone wants a heavy wheel to cruise all day on. Some prefer a lighter agile wheel to have fun with for a couple hours and then go home.
Is that Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet?!?!?
what do you mean??
a 4th "C" its "COOL"
LOL I don't want to be presumptious as everyone have different idea about what's cool!

@@OWGAC Great video like always Hsiang.

I tried but had been unsucessful so far =D
Bro u think 31mph is fast🤪...but yeh relatively 😉
its all relative, once you get use to sherman speed, that 31mph cap feels a bit lacking. but now that I have been riding it straight for a few weeks it doesn't seem so bad anymore..
@@OWGAC I was actually saying to go over the same manhole because you did so with the V11 So that you can get a feel of the difference between the King song S18 and the V11
@@OWGAC sorry *I* meant I think 31 mph is fast
I #you lol
Thank you??
Why do you crash everything in street traffic? This is pretty dangerous and irresponsible imo.
That wasn't him crashing, different rider, same wheel. The Pre production models get passed around like your most attractive relative.
that seem like the perfect place to crash it, minimal risk to pedestrian or bicyclist and the most damage you can do maybe denting a panel on a car.
Suspension jesus will not protect u against shitty bike riders
Too many ads. Unsubscribe! 🤣

Very poor manufacturing quality.
well, all things being relative I guess, I'd say that KS' QC is at least better than Gotway's
