I've had my 2017 Mazda 6 GT since February. All I'll say is that this is the only car I've ever had where someone next to me took out their phone to take a picture of it.
Mazda are punching above their weight with the Mazda 6. Even the president of Toyota, Akio Toyoda said that Mazda are a few laps ahead in some regards. With the Mazda 6, it appears you can have amazing looks, better handling and a far superior interior. The main reason I drive a Mazda is that it offers all this with similar reliability to Toyota. After all most of their cars are made in Japan which is a huge bonus. As I'm sure you can tell I would pick the Mazda 6 over the Toyota Camry any day. Long live Mazda!
Did you see the 2018 Camry , it has quad tail pipes . They have to be joking :) . Do they think it's going to trick people into thinking it can keep up with a Kia Stinger GT :)
The engine lets it down though . It is a shame as it's quite a nice car but i just can't buy a car with so little power for that size body. It's the same engine in the Mazda 3 which is just pathetic.
Yeah i know but if you were looking at a 6 you wouldn't buy a low end 3 anyway. My point was the 6 should have at least the option of a 6 or a turbo 4.
which would catapult the price, might as well buy a luxury vehicle. Mazda knows very well, what they are doing, they are offering the luxury like experience at an affordable price for the average joe, the only way to do this is by sacrificing power, there is no way around it, if they were to add a v6 that makes 300hp like the luxury brands, it would send the price to the stratosphere, might as well get a infinity q50 then
DEVILTAZ35 some guy said he had a v6 Toyota camry but when he has driven the Mazda 6 he was astonished on how much more fun it is to drive than the v6 camry.
Ya, I just looked at a CPO 6GT yesterday, red with parchment interior. It really crushes just about any car in its price range in terms of looks and interior quality. The exterior styling is also head and shoulders above the rest. The interior suffers a bit in size, but there's no other car like it. I just wish Mazda's new 2.5T from the simply stunning new CX-9 were an option in the 6GT. the extra 65hp would make for a truly impressive sports sedan that has real near-luxo chops to beat the lower-end BMWs and Audis.
We bought a 2017 Mazda 6 for our 20 year old and the entire family loves it. She wanted an Audi which I was totally against!! She actually likes it better than the Audi now lol The luxury feel of the cabin, along with the handle of this car, is amazing!!! Especially when it’s put in Sport mode. Because the car is a few years old, we were able to pay cash for it, which is what we try and do with all of our cars. Your review was spot on!! She doesn’t have a family, so the feel of the Camry was entirely too boring for her. Especially since she learned to drive in a sports sedan (Infiniti G35).

I looked at both a 2 year old 2015 Accord Sport 6MT and a 2015 Mazda 6 Sport 6MT and the Mazda 6 had less miles, was better equipped, better looking, and cost $3000 less than the Accord so I went with the 6.
Pierre Manucci wrong, the 2.2 liter diesel is twin turbo (skyactiv d). 2019 I think is the release of the skyactiv x which can make a 2.0l consume like a 1.5 but with a power of a 2.5. It also has a supercharger
Dear Redline Reviewer, While you had your preferences [some might say, 'bias'], you were still able to point out specific details of each model. Well done. That's hard to do! You served up honest descriptions of the features and benefits/shortcomings of each vehicle. Well done! I made a choice to buy a Camry XSE, 4-banger. Your descriptions about the vehicle helped identify my preferences. I hope I made the right decision! BTW: I'm not into extra engine noise, 'cramped quarters' nor 'harsh ride' that comes with a 'sportier ride'. So, thank you very much!
I might have bought a Toyota based on this video, I liked quite, I liked smooth spacious rides. I'm so glad I got a 6 before seeing this video. I LOVE my 6. Also you didn't mention GVC, it's new for 2017, and it basically drives the car for you.
I bought a 2017 Camry SE because of timing and cost issues. It comes as advertised, easy to live with and simple cabin and control design. Didn't have a lot of time to look for a 6 but it was the pricier option as I wanted at least the Touring trim. Imo the 6 is hands down the better looking vehicle outside and inside. I plan on eventually switching to the 6 when finances are better. Better MPG is a plus too.
I love my Mazda 6 GT. It's a 2014 with 110K miles on it, and she drives every bit as sporty today as she did when brand new. My goal was a fun to drive fuel efficient commuter car, and this Mazda 6 GT fit the bill. The interior has held up very well. With no wear evident though out. The engine is adequate (I'd love more power, but will take the fuel economy instead). I was a couple of years too early to get the LED head lights, but my HIDs work just fine. I also have the first gen head unit, which was a problem with we Mazda 6 owners, but I've gotten used to it. The new 2017 one is much improved.
Without even watching the video I have my opinion made up. The Mazda 6 is way better looking especially in the back and has a much nicer, albeit cozier, interior. It also handles better and gets better real world MPGs. I've rented new Camry SE's and the interiors were cheapo and missing a lot in the audio system. Yes , the Camry offers a little more room and optional V6, but hardly anyone buys the V6 Camry and you can tell that by going to your local dealer and will likely find 1 or 2, the rest are 4cyl or hybrid. I've had a new Mazda 6 as a loaner and the engine is plenty adequate for 95% of driving duties and returned mid 30s mpgs. The Camry's I rent don't seem to do as well. I'd take the 6.
The Mazda 6 gets my nod over the Camry in this comparison but go for the Hybrid or V6 and the Camry takes it back. Yes the 6 handles better but you won't go corner carving in a family sedan. However I'm not sure if Mazda can keep the lead after the 2018 Camry arrives. It also promises rear multilink setup, a first ever for a Camry. With more competitive powertrains coming & better looks, the boring Camry is going to be pretty interesting.
Bikash Gautam A type of independent rear suspension which offers good wheel articulation & handling. Almost all European sport sedans employ some sort of multilink suspension at the rear. All prior generation Camrys used struts for rear axles, which gave a cushy ride but robs handling & feel from the driver.
I love how people are comparing the 2017 Mazda 6 to a 2018 Camry that's not even out yet. Why don't you see what Mazda does with the 2018 6 and then compare the two? Comparing separate year models is not a comparison.
But both cars look like no effort went into designing it at all. I know its not luxurious, but they could have at least updated its interior to match the direction of most cars.
djantonio72 does the 6sp manual have a sports mode?(longer shifts maybe taken care off by manual transmission but would sports mode change change suspension settings)
Own a 2015 Mazda 6 GS and going in for an upgrade to another Mazda 6....2 critical key elements in my decision to upgrade to another Mazda 6....firstly it is a rare car to be spotted on the road unlike Camry's and Accord's (Mazda 6's don't sell a lot but that's not necessarily a disadvantage...the advantage is that it sets them apart from the crowd) secondly the ride and the handling are way better....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAZDA
derrik tie Based on what? You're like most people: perpetuating the stereotype even if it's no longer relevant. Sure, in 1990 you could make such a claim and be generally correct, but not in 2017. Nearly ALL cars have achieved a level of reliability unheard of 20 years ago. Mazda makes excellent, reliable cars (I owned the first gen Mazda 3 for a decade), and they drive better than anything in their class. If it's faultless reliability you're after but still want to have some spirit in your drive, might I suggest the Honda Accord?
derrik tie I bought my Mazda in 07 and still looks brand new...I get lots of compliments, even from the dealer! 10 years and still going! So it's definitely not bullshit
derrik tie Derrik doesn't haven't any real facts to back up his claims. He apparently just has some sort of weird Camry fetish. Of all the cars in the world to defend, he picks the Camry? Strange...
Most people use a car like they use any other appliances such as a washing machine - to get the job done. That is why Toyota has been able to sell so many Camry's. But that, to me, is like eating cake without frosting or any decorations. There's got to be more to life than just functional survival. For that, I thank Mazda for giving zest to life but at a price point most can afford.
Great comparison review, Sofyan! Both the Mazda6 and the Camry seem like pretty neat entries in the sedan segment! 👌 I review cars, too and both vehicles seem like great entries! The Mazda6 seems like more of the sophisticated and mature entry. While, the Camry comes across as more of a mundane vehicle, but a appears to be a great everyday small family hauler! The Mazda6 really offers the most style in my opinion, and offers the most sporty feel! Fuel economy is also better in the Mazda6, but it seems more of a "sporty" sedan which isn't what most people want in this segment (like you mentioned)! The Camry is also a fair entry, as well! Offering a very spacious cabin, and what seems to be more of a tamed driving experience. For most people the Camry may be the perfect car, but material quality, attention to detail, and exterior styling are all sort of getting long in the tooth! Personally, I would pick the Mazda6, too! Keep up the great work, Redline Reviews team! I am looking forward to many more awesome review in the near future! You are one of my true idols, Sofyan! 😉👊 -DriveAndBeDriven 🚘 "The Quest To Record The Best!" 📽
@@thirtycascade4915 I agree, the mazda has repeated the body style for a decade with very minor changes...and people rave about the "styling"...I don't hate the car,but my-god it's hardly the car that makes you do a double-take.
nice comparison! mazda often doesnt get the credit they deserve. if they keep building cars and suvs like they are doing now, toyota and honda better watch out.
I'm a Toyota truck fan, but every time I'm at the dealership for my free oil change, I get into a Camry and the Avalon, and neither is comfortable, and both are dull and boring. I'm sure they're reliable, but both are uninspiring. Give me the Mazda with a six speed transmission and nice interior and handling.
I wish you would mention some other pros and cons about these cars such as: -the Camry and Accord have higher discounts (which means a lower price), higher resale values, and more dealerships than Mazda. -The Mazda6 has the best 6-speed automatic with convertor lock-up at a low 5mph and quick downshifts of the mid-size sedans. -Mazda offers LED headlights on their mid-trim level vs others at only the high trim levels. -The Mazda6 trunk size is a little smaller (because the hinges are covered from crushing your cargo) but the trunk access hole is much larger and useful than the Camry or Accord -Over 80% of the mid-size sedan buyers choose a 4-cyclinder, so not having a V6 is not that important to a small auto company with limited resources and small dealerships. -Mazda6s have exhaust headers near the firewall that make it noisier than Camry or Honda which have their exhaust manifold facing the front of the car. Having the exhaust header in back allows them to provide a full splash guard with better aerodynamics under the engine. -Mazda6's front splitter is high enough so it does not crash into most cement parking bumpers. -Mazda6's large outside mirrors, lower seating, and closer distant to the driver's eyes blocks side visibility of cross traffic and pedestrians more than many other mid-size sedans. -the 2017 Mazda6 added an engine temperature gauge which the 2016 model should have had instead of a warning light.
I've noticed that with my Camry as well that it has a nice bit of torque off the line. It's thrown me back in my seat a few times. My last car was a Galant and I could gradually lean into the throttle and take off nice and smooth but with the Camry it just has a lot of power in first gear. Since neither car offers Android Auto/Apple Car Play I'd pick the Camry because at least with that car you can replace the head unit with an aftermarket double din that has those features unlike with the Mazda where you can't replace it.
I have 2014 Camry that I’ve been using for 4 years as a driver’s Ed car. It’s reliable and havent had too many issues. It’s just boring af. I had a 2014 Mazda 6 which was more fun to drive, more features, looked better inside and out. Got totaled and Updated to a 2018 6.
Great review! I have a soft spot for both of these cars. But I'm simple, I like the Camry as it's reliable. I have a 2013 Camry SE with 108k trouble-free miles. It's simple, still looks good and has been reliable. Can't beat that! Mazda is a good car, but it's just not for everyone. Great review!
i think having a Mazda would be a much better option because everywhere you go there's a Camry everywhere. I like having a different car than everyone else so the 6 would take my plate
Personally opinion, I pick the Camry over the 6 cuz I want more relaxed driving. It’s more easy over the bump and I don’t have to put more force when turning.its the way Toyota and Lexus doing and I’m sold for that.
As an enthusiast that just finished shopping in this segment, I enjoy driving my 17' XSE V6 Camry. Stock for stock the Mazda is definitely sportier. However a tire swap really transforms the cars grip and fun factor. The V6 is miles more refined and more powerful than BOTH 2.5L engines and that's what made the deal for us in our purchase decision. Feel free to check out my personal review of my V6 XSE on my channel, and I go into more detail but the Mazda really left me hanging. Great chassis but under powered. If only comparing 4 cylinder options then I agree with your conclusion but the V6 adds another level of complexity and ultimately leaned me toward the Camry when I never thought I'd own one.
I still love my black on black 2015 Camry XSE V6 that I bought new 2 years ago & my mom drives a 2017 Camry XLE 4-cylinder which I recommended to her & she loves it very much as well! I agree that the interior feels higher quality in the Mazda (I sat in every family sedan at the previous L.A. Auto Show), but still nice enough in the Camry. The Mazda would be much more appealing to me if it offered an awesome V6 like in my Camry, which is definitely my favorite thing about the car. I still prefer the Camry over the Mazda, but the Mazda has always been one of the best looking family sedans in my eyes including the previous generations.
DisneyMusicVideos My problem with mazda is the stupid decisions they make. Other markets get the diesel Awd versions of the Mazda 6 but mazda doesn't offer it here in the states , we also don't get the wagon and they still haven't put the 4 cylinder turbo in anything but the CX9 . Really really dumb.. ps I still don't see the reason for the CX3
mark williams Yup. I'm super salty about Mazda not offering the diesel or the wagon here. Also I agree the CX-3 is pointless and way too small to be useful
Definitely the Mazda for me! I'd be afraid I would fall asleep driving the Camry even if it was a v6. If something happens to my fusion it would probably be replaced with another, unless I find something nifty and affordable.
i use accord since 93 stary from maestro 4ws, and then until 2005 i change to camry, in 2010 i borrow mazda 6 from my friend, since then until today i always use mazda, CX5, CX3 and 6. mazda is so much fun to drive and excellent build materials.. just for some people is the price and after market sales, but for me, i don't care with that as long as my car can pleasure me much.
First, i have one that's 2016. it runs great without problems so far. the main reason for me to buy this is just because of it's look outside and inside. The quality is cheap in general if u touch the interior. that's rational for the price given. As i known, Skyactiv is a DI engine without any port injection, so it is such a design flaw for all the DI engines because the outside intake valves are not able to be in touched with the gasoline. As the result, carbon deposit can easily formed on the back of the intake valves. Solutions? i guess after might be 60k-90k miles later, it is most likely to conduct a cleaning jobs on the valves to remove the nasty carbon residues in order to function correctly.
If you want your 6 to not only look sportier and like a european car, but also feel more planted and even have better handling, you have to lower it with Corksport lowering springs. Ideally, you would use new shocks like Koni Yellows, otherwise, your stock shocks won't last too long. It turns the car into a european sedan basically.
At this point a better option is to just get a versa or Dr. Tuned ECU tune for it. Definitely unlocks power without even sacrificing much MPG. Or they also male a supercharger for the 2.5 skyactiv now.
I find it funny that the Mazda looks SO similar to a Lexus/Infiniti, yet the Camry (which is made by the makers of Lexus) doesn't have the same similarities to the Lexus models. The interior of the current Camry is horrible. They did SO MUCH better which the new gen
different strategies, mazda's goal is to make the 6 a luxury like vehicles for the average joe, by doing this, they have to sacrifice engine power, otherwise, it would catapult the price, whereas toyota focuses on the commuters, the daily drivers who want safety and cars that just work, and the camry is great at that, which is why it sells like crazy
Great compariosn, sir! I wonder how much of Mazda's cramp-feeling interior is due to its black headliner. While I personally love this (I feel it makes it more luxurious), I recognize that darker colors tend to make interiors feel smaller than lighter colors
Great comparison. For me though, having a V6 is a must. It would be amazing if Mazda put some variant of their turbo 4 in that 6!! That would be amazing
The Camry's V6 isn't worth the mushy handling, wallowy ride, cheap interior, and bloated Corolla generic rental car design that's seen everywhere. Rather have the premium, dynamic, and unique Mazda. 2018 Camry and the not yet revealed 2018 Accord will make things interesting though.
Forrest's Auto Reviews You can go ahead and lie to yourself. Hondas are the 2nd most reliable vehicles after Toyota/Lexus. Nice try. Typical Honda hater.
Trust me, the Honda is a hoot compared to the Camry. Toyota builds cars to last, but I would always take a Honda first. Honda's conception of a milquetoast car is miles ahead of Toyota's notion of the same.
Mazda 6 is the King of the midsize sedans, design inside and out, technology and quality. Also at dealership, I feel Mazda is more quick, efficient and they provide great customer service. I have a Toyota too and when I go to service takes longer because they are crowded and employees are overwhelmed and in my opinion sometimes translates in bad service
I've seen the next Camry at the NY auto show and it blows away the Mazda in both interior and exterior. It will still have the V6, won't be a fair comparison until the Mazda enters it's new generation.
I cant believe you would touch on the fact that the Mazda GT has Blind Spot Monitoring, RADAR CRUISE CONTROL, BOSE PREMIUM AUDIO and the price.... oh gosh, the price difference is minimal with a load of more options!
in terms of reliability which car is best? i’m in the market for a new car (currently driving a 2001 corolla s), don’t really care for speed but mostly concerned with reliability and good fuel economy
I think the buying/leasing price has to be included here as well, although I 100% agree with your review, leasing any competition is much simpler for some reason than Mazda (I just turned in my current gen mazda 6), this is not just my experience but of at least 3 of my other friends who went through the same exact thing with four different dealers in two different states and cities! Once you go through that you wonder how they sell any of their cars
@Luis Herrera - to be clear, you say Toyota offers a 6 (or any # of gears) manual gearbox on the Camry? I'll give you 1 (one) mulligan on the insult which, if it applies to anyone, might be YOU.
Hi! I really like your reviews and think you have good insight into what the average consumer is looking for in a car. I am actually in the market for a new car and have been watching a bunch of your reviews. You seem to answer questions that simply reading reviews and comparing specs can't. I do have one critique, though. I've noticed in a few of your reviews you sometimes flub your lines (for example in this video when you're getting into the back seat of the Camry and you start to say 'configuration' and correct yourself to say 'consideration). It's not a huge deal, but I really think it is worth it to do another take to get it right. This is not a personal critique -- I mumble a lot and tend to mix up words. But I also work in video production, and if an actor flubbed their line like that we would definitely go again. Every other aspect of your videos is very professional, so it sticks out to me when this happens. Just my two cents!
Thanks for the tip! We would like to let you know that Sofyan does not script any of his lines, he is literally doing every scene "on the fly". We tried to scripted him a couple years ago and most people weren't pleased with it. While he constantly tries to work on his speech, what you're hearing is him doing it all in one take, as if you were there with him. We appreciate your advice though, always great to hear such great comments from other professionals in the industry!
awesome review as usual! The 6 would beat Camry in quietness and NVH if they didn't use the atrocious Dunlop SP5000 tires, the same ones that came on my Mazda 6 2014 :)
I've been inside the Mazda 6 and it's just better in real life. It's hard to justify it by just watching videos from TH-cam. You just have to feel it and enjoy it. The Mazda 6, has more classic interior unlike the Camry with its futuristic style. But I like more the Mazda, it has a solid feel and like he said very premium quality inside. You can disagree with me, I am just sharing my experience. 😃
I've had my 2017 Mazda 6 GT since February. All I'll say is that this is the only car I've ever had where someone next to me took out their phone to take a picture of it.

Bikash Gautam A type of independent rear suspension which offers good wheel articulation & handling. Almost all European sport sedans employ some sort of multilink suspension at the rear. All prior generation Camrys used struts for rear axles, which gave a cushy ride but robs handling & feel from the driver.
It's not really that comfortable on rough roads in Sydney lol .
I love how people are comparing the 2017 Mazda 6 to a 2018 Camry that's not even out yet. Why don't you see what Mazda does with the 2018 6 and then compare the two? Comparing separate year models is not a comparison.
This video was extremely well done. Just wanted to point out that there is a definite increase in production quality. Good work!
The Camry is clearly better looking... Try saying that with a straight face LOL
Matthew Major Weenus Lol haha. But The 2018 Camry is WAY more modern and is great looking though.
D.J. Wheaton meh the current 6 is still better looking than the 2018 Camry
Matthew Major Weenus wait until the 2018 comes out... 😏
+Serkan Ister Show us real proof that he works for Mazda then.
But both cars look like no effort went into designing it at all. I know its not luxurious, but they could have at least updated its interior to match the direction of most cars.
Mazda is gorgeous!
If all of us like the Mazda, why is no one buying it?
Nintando cause you broke boys ain't got no money
Nintando iam bying it Will have it in 3 days
Bought one.
It's probably due to the [relatively] poor reliability ratings that Ford earned them years ago.
I bought one a few weeks ago! Mazda all the way
I have a 2017 Mazda 6 Touring with a 6 speed manual, love it.
Same here!
djantonio72 does the 6sp manual have a sports mode?(longer shifts maybe taken care off by manual transmission but would sports mode change change suspension settings)
@@rpaz5825 It did not have a sport mode.
This isn't a comparison test. It's a tragic pity party. How dare you put such a vanilla car up against the truly excellent Mazda6! How dare you... :-)
JAX facts
derrik tie Based on what? You're like most people: perpetuating the stereotype even if it's no longer relevant. Sure, in 1990 you could make such a claim and be generally correct, but not in 2017. Nearly ALL cars have achieved a level of reliability unheard of 20 years ago. Mazda makes excellent, reliable cars (I owned the first gen Mazda 3 for a decade), and they drive better than anything in their class. If it's faultless reliability you're after but still want to have some spirit in your drive, might I suggest the Honda Accord?
derrik tie I disagree...as long as u take car of the car? It would last u twice as long
derrik tie I bought my Mazda in 07 and still looks brand new...I get lots of compliments, even from the dealer!
I review cars, too and both vehicles seem like great entries!

"The Quest To Record The Best!" 📽
The camry is horrible .. Mazda all day everyday
DimachkaS Mazda 6 is so horrible!!! it looks like a freaking Mazda 3 but the longer version of it get out of here now
I liked the mazda6 when it wasn’t trying so hard to be a bmw.. oh wait, that never happened
@@thirtycascade4915 I agree, the mazda has repeated the body style for a decade with very minor changes...and people rave about the "styling"...I don't hate the car,but my-god it's hardly the car that makes you do a double-take.
DimachkaS the Mazda is horrible camry all day.
nice comparison! mazda often doesnt get the credit they deserve. if they keep building cars and suvs like they are doing now, toyota and honda better watch out.
I really enjoy your reviews. You present them well and present them in a way that people using them in every day living can appreciate.
I think both are nice, and the Camry gives you that reliability peace of mind. But the Mazda looks way more premium and drives better.
Jonathan A My bad, I corrected my statement, but my opinion remains the same.
Literally every camry in New York is a taxi or uber.
It won't anymore until the 2018 Camry arrives.
Kawada Mami no ma'am its because Mazda does not do fleet sales like Toyota Nissan.
RayzaBlayz because it's reliable ? Lol
what? www.mazdausa.com/fleet truth is mazda is unreliable.
RayzaBlayz Haha its funny because my parents where in Manhattan this past weekend and said the same thing. They just work.
Owned a 3 for years and loved it! Looking to buy a new car and will be going back to Mazda and stepping up to the 6! great video
I wish you would mention some other pros and cons about these cars such as:
-the Camry and Accord have higher discounts (which means a lower price), higher resale values, and more dealerships than Mazda.
-The Mazda6 has the best 6-speed automatic with convertor lock-up at a low 5mph and quick downshifts of the mid-size sedans.
-Mazda offers LED headlights on their mid-trim level vs others at only the high trim levels.
-The Mazda6 trunk size is a little smaller (because the hinges are covered from crushing your cargo) but the trunk access hole is much larger and useful than the Camry or Accord
-Over 80% of the mid-size sedan buyers choose a 4-cyclinder, so not having a V6 is not that important to a small auto company with limited resources and small dealerships.
I think Camry selks better because of consumer awareness. I just found out about mazda 6...and it's a no brainer.
Buy a Camry....If you're a grandma
Mazda = Japanese BMW!
Just beautiful car like Bmw!
I own a 2016 Mazda 6 and I absolutely love it.
Hows it holding up
Great review!
If anyone's wondering which of these two 4 cylinders is faster, the Camry is. I learned from experience, lol.
I highly doubt that😂
Love your reviews!
i think having a Mazda would be a much better option because everywhere you go there's a Camry everywhere.
So objective! Love it! I own a Mazda and I recommend toyotas for my mom. without a doubt, they excel at different things!
I like Toyota Camry better. But I am waiting for 2018 Toyota Camry in the late Summer. I can't wait to get one at that time.
Never thought youtube wud recommend this to me: camry vs mazda6, and now commenting w/o watching
Definitely the Mazda for me! I'd be afraid I would fall asleep driving the Camry even if it was a v6. If something happens to my fusion it would probably be replaced with another, unless I find something nifty and affordable.
Can't wait for the civic hatch video! And how it compares to the mazda3 hatch
i use accord since 93 stary from maestro 4ws, and then until 2005 i change to camry, in 2010 i borrow mazda 6 from my friend, since then until today i always use mazda, CX5, CX3 and 6. mazda is so much fun to drive and excellent build materials.. just for some people is the price and after market sales, but for me, i don't care with that as long as my car can pleasure me much.
If you buy a Mazda 6, you HAVE to add the oem lip rear spoiler. It makes the whole car look much better
I can't wait to see the 2018 rematch between these two. 2018 Mazda 6 with the turbo could be a game changer... 🤔
Hey Sofyan, where do you live because I live near the DC area. I live in Falls Church, Virginia.
He lives in Fredericksburg ;)
Mazda 6 all the way!!!
Great compariosn, sir! I wonder how much of Mazda's cramp-feeling interior is due to its black headliner. While I personally love this (I feel it makes it more luxurious), I recognize that darker colors tend to make interiors feel smaller than lighter colors
"a keyed ignition instead of push button start, sorta from a 2004 Corolla" sounds pretty fair Sofyan HAHAHA
The Camry is typical Toyota, an appliance with no personality. The Mazda has personality, looks and style. I'd take the Mazda.
Great comparison. For me though, having a V6 is a must. It would be amazing if Mazda put some variant of their turbo 4 in that 6!! That would be amazing
I still love my 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport but amazing video once again
The Camry's V6 isn't worth the mushy handling, wallowy ride, cheap interior, and bloated Corolla generic rental car design that's seen everywhere. Rather have the premium, dynamic, and unique Mazda. 2018 Camry and the not yet revealed 2018 Accord will make things interesting though.
Mr. Hand Honda Accord get's you the V6 with a much more sporty feel
Mr. Hand I love my 2017 V6 Touring Accord
Forrest's Auto Reviews You can go ahead and lie to yourself. Hondas are the 2nd most reliable vehicles after Toyota/Lexus. Nice try. Typical Honda hater.
lol you have to be joking , the mazda is so underpowered it is a complete joke for that body size.
Mazda 6 every time.
I drive a 2015 Toyota camry hybrid and i love it
I wonder how the 2018 Camry will stack up against it....
I hope it'll be the best in the segment...
It´s definitely gonna be a serious improvement
+FarhantheMovieGuy I've always been one to bash the Camry because of how boring it is but it looks like Toyota is finally addressing those complaints.
tbh except reliability and the V6 it has really always been a bad car in any aspect, but that´s gonna change soon...
Sidon Ronaldinho Yup, now with a better and lighter platform, and better handling the Camry will definitely will be a great competitor to the Mazda 6.
I've seen the next Camry at the NY auto show and it blows away the Mazda in both interior and exterior. It will still have the V6, won't be a fair comparison until the Mazda enters it's new generation.
Excellent comparison.
I have a Mazda6 and I love it!
Hilarious reactions! Spot on!!
One other BIG difference - Mazda offers a very good 6 speed manual.
Patrick De Haan Toyota does too idiot
@Luis Herrera - to be clear, you say Toyota offers a 6 (or any # of gears) manual gearbox on the Camry? I'll give you 1 (one) mulligan on the insult which, if it applies to anyone, might be YOU.
Very good review. You Know exactly what you are talking about
Well if he's doing it all off the cuff, that's impressive!
Camry is selling more just because of its legacy. Here clear winner is Mazda 6. Camry sucks big time from 2012 model year.
This is going to be a good one!!
great review! thanks
Great work very informative video I own a Mazda 6 and is great.
What year.. i got 2016 today GT. Also visca barca
Every time you complaint about the look, Toyota makes the grill bigger thinking the problem has been addressed accordingly
Mazda is much simple but elegant specially the dash, I like the the over all design of it.
Mazda is more of "driver's car". Plus it's better looking inside and out!
Hey Sofyan did you know? GCC spec Camry comes with dual exhaust pipes and makes 181 hp. The base model is still 178 hp with a single exhaust though.
The new camry i think that Will give the finger to the competitors
MAZDA ALL THE WAY!!! FUN FUN FUN! NEVER BORING
More of these pleaseee
awesome review as usual! The 6 would beat Camry in quietness and NVH if they didn't use the atrocious Dunlop SP5000 tires, the same ones that came on my Mazda 6 2014 :)
Pete I honestly don't even think my 2015 6 is loud at all. If it's the loudest car in the class then the other cars must be whisper quiet.
He should've thrown in the Accord Touring V6. I think it's the best of the three and that's why I got one
the mazda 6 is nice inside and out, they really did a great job on it. too bad it isn't available with a more exciting engine and awd.
Its looks like you more enjoyed your session in the mazda 6 than the Camry
I love the Mazda 6. But the only downside is the room at the back. It's not as big as the other competitors.
