That's the England l miss having lived in Italy for 58 years. The villages, and the thatched cottages, thank you so much for sharing your video 👍👏❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧😉
Thank you. We used a GoPro Hero 11 for this one. Good for pictures but not so good for sound. Using the media mod has made it a little better but still picks up the slightest wind. Thanks for being a regular viewer 👍
In the UK giving a name to your home is a tradition that dates back hundreds of years. It started with the upper class with the name of a manor or estate being taken after the person who owns it. Also, the numbering system was introduced in 1765 so previous to that, house names were given to identify the property. This has continued mainly in towns and villages and a house name can be officially registered with the Royal Mail. In cities, some houses have names as well as numbers but the property is normally identified by the number in a city. Thanks for your interesting question!
Generally, thatched roofs are made from one of three types of materials; either water reed, combed wheat reed or straw. Reed tends to be the most durable material and reed thatched roofs have a lifespan of 25-40 years. Thank you for watching and for the interesting question :)
