  • I hope this helps for anyone who has been asking about how I price my rugs currently! A lot of rambling, so I apologize if my point didn't come across, but here are things to remember:
    - understand your material cost
    - understand your audience's willingness to pay
    - understand the difficulty of your commissions
    - be willing to learn and make mistakes

    This video was so helpful, I'm only on Rug #9 and decided after Rug #10 on my belt I would start charging higher rates. I use alot of material and it takes approximately 3 to 4 days for me to finish a Rug. It started as a hobby, posting videos a pictures got the word out 😂 I'm retired and this hobby definitely doesn't allow me to get bored.

      I hope you've made even more since this comment! It's always good to adjust your pricing as you go on and get better

    Yeah there's a lot of people who can copy projector pictures... Like Kirby, it's simple, there's 3 colors, a kid could do it. You're definitely doing stuff that requires actual talent and definitely more time, like the face rugs, there's tons of detail, that all takes time. People are willing to pay for better quality stuff. All your stuff should be $200 and up. You gotta get paid for your time or it aint worth doing. Keep up the good work bud!

    Hey, I have a question. First of, I love ur job, I have been seeing ur stuff for months,and I just ordered the things that I need so I can start making rugs too, first as a hobby and maybe then who knows as a business, because I see a lot of potential in it, and in my country (Portugal) there isn’t much people doing it, and I see some techniques that make the rugs look better that they aren’t using. But moving on to the question. When people ask u about washing the rugs, what are ur recommendations for them?

    • @dwrugs
      @dwrugs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the support! I do not recommend washing them in a washing machine. I always tell customers that they should care for it as a piece of art, but if a spot does arise, I recommend spot treating it with dish soap diluted with water

    Thank you for answering, I really understood what you said but i was wondering how do you do the payment. Do the customer pay before you start on the rug or do they pay after?

    • @dwrugs
      @dwrugs  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It depends on the customer. Sometimes people will pay in full beforehand or I will ask for a down payment if they are on a list. Sometimes people pay afterwards though, just be sure that you receive payment before you ship it out.

    I recently started making rugs and making football logos and other things , how did you promote? And do you have overwhelming amount of people asking for one?, I want to have other rug makers come together, and help complete everyone’s orders, because I know sometimes other people can get overwhelmed with many orders coming all in at once,

    • @dwrugs
      @dwrugs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I promoted a lot through social media, I just posted a new video on some tips on how to promote. It would be nice for everyone to come together, but I think the uniqueness of each creator is what makes each rug so special
