Merry Christmas from Finland! My M91 (Tula 1907) was a German capture shipped to Finland by the ship "s/s Equity" in Nov.1 1917. It has all the early features exept the bayonet adapter. Sometimes I wish these rifles could talk. (..or maybe not!) A lot of history behind these weapons. Happy New (peaceful!) Year to You all!
Had one of these rifles once upon a time! Very interesting bayonet adapter. I had to get it in a package deal from a guy I knew from the gun shows. It came with a 1918 Remington SCW rifle. Posted it long ago on Gunboards, maybe you came across some of the old pics of it. Its also featured in Matt Dirisio's new book, too! That is some hard to find history right there!
I captured mine from a neighbor after her father died. He wanted me to have it. It was standing in a corner in the basement and in beautiful condition, wrapped with a bath towel. It is a 1943 91/30 Izzy. The wood is in excellent condition.
Wonderful analysis of this very rare Mosin! Quite educational to say the least and I doubt that much information about this is out there. Thank you for this Christmas present! Merry Christmas Big Sam to you and your Family! 😁😁
How much of the early round nose ammo was made? How late was it made? How long did the early ammo hang around in storage? Was there any of it around in WW1? If they, or any other country, that had stockpiles of earlier round nose ammo would they have converted all of their rifles to new sighting for spitzer ammo then make them inaccurate if having to use earlier ammo?
Thank you for sharing this with the world. Recently in the past two years Christ has come back into my life. If we pay attention day to day we will see and witness the Lord delivering messages to us in many different forms. I have recently subscribed to your channel and through this channel Christ has reached out to me as well. Merry Christmas to you, your family and loved ones. As you have pointed out it is important to understand the true meaning of Christmas and that it has never been about receiving material wealth and is a remembrance of the arrival of the world's Lord and savior Jesus Christ. As well as the start of the greatest events that were witnessed and recorded that are in written form.

Those bayonet adapters were also done on lebel rifles, which makes a lot of sense.
