I always use safety eyes However after I stick my eyes in I add a tab of e6000 glue on the back before I add the back. Double protection 😊 and trust me you can not! Get them out if you tried. ❤ love your work
I love the no sew Axolotl by CrochetByGenna. Super easy to follow and only took me about 30 minutes to make with reading it for the first time and being a relatively slow crocheter
I’d love to see a sea turtle pattern roundup! They’re mostly so similar but I can’t find one I’m totally happy with… I always feel like the heads are massive 😂
All from jade on Etsy has the best in my opinion
It’s crazy how many there are. I have a couple on my list to try. But I do love AllFromJades Tiana pattern, especially with the half moon fins!
CrochetbyGenna has a nice turtle pattern in several sizes.
Loved your reviews! What a great idea for a video. I would love you to continue! Turtles & bees would be great choices next.
Turtles are next! I’m working on them now. Thanks so much for watching!
Blush anxiety lol. We need to be friends seriously! Yes, I loved your video. Thank you for your video
Blush anxiety support group? Lol, cause I would love that!
The pattern that you liked but didn't like I purchased and made the smaller one. The seller was really willing to help me when I struggled with legs. Sometimes its hard to see stitches when using chunky yarn. She did another video with smaller yarn. I found, for me, it was easy to sports in same way the horns were attached. I just didn't do well making it look right fitting into as shown.
This series is Everything I have ever wanted in content , thank you 🥹🥰
You made my week! Turtles are coming up next, and I’m so excited!!
Way too much fun!!! I'm making one now.
Ohhh, which one? Hope it turned out for you!
What a great video!! Not all heroes wear capes my friend!! I will definitely be trying a few of these. I am not a fan of blush at all! Unless there isn’t any other detail I skip it (and sometimes even then). I feel like it is too close to the eyes mostly. If it is called ‘blush’ then it should be on the cheek. I have placed little x’s for blush on the cheeks and liked it. Try placing it differently and see what you think. Honestly though, skipping it is fine too! 🥰
Thank you!!! I skip it so often too! I’ll play around with the placement and see what happens. Thanks so much for the feedback! ❤️
What a nice array of axolotl patterns. So many to choose from. I never add blush, to hard for me😂 Thank you for the review on them all.
Too hard for me too 😂😂
Thanks so much for watching!!
I will surely try the tiny baby axolotl. So cute 🥰
It is so stinking adorable!! Thanks for watching!
I love this idea! There are SO MANY patterns out there of the same animal. I always have a hard time picking which ones to make haha I appreciate the honest opinion on all of these! I can't wait to see what other animals you do 😊
So fun! I loved seeing all the different axolotls 🤩 So many different ones. The teeny ones that made your top choice are very cute - you could almost turn them into an ornament with a little string ☺️
They would be so cute as ornaments!!
So hard to pick my favorite. I guess I will work them up and see what shakes out. Lol.
❤ I loved the big blue bernet yarn one! Good video!
So fun karen! I love that you do this. I’m sure this is very helpful for others so they know if they are good patterns or not! I love the tiny ones. They are adorable!
Thanks so much Kami!!
From another big handed lady, I feel your pain 🥰😂. I loved the dark yellow and dark blue one you found too complicated as the body shape was nice and the feet but being a newer crocheter I probably won’t try it. I am sold on the pink one that was so soft to touch and the last one that was your favourite. Thanks for testing patterns for us!
Lots of people are advocating for that one! I might need to try it a few more times. And welcome to the big hand crochet club 😂😂
Would love to know which hooks you like?
I’m so glad you made this video. I’ve made 3 or 4 different axolotl patterns as well trying to figure out which one I like best. Crochet grove was the easiest for me but wasn’t sure if it would sell the best. I’m hoping it will. Doing my second market tomorrow. Glad you liked it best too.
Just finished a market, and honestly, every single one sold! I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks so much for watching!
I love this! So many choices and so many variables to make them worth making. Thank you for sharing your thoughts x
Thanks for watching!! I really love making these videos! 🥰
Love this pattern roundup. Great job. 😊
Yes!! My blush always looks super silly. I will not do blush lol
Thank goodness I’m not the only one! Thanks for watching!
Little lady, I thought I was subscribe to your channel, as soon as I saw I wasn't, I subscribed immediately!! I love watching your videos! Now, I'm going to have to watch your videos tomorrow and let the ads play, but as a new subscriber! 💕🤗💕🤗
Ok, first. Thank you for calling me little lady! Lol, it made me smile ❤️
And thank you so much for watching and subscribing. It means so much to me ❤️
Very enjoyable! Thanks for doing this, yes frogs next!🧶
Thanks so much!!
These are cute. I make a lot of amis and have never made an axolotl. I might have to try one of those. Thank you.
Thanks so much for watching! Would love to know how they turn out for you!
Your work is fantastic and you are not alone on the blush. I haven't even tried the blush because trying to add a mouth or smile went south. So I have stuck just to adding Safety Eyes and left it at that.🤣🤣
The struggle is real! I’ve finally gotten more comfortable with embroidering eyess and mouths but oftentimes I have to make 2-3 attempts 🤦🏻♀️
Keep practicing, it does get easier!! As for the blush, I think that might be a life long problem 😂😂
So cute
Thank you!!
Thanks for the review and the pattern recommendations. I have not made any of this type of plushie. Not even sure what an axolotol is or why they are so popular. They feel odd to me but that's probably because I'm older and out of touch with what the young folks like. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make with the Premiere Glitz yarn that you bought. I'm assuming that you're making something with them for your holiday markets coming up. I bought a bunch of glitz and pom yarn after watching your haul video. I'm just trying to figure out what pattern to make with them. They are such fun yarns and I want to make some holiday gifts with them. Let me know if you found any fun patterns to use them with. Looking forward to seeing your next markets and all the fun stuff you've been working on. Have a blessed Thanksgiving this week!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Honestly, I had no idea axolotls existed until I started making amigurumi! I’ll update on the glitz yarn soon. It’s so much softer than I expected it to be with all that sparkle!
Thank you so much for the effort you do for us ❤ your Awesome 🎉
Thank you so much for saying that! I really do enjoy it, and it makes me so happy that other people are interested!!
I’m such a visual learner that I constantly search for video tutorials. I’m going to try a pattern pdf tho. And I’m not a beginner but it’s just easier to watch and listen. Oh! The blush looks good.
I definitely preferred tutorials for awhile! Especially the first time I make something!! Now I like to have a show on while I reference a pattern. Thank you so much for watching!!
love your videos. I made last pattern with the blush. I added mouth which makes a huge difference and blush looks way better then. Also I used the body for other animals and super heros.
I might try adding a mouth on before I take it to a market! Thanks!!
i will try your favourite pattern. I've never made one, i'll see how it will turn out. Nice video like always, and btw i struggle with the placement of the eyes and blush too but yours looks fine to me :)
Thanks for saying that! It’s so hard to get the placement just right 😂
Let me know how you like the pattern!!
I have used VERY few patterns I didn't end up adapting or altering in some way, however small. Type of yarn, hook size, and tension all play a role so patterns can definitely get wonky. I love how thorough you were in deciding which were worth your time though
Same! Do you write patterns at all? Pretty sure I’m just going to have to make my own pattern for some of my favorites 😂
Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate the feedback!!
@YarnandWhimsyDesigns I rarely write a new pattern from scratch, but I have many modifications written with original elements. I'm still fairly new to amigurumi, despite years of general crochet experience.
I love the Etsy pattern by Melanie au! It gets much faster after making them several times. I do ignore the ch 1 instruction and I just adjust the rounds to make everything work correctly. But they are always on my market list 😊
I’m going to be playing with that pattern again for my spring markets’. Thanks so much for watching ❤️
This is such a great video idea! I love it 😍😍
Thank you so much! ❤️
I would love to see a turtle round up!!!!!😊❤
Working on turtles right now! Let me know if you want a specific pattern included!
So happy to have found your channel. I would love to see a review on bears and dogs. Post more frequently. :)
I love bears and dogs too! I’ll put it on the list!
I use the 3rd pattern. I do it in the round and I wait to put in the eyes until I have the front legs. I struggled my first few try’s!
The shape is really so nice on that one, right? You’ve all convinced me to revisit it!
You should check out momsstitchetti’s pattern! As for blush, I never do blush. lol
I’ve been doing her cow pattern, I’ll definitely look for the axolotl, thanks for the recommendation!!
I sooo agree about the blush. Mine always looks wonky. Would love some tips on how to fix it😊
Same!! I’m going to play around with it!
i often super glue eyes in, either with or without thebacking. even if it is just glue I haven't had issues with them coming out, but i haven't tried with all my strength (i havent tried with all my strength with just the backings either). There has beena few times i can pull the eyes (with the backing still on) out because I misplaced it then I just glued the eyes back in.
Yes! I’ve pulled the eyes out after the fact before when I wasn’t happy with placement! I tried melting the post a little, but I don’t love doing that, for lots of reasons. Thanks for the input! I’m going to do some tests with E6000 and super glue!
I love your videos. I know you haven’t been crocheting for very long so I commend you for your progress. I did want to help you out on one thing. The pattern you say was slip stitch and chain you said was written in rows. That is not right. Rows are worked back and forth. Any pattern that is worked in a continuous direction without a turning direction is a round. Some designers write their pattern with a slip stitch and chain 1 because it is more easy for a beginner to see the round start and stop. Keep making awesome videos! I have been crocheting for years and years. Need help ever please let me know and I would love to help or give you more information.
Thank you so much! I can’t believe it hasn’t even been a year yet. I have so much to learn! Thanks so much for reaching out. I really appreciate it!
Just bought the baby axolotl one , I use makeup blush
I’m going to have to play around with that! Thanks for the suggestion
@@YarnandWhimsyDesigns that’s ok
The tiny baby azolotl is everything 💕
He’s so tiny!! Thanks Jackie!
Mats crochet creations so my fave one to make
I really like that one too!
You should do mushrooms and frogs
Putting them on the list, mushrooms are a great idea!
I only have one crochet pattern for these is from crochet by genna and I hate how she has the fins written,, I had to tweek it into a way for me to make sense of it,,,, I will have to try some of these!!
I’ve actually made that pattern, this video just got too long so it didn’t make it in. I agree, the fins were the most challenging part of that pattern!
Blush anxiety! hahaha
It’s real! 😂😂
As far as more axolotls for a part 2, Genna's axolotl pattern and Alyssa G's little axolotl pattern that she has a youtube video for! Alyssa's is what I use for keychain axolotls so I would love to hear what you think about that compared to the Axolittle!
I agree with other commenters, frogs and mushrooms would be great for pattern roundups, so many to choose from!
I really want to try Alyssa’s!
What was the verdict with the Madeline May pattern that had the different look? You weren't sure how it would go at markets?
Could we do a dino round up?? I'm in desperate need of a good chunky dino pattern
I have little kids and I’d never ever just glue eyes in. I put e6000 on the back of all my safety eyes no matter what and if it’s for a small child I just do felt or crochet eyes! Not worth the worry and id never want to sell something unsafe. There’s my strong opinion 😅
I’ve been embroidering and crocheting eyes more and more! I’m curious, do you just add a little E6000 to the eye post and push it in? And it stays well? Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it! ❤️
I had no idea there were so many patterns for one little guy- mari
Oh my goodness Mari, it’s like an endless list!
So I frequently use the 3rd? axolotl pattern (the gold one). I always work in the round on those. I use Himalaya Dolphin Baby yarn and 4.0mm it takes me about 45 minutes. And I sell them at markets like hot cakes
I should probably give it another try! Thanks for sharing how you make it. It’s going back on my make list!
I did make a lot of notes the first time so i think it does help to adjust it to your liking a little and just breaking down the annoying parts
Opossum round up
Octo round up
YES! I love the opossums so much. Thanks!
Justice for us with big hands! I wear a size 10 ring and L/XL glove. Small things HURT my hands
Yes!!! Welcome to the big hand club. We need support group! 😂😂
you can do no wrong. chunky aint bad. so many axolotls so little time.
You’re the absolute best!
Do u have a pattern for the care bear mama
I do!! I would love to know if you decide to make it!
stringydingding.com/happy-bears-amigurumi-free-crochet-patterns/
@YarnandWhimsyDesigns thank you mama and I will let u know
Very serious question, no disrespect intended: What the heck IS an axolotl? I've been around the block many times (I'm old, okay?) and I have never heard of such a thing. Is it a mythical creature, like a mermaid? Fantasy? I'm confused...
It’s actually real , it’s an aquatic animal
An axolotl, or Ambystoma mexicanum, is a type of salamander. It is very real and super cute. It isn’t new, but just now started getting traction for some reason. If you Google it, you will see how cute they are.
They became super popular when video game Mine Craft was introduced.
@@kathleenanderson2990 That makes sense!!!
Thank you all. I figured just another internet hoax.
You forgot Wai crochet axolotls ;)
I have to do that one, right? I’m on it!!
Where are you? I miss you! Are you Ok?
