    Inspirational! A blessing to have an instrument of extraordinary tonal range and power and virtuoso Juilliard graduate David Ball with imaginative technique.
    Good to both see and hear the expressive performance of Bach's Sinfonia 29. The audio was good given the acoustic delay time of the Cathedral.
    Looking forward to viewing more mini recitals from the Cathedral and, if allowed, recitals later this year by guest organists. All the best from west Michigan😊👍👍🎶🎶

    This organ in Christ Cathedral seems to bo `the` organ for this cantata - and praise the Lord: Mr. Ficarri and his devine fanfares :)

    Giving the Sinfonia a grand honorary fanfare - you've outdone yourself! :-)

    Bizarre registration for Bach. Wonderful piece of music and technically very well played

      It is a bizarre registration - to heavy in the pedal. It is actually badly played technically. Way too fast for the building and poorly articulated. He just rams through it for whatever reason I don't know. There are some obvious note errors along the way.

    When everything gets "settled in", you need to put out a CD or vinyl disc of some of the music played at the cathedral - such as this Bach piece for example.

    Nice job on the devilishly tricky Bach transcription-cleanly and accurately played! Not easy.

    Gorgeous! We hope to see and hear much more from you! Maybe you could also play some works by composer Robert Hebble, a friend of Frederick Swann, maybe a piece like "Celebration" - which is in the Crystal Cathedral organ album.

    Sinfonia is WAY too fast - reducing it to a pile of mush...

  • @imamale4742
    @imamale4742 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Lordy that's fast. The notes barely have time to sound and it's all muddy and run together.

      I have to agree. Not impressed. Little change in registration, and a flubber at the end.

    The acoustics in that room are problematic for an organ performance.

    • @charleslester7422
      @charleslester7422 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the same time, the acoustics hide a lot of "performance boo-boos."

    • @philippeconne6148

      To much echo, the Sinfonia would have been played less fast !

    • @bzint
      @bzint ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I wouldn't judge the acoustics based on the minimal recording tech used in this video. Hear it live and then make your call!

    Definitely not up to standards of Fred Swann or any other predecessors to play that organ. Sad.
