I bought a translucent Blue Contour knob from Raceseng for my Mazda 3. It’s BEAUtiful!!! I’m just unsure about installing it because I don’t want to prematurely damage my transmission with all the extra weight! The teardrop and contour looked good on your car!
how would it damage your transmission? How fragile do you think transmissions are? They're made to take hundreds of lbft of torque, but you don't think it can handle a lb weighted shiftknob?
@@greensabr200 Those are my exact thoughts. Of course you will not damage the gears themselves as you incorrectly suggest (DUH). But - by riding the shifter with your hand or with a weighted knob could prematurely cause wear to the "Transaxle Shift Forks" by causing them to overheat. So that is why (as Spenser suggests) a weighted knob may not be good for transmission longevity.
@TerryManitoba the only time resting your hand on ghe shifter could potentially damage the trans is when it's in gear. Theoretically, yes, a weighted shift knob could cause premature wear, but there's no evidence of this so it's just speculation

Factory one with shift pattern, IMO
"User boredness is advised" 💀
If I ever get another manual car, I'm ordering a Raceseng
