L1 Congenital Posterior Hemi Vertebra Kyphosis Deformity Correction Spine Surgery

L1 Congenital Posterior Hemi Vertebra in Adult
37 yrs professional male came in with progressive deterioration of gait, urinary dysfunction, Left foot drop and gross Left Leg muscle wasting.
After a comprehensive clinical and radiological examination, he was diagnosed to have L1 Congenital Posterior Hemi Vertebra with cord/conus myelomalacia. Detailed surgical consent and counseling was given to him and family.
Orthopaedic Spine Surgery :
Excision of L1 Posterior Hemi Vertebra and Kyphosis Deformity Correction Spine Surgery was performed with the aim to decompress the cord, achieve sagittal alignment and eventual fusion. IONM was used intraoperatively.
He was mobilised the next day after surgery and was discharged within 72 hrs following his surgery.
